That's how the voters in all polls have always reacted & likely always will

The earlier in the season your team's loss is, the better it's chances at being ranked above a team who's only loss is at the end of they year (see: Florida ahead of Michigan back in the Troy Smith Heisman year) or weeks removed from a loss (Michigan State's was a month ago, Oregon's was this weekend). With the advent of the 4-team playoff, it's presumably less of a issue now, but it's been that way forever. The only way to change it is drop the coaches poll & get AP voters who watch tons of games, not just 1 on Saturday then write their articles & interviews & possibly watch a late game
I put it wrong, I understand it but don't agree. Think head to head carries more weight

Irish will beat FSU but lets be honest, trips to Arizona State and USC plus home against a decent Northwestern team...Irish will not make playoffs with a loss and no conference championship to put on resume to the committee.

Its important simply because two of the top 4 will obviously eat each other from the SEC so the #5 is a default waiting in line...crazy how this is going to play out. Loving it so far.

I agree. Complete bullshit, but Oregon will only be ahead of Michigan State in the polls again if Michigan State loses. It's like the 3 TD win over them didn't even happen

Yeah the Baylor and TCu and Auburn/Miss St games are gonna be great. A&M should roll Ole Miss in College Station.

Zona is not good at football. This is another 8-5 team talent wise. We played you guys tough, per usual. Doesn't make us world beaters or even contenders.

That said, Arizona's schedule sets up really nicely. A one loss year is possible. Two losses likely. (vs. UCLA and ASU).

2 loss year is insane. Rich Rod to Florida?

Baylor has covered all spreads all but once. I ASSume they took that into consideration.

OU is definitely the Samaje Perine show...if he has an off day they go down. Period. They'll handle the Red River game this weekend but I'd be scared against Baylor now with their margin of error shot after the TCU loss.

    1. Auburn
    2. Alabama
    3. Michigan State
    4. Georgia
    5. Florida State

next 5 in no order: Miss St, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oregon

i thought auburn was gonna regress this year but they have opened my eyes, easily the best team in the country atm. I like the Mississippi teams, but not quite top 5 imho. I put FSU at 5 just because they don't lose. They do not impress me at all, and I think they are a cunthair away from their season turning south. Michigan State might be the best bet in the country to make the playoff. They have Ohio State at home and no other tests on the schedule... excellent team too. That Oregon game was weird at the end and the final score not indicative of how close that game really was. Georgia just can never put it all together and run the table. You really think Miss St and Ole Miss are better than Alabama? Please... yeah Ole Miss got lucky at home and squeaked out a win when Bama's best player was hurt, I know it sounds like Im not giving Ole Miss credit but I dont mean to... Ole miss deserved to win, but to say they are better than Bama? Cmon son...

There schedule is so weak. They got one game left and that's the Michigan State game. Everything else is a cake walk. They need more teams to drop more games because that VT loss looks real bad right now. I do agree they run the table
