Two forms of data are: measurements and frequencies.
In terms of the MLB, I am fairly certain that a counting stat (HR, RBI, SB) is a form of measurement. But what about ratios? Are they measurements too, or are they frequencies?
I know frequency deals with the number of times a data value occurs, but does that mean WHIP is a frequency? A guy will give up X walks + hits per Y inning pitched?
This has me a little confused and any help would be appreciated.
