It seems that the Raiders are Favored to Land Freeman, But...

...it would be as a backup to Prior. Meanwhile, Matt Flynn's job only gets better as he is now the highest paid third-string quarterback in the history of mankind. That has already happened as rookie Matt McGloin has moved up to second string.

Why bring in freeman at all? If so wouldn't Flynn just get released anyhow

I don't see the point for the Raiders, but they seem to always go after black or troubled qb's.

Really thought Freeman would take a shot at where he could go start.
    Jax, Jets, Vikings.
You would think after the Bills lost EJ last night they would pick him up immediately.

Wtf is Freeman thinking here? Unless Raiders are ready to bench Pryor already.

    Pryor is the franchise QB.

But if he gets hurt Freeman is a solid backup QB and he is a fast black man with a big arm.

    business as usual.

I don't know. That would be 3 bad QB cotracts for the Raiders. I think the Browns might go after him now.

Freeman a typical black quarterback cannot read defenses not too bright and his ball sales

He has a strong arm though

If Hoyer is lost for the season, I think Cleveland would be interested.

Raiders were the favorite because of the OC connection. The OC there was his OC during his first couple years in Tampa.

Freeman as a backup is still an upgrade over McGloin, and I assume McGloin would be the one released, not sure they can flat out release Flynn with his contract.

Was it two? I think it was just the one when he passed for 400+ that made him millions.

Freeman is done, nobody in their right mind is going to touch that contract, especially for a backup.

Raiders are not taking Josh Freeman if they're smart. If you take Josh Freeman you are saying we see him as a starting franchise QB otherwise you are just picking up a huge distraction. Pryor is considered the franchise QB for the Raiders unless they changed their position. Browns have a new GM so the new GM always wants to bring in their QB so if Freeman plays good that will prevent that. Jags could pick him up, but who knows.

Freeman has played his last game as a franchise starter. He could be a 3rd or 2nd string QB next year just not this year. I just don't see a team that wants him. Also he will not pick up a new offense right away so that will be another problem.

It would be a huge mistake for them to pickup Freeman. What's the point? They have already invested a lot of $ in Flynn and what a waste he is.

It really wouldn't make any sense. He's not going to make them a playoff team, the QB is the least of their problems. They gotta give Pryor the rest of the year and evaluate if they want to go forward with him. If not then maybe draft one depending on where they finish, but even then they have so many bigger issues. Pryor has all the talent but who knows if he'll ever develop all of it. I was waiting for it to come at OSU but he never felt the need to because he could just will his way by being more athletic than everyone else.

Not sure you can ruin Pryor by the way a lot of what makes Pryor special is ability not like kids breaking down defenses with audibles...he buys time makes plays win his legs what the hell could freeman do to ruin that besides winning the starting job

Freeman is not done, he just needs a fresh start. Look around the league and you'll see he can be a starter.

He's like 3 years younger than Weeden

There is 0% chance that the Browns new GM will get Freeman, because he wants to bring in HIS QB. With two picks in the first round he is going to do it in the draft. Not a chance in hell will the GM let a coach get acquainted with Freeman so next year his draft QB or Hoyer sits, because Freeman leads the team to 8-8. It will be between the rookie QB and Hoyer for the starting job.
