NFL Player News - Week 14

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck expected to start

    Source: IndySportsCentral.com - Mike Chappell

Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (neck, rib) should be able to participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9, and is expected to be the starting quarterback against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts will likely take it easy on the old quarterback this week during practice. Hasselbeck's MRI revealed a stiff neck and a mild rib separation.

NYG - QB Eli Manning had ankle X-rays

    Source: NFL.com

New York Giants QB Eli Manning (ankle) had X-rays on his ankle after the Week 13 game, according to head coach Tom Coughlin. Manning said he's fine, though, and will not miss a start.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's something to keep an eye on, but it looks like Manning is going to be okay. Manning finished the game and wasn't walking with a significant limp after the loss to the New York Jets.

DEN - QB Brock Osweiler will start again

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Lindsay H. Jones

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler will make another start in Week 14, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Zero surprise here. Peyton Manning isn't healthy, and the Broncos are 3-0 with Osweiler under center. Osweiler runs the Kubiak offense true to design, and this plays to the strength of the team; the defense. Osweiler is not much of a fantasy option, and the conservative nature of the offense holds the wide receivers back as well.

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel will start

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating an earlier report, Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel will be named the starting quarterback Monday, Dec. 7, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Browns are going with Manziel provided he doesn't do anything off the field to lose the opportunity (again). It's got to be a final hurrah with the Browns as they could move on from the 2014 first-round pick if he doesn't play well. Fantasy owners should realize that a scrambling QB like Manziel can be a valuable asset. Add him at least to block other owners in your league. If you've been streaming quarterbacks, then Manziel might be an option for you in the fantasy playoffs.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy playing lighter

Source: The Buffalo News - Tyler Dunne

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy has been lighter this year compared to last, and the Bills are getting creative with their play calling in order to give him plenty of one-on-one opportunities. With extra dieting and conditioning, McCoy has been able to 'maintain his quickness' this season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's a light back running in a power system, but McCoy is producing at a high level provided that he's healthy. McCoy's lost at least 10 pounds from last season and is down to 206 pounds. Running backs coach Anthony Lynn also wants McCoy attacking more to get vertical quicker when he sees holes open up.

BAL - QB Matt Schaub passes concussion tests

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (head) passed the concussion tests after the team's Week 13 game and passed them again Monday, Dec. 7, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Schaub might be eased in during the week of practice. At this time, it looks like he'll be playing in Week 14.

ATL - WR Julio Jones frustrated with role

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones, who had eight catches for 93 yards on the season in the Week 13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, failed to catch a touchdown for the fourth straight game. Jones seems frustrated with his red zone role despite passing the 100-catch mark on the season. 'I don't know what we're getting down there. I don't know what the thinking is as far as if we're going to throw the jump balls or if we're going to run the ball or whatever look we're getting down there. We practice throughout the week throwing jump balls, throwing fades, throwing all these little things. But when the game comes, you never know what's going to come up,' Jones said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners are frustrated as there could be much more there with Jones on a weekly basis. QB Matt Ryan is struggling in the red zone, and Week 13 was no different. The Falcons went 1-for-3 in their red zone trips against Tampa Bay, and Jones was targeted four times in the red zone with two catches. However, he wasn't thrown to at all in five goal-to-go situations.

CHI - TE Martellus Bennett day-to-day

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett (rib) remains day-to-day, according to head coach John Fox.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The ribs injury has really slowed Bennett down. Bennett played in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers but had just three catches for 14 yards. Find other options.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco to have surgery

    Source: WNST

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) will undergo surgery on his torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament Tuesday, Dec. 8, with Dr. James Andrews.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Flacco will have plenty of time to heal, but his availability for the start of training camp in 2016 is up in the air. If all goes well during the recovery process, he should be good to start at the beginning of the regular season.

BAL - TE Crockett Gillmore, TE Maxx Williams could play

    Source: WNST

Baltimore Ravens TEs Crockett Gillmore (back) and Maxx Williams (concussion) have a really good chance to play against the Seattle Seahawks this week, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Both are only reserve tight ends for your fantasy team. Monitor both during the week of practice, but you should have much better options than Gillmore and/or Williams already in place.

