Spain is not defensive team and Argentina is not explosive on offense ..next question.

Have you ever watched these teams play?

Who are the pitchers and in SF or NY?

it ain't like we gotta factor in starting pitchers in soccer. And we know its going to be played in Brazil.

Assume both teams are healthy... who wins that matchup? Its an opinion question pal there is no right or wrong answer.

Again I would look at the odds. You look for value in World Cup. You also need to see starting line ups like you do in baseball. Teams have 23 players and only 11 start. And it will be impossible for both teams to be 100 perfect healthy or not have suspensions in a semi final game.

    paver please

the 4 offensive players for argentina on di maria, aguero, higuain and messi are probably the best offensive line any team in this tournament has.

    England have a chance

    England World Cup squad:

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Man City), Ben Foster (West Brom), Fraser Forster (Celtic).

Defenders: Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Phil Jones (Man Utd), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Chris Smalling (Man Utd), Leighton Baines (Everton), Luke Shaw (S'ton).

Midfielders: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (S'ton), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), James Milner (Man City), Ross Barkley (Everton).

Forwards: Wayne Rooney (Man Utd), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Danny Welbeck (Man Utd), Rickie Lambert (S'ton)

Stand-by list: John Ruddy (Norwich) John Flanagan (Liverpool), John Stones (Everton), Michael Carrick (Man Utd), Jermain Defoe (Toronto), Andy Carroll (West Ham), Tom Cleverley (Man Utd).

Look how good those young attackers are, think they will be a threat.

Think this is a competitive first 11

    Hart

    Johnson Jagielka Cahill Baines

    Henderson Gerrard Wilshere Milner

    Sturridge Rooney

    Shaw
    Chamberlain
    Barkley
    Lallana
    Welbeck
    Sterling

Could do some damage off the bench.

What do you like about England's defense? This is very average defense. They have no chance against the big teams.

Well Johnson & Baines are really good fullbacks, Jagielka is solid so is Cahill as you can see with Chelsea, Smalling and Jones are two talented young players along with Shaw it isn't too bad, another thing to remember is they have Joe Hart behind them if hes injured then they have no chance.

The only thing that worries me is they don't have a defensive midfield player a anchorman type player maybe someone like Huddlestone or Carrick, I am sure Jones or Gerrard could do that job though.

I expect Englands defense to shine and at least reach the quarter finals, they might surprise a few people you know with that youthful armoury, look at the spine of the team: Hart - Cahill - Gerrard - Rooney - Sturridge that is a world class spine what ever the case, all about nerves & how they deal with the occasion.

Yes he is good, but act like a kids when he is on the bench. Very bad mentality, France is better without him.

Smalling is hopeless, one of the most erratic over-rated "prospects" in football. Glenn Johnson isnt good defensively. I dont disagree that their defense is any worse then some of the other big nations though like France, Italy, Portugal, Brazil. That's why anybody could win this world cup - nobody has a rock solid defense.
