    Nfl suspends blackout policy for next year

    PHOENIX — The NFL is ending TV blackouts, at least for one year.
    Clubs voted at the league's annual meetings Monday to suspend for the 2015 preseason and regular season its longstanding policy, which required teams to sell out a game 72 hours before kickoff in order for it to be aired locally.
    No regular-season games last season and just two in 2013 were subject to blackouts, per the league. The league's finance and broadcast committees proposed the suspension of the policy.
    In September, the Federal Communications Commissioner repealed its rule that prohibited cable and satellite operators from airing any sporting evening that had been blacked out locally, saying the rules "are no longer justified" because of the way the sports industry has evolved.
