Ahhh Thursday… the day daddy runs to the studio to shoot his surging Geno’s Picks—which are 67% over the past two weeks—because while they are fun, they're hard work as well. Still, before i do anything, my day doesn't start without a little coffee and of course the SBRForum. I hope this is becoming your morning ritual as well.
After further review
Finally the instant replay is good for something. After reviewing the last play of the Raiders Texans game it was revealed that the Raiders dramatically won that game with only 10 players on the field on the games final play, which you just have to see. And while the refs may have missed that 11th man, he was certainly there for everyone to see in the AD on the back of each players helmet. Anyone who didn’t get goosebumps when they heard that doesn’t truly appreciate how much football mirrors life. And before any purists question whether the refs should have flagged illegal procedure on the play, cut them a break; you know how hard it is to properly count the players on the field when about 70% of the jerseys have Williams, Johnson and Harrison on the back? And please don’t even get me started on the name Smith—there are more black Smiths in the NFL than colonial Williamsburg. (c’mon didja really think I was gonna stay all mushy this entire take???)
Thread(er) of the week
Yes I painstakingly stalk so many of you going through this forum that it has seriously cut into my pornography time. And while I go through as fast as I can—on both sites—there’s just so much to see. So let’s chat up another forum stud in obamaismyuncle who is hitting 86.6% of his posted plays. And while I cannot say that I checked the entire forum to verify—that porn thing getting in the way again—I will say he nailed everyone of threads I found with picks like Lions -5 is a gift and Oklahoma rolls today and even though he missed his Brewers +137 Pick last night, he nailed it in his opening post when he said “Milwaukee beats Carpenter down tonight” as putting up 3 runs in 5 innings against this guy is as close as he’s come to getting "beat down" since June. My point is, even the 13.3% of the time he’s wrong; he’s right—if only we could say the same for his uncle. And relax four closet Democrats in this thread—I love our President—even if he is changing the name of Air Force to Soul Plane. So keep an eye out for his posts if you wanna make some coin, because he’s to busy predicting winners to write a daily post and tweet it out like crazy trying to get you to read it and I think we all know who I’m talking about—exactly Swingin Johnson… what a loser… now if you’ll excuse me I gotta go link my Facebook to my YouTube into a Groupon. (And of course we are kidding about Johnson as you know we love that guy... check out his week five podcast now). Always entertaining—and sometimes even informative.
Geno’s Picks (5-3 ATS in NCAA)
USC -3.5 at California
The USC Trojans travel to the Bay Area to take on the Golden Bears of California in a tonight's game. The Trojans were cruising along unbeaten until getting routed 2 games ago at Arizona State only to angrily take it out on the cross state Wildcats in a 48-41 shootout victory the following week.OK, i get it, the Trojans feature a high scoring offense with QB Matt Barkley averaging 300 yards a game with 14 TD’s—who owes much his 70% completion rate to wideout Robert Woods and his 55 receptions for 747yds and 6TD’s. And while USC’s defense has been abysmal in giving up 84 points over the past two weeks, they will still be the second worst defense on the field tonight.
The Golden Bears recently surrendered 474 passing yards Colorado’s Tyler Hansen and another 292 to Washington’s Keith Price—two guys that are looking at incredible careers when they leave college—as car dealers and insurance salesman. Couple that with there’s last weeks game—which daddy nailed—where The Bears took a 15-14 halftime lead into the locker room against Oregon last Thursday only to never see the endzone again and give up 29 points to the Ducks in the next 16 minutes as the Bears 3rd quarter play against the Ducks was more embarrassing than Disney’s 3rd Mighty Ducks movie and—if you bet The Bears—even harder to watch. Ducks may fly together but after this game, the Bears Defense Coordinator Travis Johanson may be taking a bus back to St. Paul.
Take USC -3.5
