Cowherd's take on the super bowl

Teams that score over 40 points in a playoff game are 4-24 ATS the next game. Says CAR is a momentum team and the last thing they need is a bye. He also pointed out every single one of their games this season where they had more than a week of rest (bye week, after TNF games etc) were all extremely close where they looked sluggish.
Also if this game was in CAR they would technically be -9.5 which is insanity

People in the media are trying to rationalize this into a game all kinds of ways but the reality is, Carolina's only defensive weakness is their secondary (other than Norman), and Peyton simply can't throw the ball down the field any more. Sorry, don't care how smart he is, the front 7 will be all over his short junk and any old secondary can knock down his wounded duck long passes now. Gonna be a long day for Denver and if Cam can't pass, he'll just run. Carolina ain't gonna be trying to protect him in the Super Bowl the way they normally do.

Amazing that nobody realizes your getting THE #1 Defense in the world +6 points.

Wade Philips has 2 weeks to plan for Philly Brown & Ted Ginn.

Carolina will be settling for field goals, when the glorious country will be wondering why Cam doesn't float into the endzone every-time he touches the ball like the media has been telling them for two straight weeks

This is an 85 Bears defense boys.

Try putting things in perspective. Denver has outscored it's opponents 43-34 in their last two playoff games. Carolina has outscored their opponents 80-39 in their last two playoff games. Both teams have good defenses. Denver had the 4th best scoring defense in the NFL and Carolina had the 6th. Denver had the 19th ranked scoring offense in the NFL and Carolina had the #1 ranked scoring offense in the NFL. Game, Set. and Match to Carolina, along with the cover.

Youre an idiot if you think this defense is anywhere close to the 85 Bears.

Denver played NE twice, Pitt twice, KC twice, Cincinnati, GB, and Minnesota

Carolina played their division, the NFC East, and the AFC South

Only common opponents are Indy which Carolina barely edged at home while Denver lost close on the road vs the Colts. Both teams smashed GB but GB moved the ball much much better vs Carolina. I don't think Carolina scores more than 16-20 points if PM doesn't set them up with multiple turnovers? If PM can step up in the pocket and Kubiak is finally smart enough to give CJ Anderson 90% of the touches instead of 50%? I guess you can't assume he will because he hasn't figured it out yet even though Anderson has made all the plays in their big wins?

Carolina may roll but they most def have not seen a defense fly around like Denver's!!! Denver's D is much more talented, deeper, and healthier than in their SB with Seattle.

I read that and was like, Umm, I'm pretty sure I saw Pittsburgh with an injured QB and no Antonio Brown (still not a bad team) move it all over them. Yeah, they didn't score a ton, but that shouldn't happen if you are talking all time great, which they aren't even close, Porkins

looked sluggish after a bye? They won in Seattle week 5 and scored 31 straight points against Seattle at home in the playoffs after byes this season.

seriously? a strength of schedule argument against a 17-1 team? You forgot to mention that carolina defeated Seattle twice, Arizona and green bay while denver was busy losing to Oakland and barely squeaking by teams like the chargers and the Browns. This goes both ways.

If Cowherd is so great, he'd hit better than his mighty 51.8%. Can't even beat the vig with that %.

You just don't know how Temes going to play Newton might have his worst game… Also turnovers could play a big factor it's why you can bet as much as you want because no one knows who's going to win