NYJ - CB Darrelle Revis still in concussion protocol

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol but is feeling much better, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Revis is doing light physical activities and attended the Jets' Week 13 game. Keep an eye on the practice report to see when he can return.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning to start conditioning

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) is not expected to take part in practice this week but should start some kind of throwing regimen, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

QB Brock Osweiler will start again for the Broncos in Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders. Manning could work with strength and conditioning coach Luke Richesson this week. Manning has done some upper body conditioning in recent weeks with minimal throwing.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns cleared

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) was fully cleared through the NFL's concussion protocol Monday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for the young receiver here. Hurns will likely be eased back into practice this week. If he can fully practice on Friday, then chances are good that he'll be available to play in Week 14.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson not happy with carries

    Source: ESPN.com - Ben Goessling
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, who was held to just 18 yards on eight carries in the Week 13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, hinted that he's not happy with his number of carries. 'As one of the leaders on the team, seeing how the running game has been all season, you definitely want to be able to go out and establish the run and let things feed off of that,' Peterson said. 'To finish with eight carries, it's tough. I feel like we're able to sit back, evaluate some things again and get back to what we do.' Peterson met with head coach Mike Zimmer after the game to share his concerns after receiving only 13 carries Nov. 22, according to a league source.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Last week, things were different as Peterson toted the rock 29 times. This week, they found themselves down 21-0 at halftime against Seattle. Peterson carried the ball the first two times in the second half but didn't have a carry after that. We expect things to be improved here, but falling down by three touchdowns is not a gamescript this team can come back from.

PHI - RB DeMarco Murray sees limited action

    Source: CSNPhilly.com - Reuben Frank

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray played just 14 snaps Sunday, Dec. 6, and had eight carries against the New England Patriots. Murray averaged 36 snaps per game before Sunday. His previous low this season was 25. RB Darren Sproles had 15 carries, the third-most of his career and his most since he had 18 in 2009. RB Kenjon Barner had nine carries, which was a career high.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eagles coach Chip Kelly explained the distribution of carries by saying he believed that the smaller, faster Barner and Sproles would be better matchups for the Eagles against the Patriots' larger linebackers. Murray's fantasy owners may understand that sentiment, but they certainly don't appreciate his lack of playing time on Sunday. Eagles fans don't care as the team was able to pull off the upset of the Patriots.

TB - TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins sees limited work

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Austin Seferian-Jenkins played 21 snaps (30% of the offense) Sunday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team was easing him back on Sunday. Seferian-Jenkins was back this week after dealing with a lingering shoulder injury since the first month of the season. He's a fine target with good upside, and fantasy owners in deep leagues should be considering him for a bench spot just in case he blows up during the fantasy playoffs.

    Wednesday Update

GB - RB Eddie Lacy can regain starting job

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy has a chance to regain the starting job after he was demoted for missing curfew ahead of the team's Week 13 game. RB John Crockett was active against the Detroit Lions last week, and Lacy will have to earn a promotion. 'I think Eddie's been rejuvenated,' head coach Mike McCarthy said. 'His work was good today. I checked in on him just like I do with all the players, and I look for him to have a very good week of practice, and I look for him to be productive Sunday.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He may regain the starting job, but fantasy owners are not going to trust him much in the first week of the fantasy playoffs. The Packers have not named a starting running back for Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys.

PHI - RB DeMarco Murray no longer lead back?

Source: Delaware News Journal - Martin Frank

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray may no longer be the team's lead running back, especially with RB Ryan Mathews (concussion) returning to practice Tuesday, Dec. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to proceed with caution here. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur did not confirm that Murray was still the leading running back, and the Eagles remain confident in all of their running backs. In the win over the Patriots in Week 13, Murray had just eight carries for 24 yards--fewer than RBs Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner.

KC - QB Alex Smith protecting the ball

    Source: NFL

Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith has not thrown an interception in 305 attempts, which leads the NFL.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith has predictably been safe with the football this year. However, in recent weeks Smith is also being more aggressive as a passer. Smith is worth streaming at QB in 2QB/QB flex leagues.

ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald youngest to 1,000 catches

    Source: NFL

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald became the youngest player in NFL history to achieve 1,000 catches at 32 years and 97 days old.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzgerald's amazing NFL career will one day end up in Canton, OH. It's a pleasure watching this future Hall of Fame WR go to work on Sunday.

New York Giants TE Larry Donnell (neck) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Will Tye is a player fantasy owners need to add and watch. He's not the athlete that Donnell is, but Tye can provide a much-needed security blanket for Eli Manning.

PIT - TE Heath Miller has chance to play

    Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (ribs) has a chance to play in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller missed Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts, only his eighth career game missed in 11 seasons.

DEN - QB Christian Ponder waived

Denver Broncos QB Christian Ponder was waived Tuesday, Dec. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This could be a sign that Peyton Manning is getting healthier. Manning continues to recover from his foot injury, and some speculate he could be healthy enough to play in a couple of weeks.

