Clips just pulled a "Lakers 2000" and "D-Wade/Heat 2006", that was one of the great..

great moments in NBA playoff history.

2000 the Lakers are down by 15 or so at home in Game 7 WCF in the 4th quarter vs a game Portland team. They end up winning the game and going to the NBA finals to win Shaq and Kobe their first rings.

2006 the Heat and D-Wade are down in game 3 of the Finals to Dallas at home, already down 2-0 in games and about 12 points in the 4th, D-Wade goes into the phone booth and comes out with a cape, with his offense and the Heat D, they win the game and end up taking the next 3 to win the finals in a complete turnaround of the series.

2011 the Mavs are down big in the 4th quarter of the NBA finals game 2 in Miami, already down 1-0 and staring at being down 2-0, they catch fire on both ends of the court and steal game 2 in Miami. the rest is history.

2014 what the Clips just did being down 16 with nine mins to go and stealing this game, definitely goes down with the best in playoff history, but where it ranks depends on whether they go on to win the series and more..

Was a crazy come back, definitely didn't see it happening. Even when the took the lead back for the second time, I didn't think they'd hold onto it. Solid finish for LA.

With one shot outside the lane all 4q. I think it was more the Thunder gave that game away.

The laker 2002 sac game they lakers shot 27 FT in the 4th quarter alone. That's insane comeback game as well

2002 Laker comeback in my opinion was more of a fix than a comeback. Refs blatantly stole that game from Sac.

I thought so too Krit, but some people say the calls were actually justified. There are some play by play breakdowns of the quarter on the net

Stinks it had to end with one of the most ridiculous endings ever... clippers shooting and thunder not fouling... mind boggling

Mavs actually had several amazing comebacks during those playoffs. They were also down 15 with 4'59 to go @ OKC in game 4 and came back and won the game in OT.

That was an amazing year. I'll never forget it, ever.

Dick Bavetta and the refs rigged that LA game against portland. refs used to extend playoff series' to increase profits.

D.Wade's super flopping skills and the refs won that first final for Miami against Dallas. He was miraculously getting fouled with the nearest defender being 5 feet away.

Against the nets in 2002 yup. But OP mentioned other comebacks in which the team went on to win title.

    Exactly.

A more memorable one for boston than the 2002 comeback was game 4 i believe in 2008 when the lakers at home took 35-14 lead after the 1st quarter which was the biggest 1st quarter lead in nba finals history. The celtics weathered the storm and ended up winning the game.

anyhow what makes todays clipper comeback rather compelling was a 16 pt comeback with 9 mins to go in a game for all intents and purposes was an elimination game. They go down 3-1 if they lose today and how many teams in nba playoff history have come back from down 3-1 to win ? I cant think of one

There have been 8 of them. A few in recent nba history. Before 5 years ago there was only 2 in the history of the league. The only one off the top of my head Is LA beating Phx down 3-1 a few years ago.