SD - WR Vincent Brown signing

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent WR Vincent Brown (Colts) is signing with the San Diego Chargers, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wow. Brown started his career with the Chargers. Coming out of San Diego State, Brown was a crisp route-runner and could make difficult catches. However, injuries and inconsistencies knocked his pro career off track. The Chargers are in desperate need of WR help, but we're not expecting much from Brown.

CHI - TE Martellus Bennett placed on IR

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett (ribs) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 8, as he is dealing with fractured ribs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A bad way for Bennett's season to end. He finishes the 2015 season with 53 catches for 439 yards and three touchdowns. Free-agent TE Rob Housler (Browns) was subsequently signed. Jay Cutler should lean on Zach Miller even more going forward.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews plans on playing

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (concussion) said he plans to play Sunday, Dec. 13, against the Buffalo Bills.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With DeMarco Murray essentially being in the doghouse, we could see Mathews as the starter this week against the Bills. Stay tuned to his practice status, and let's try to feel out this situation as we get closer to Sunday. Bottom line; it's going to be difficult to trust Murray in week one of the fantasy playoffs.

SF - TE Garrett Celek placed on IR

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

San Francisco 49ers TE Garrett Celek (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 8. Free-agent LB Shayne Skov (49ers) was subsequently re-signed to a two-year deal.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Before his injury, Celek was actually make some plays with Blaine Gabbert at QB. Skov is a two-down thumper who arrives at the ball-carrier with natural violence.

BAL - Two tight ends added by Ravens

    Source: WNST

Free-agent TE Richard Gordon (Chiefs) and TE Konrad Reuland (Ravens) were signed to the Baltimore Ravens' 53-man roster Tuesday, Dec. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens have needed to do something with Crockett Gillmore (back) and Maxx Williams (concussion) banged up. Plus, the team just lost Nick Boyle to a four-game suspension. Neither Gordon or Reuland are fantasy factors, but they give the Ravens much needed depth.

CHI - J.J. Worton working out with Bears

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Undrafted free-agent WR J.J. Worton (Central Florida) is working out with the Chicago Bears Tuesday, Dec. 8, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Worton is a return man who can produce field-flipping plays. He doesn't do much as a receiver, but should be considered more of a special teams player.

STL - WR Stedman Bailey might not play again

    Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner

St. Louis Rams WR Stedman Bailey (head) may not play again this year after being shot in the head twice last month. Head coach Jeff Fisher said Bailey continues to make progress in his recovery from surgery. 'Are you asking is there a potential that he doesn't return to play? Yes, there is that potential,' Fisher said. 'We don't know. It's just going to take some time. From a health standpoint, there's a chance that he doesn't play. However, based on what he's done over the last 10 days, he may surprise everybody.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Football doesn't matter at this point. Bailey just needs to concentrate on getting healthy and getting back to full strength. Football will be there for him when he's ready to return.

DEN - RB C.J. Anderson sore

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle) reported considerable soreness Monday, Dec. 7. He'll receive treatment through the week, and his practice time will be impacted.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson was bothered by a toe/ankle injury earlier this year, and that combination caused him to lose his starting job. He's struggled to produce when banged up, but when healthy Anderson can be a RB2/flex play--even as a backup behind Ronnie Hillman. Watch his practice status during the week.

MIA - WR Rishard Matthews likely out again

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews (ribs) is expected to miss the Week 14 game Monday, Dec. 14, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ribs injuries are difficult to come back from. It basically comes down to pain tolerance and how much Matthews can take in order to get back on the field.

PHI - RB DeMarco Murray vents to owner

    Source: ESPN - Ed Werder

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray addressed his frustrations in head coach Chip Kelly's offense with owner Jeffrey Lurie recently.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

So much for not wanting to make a big deal about this. Murray had to be frustrated since he only toted the rock eight times and only played 14 snaps versus the Patriots in Week 13. With Ryan Mathews likely to return to the field in the near future, Murray will be a player we can't trust entering the fantasy playoffs in Week 14.

    Thursday Update

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert limited

    Source: NFL

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (neck) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's still early but the general feeling is that Eifert should be back this week against the Steelers. If he's on the field, then he's a TE1 for fantasy owners.

NO - RB Mark Ingram placed on IR

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (shoulder) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 9, according to a source. He is out for the rest of the year.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ingram has been dealing with shoulder issues for a couple of weeks. He had about 1,200 all-purpose yards this year, and Ingram should be ready to go for OTAs next year. In the meantime, the Saints are likely to move forward with a mix of C.J. Spiller and Tim Hightower.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

David Johnson will be the lead back, and he's worth starting as a RB2 in Week 14. Kerwynn Williams is the change-of-pace back, and he's worth considering as a flex play against an injury-riddled Vikings defense.

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel on short leash

    Source: ESPN.com - Pat McManamon

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel will be on a short leash as the starting quarterback, with head coach Mike Pettine saying that 'repercussions would be harsh' if Manziel has anymore off-field transgressions.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manziel has a month to prove himself on and off the field. From a fantasy lens, Manziel can produce like a low-end QB1. Perhaps he's no long-term option--for any team, but fantasy owners need to realize how scrambling QBs can be fine assets in their fantasy league.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (ribs) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

OAK - WR Michael Crabtree agrees to extension

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree and the Raiders agreed to a contract extension Wednesday, Dec. 9. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crabtree was a great free-agent signing for the Raiders, and they're wise to lock him up. They've now surrounding QB Derek Carr with great receivers like Crabtree and Amari Cooper. Crabtree leads the Raiders in receptions (66), touchdowns (7), and targets (115) so far this season. Cooper has more receiving yards (920) than does Crabtree (760) in 2015.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has taken 32 hits in the last three games, but he said he feels 'fresh as lettuce.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

But does he crop his hair like lettuce? John Wayne fans will get the reference. Brady may not be "The Duke" but he can be the king of your fantasy lineup this week. We love him in Week 14 against the Texans on Sunday night. The Patriots are coming off back-to-back losses, and they should go through the air to win.

Keep an eye on this situation. Bowles also said Revis will need to do more in practice in order for him to have more confidence in Revis.

ATL - WR Julio Jones limited Wednesday

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Meh. It's Wednesday, so we're not too worried. Jones doesn't consider the injury serious, however, despite receiving extensive treatment last weekend.

ARI - Three receivers probable for Week 14

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WRs Larry Fitzgerald (ankle), John Brown (hamstring) and Michael Floyd participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9, and are listed as probable for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Going up against the Vikings on Thursday night, we could see all three of these wide receivers come through in Week 14. We've got Fitzgerald in his normal WR1 spot, while both Floyd and Brown are WR3/flex options.

DEN - WR Demaryius Thomas aware of coverage change

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he has noticed how opponents have adjusted their coverage in how they press at the line of scrimmage.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The defenses against the Broncos are trying to disrupt the timing of the Broncos passing game. With Brock Osweiler in at quarterback, the team is using play-action passing to take some shots downfield. Jamming a receiver at the line (when possible) knocks them off the route and can create problems for a quarterback trying to extend the play.

DEN - RB Ronnie Hillman doesn't practice

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's Wednesday, so we're not really worried but make sure to check back on Friday at the latest. Hillman is the starter, but his backup C.J. Anderson was knocked from the Week 13 Chargers game with an ankle injury. The team needs both backs healthy for what they hope is a deep postseason run.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning making progress

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) is making progress in his recovery from a partially torn plantar fascia. He threw for 30 minutes Wednesday, Dec. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The language of the NFL is money. When the Broncos released fourth-string QB Christian Ponder earlier in the week, it had to be a sign that Manning is getting closer to a return. Should the Broncos go back to Manning, then the design of the offense would change. Brock Osweiler runs the traditional Gary Kubiak system, while Manning runs a hybrid of that mixed with what he likes to do. Stay tuned.

CLE - CB Joe Haden still in concussion protocol

Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden (concussion) is toward the end of the concussion protocol, but he's still in it, according to head coach Mike Pettine.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We haven't seen Haden since Week 5. Haden is close to returning to practice, and Pettine hopes that'll happen in the next few days.

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (shoulder, knee) is out of practice with shoulder and knee injuries Wednesday, Dec. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Schaub may not play this week, but watch to see if he can practice on Friday. QB Jimmy Clausen is taking the first-team repetitions with Schaub out.

IND - WR Phillip Dorsett expected to return

    Source: NFL.com

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts WR Phillip Dorsett (leg) practiced in full Wednesday, Dec. 9, and is expected to return in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dorsett may play, but we're not expecting much from the rookie this week. The Colts offense should be better this week against the Jaguars, but guys like T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief are more likely to produce.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews limited

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (concussion, groin) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mathews should be back this week. He might be the lead back for the Eagles with DeMarco Murray in the team's doghouse. Stay tuned.

DEN - OLB DeMarcus Ware should play

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos LB DeMarcus Ware (back) is expected to play against the Oakland Raiders in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team was close to getting Ware back last week, but they decided to shut him down after a pre-game warmup. The Broncos defense has been operating at a high level with Shaq Barrett and Shane Ray filling in for Ware.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle) is out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson's ankle has bothered him earlier this year...and it seriously impacted his productivity. Even if he plays, we can only recommend Anderson as a RB3/flex play in Week 14 against the Raiders.

Gronkowski may not be ready to come back just yet. Stay tuned to see if he can practice on Friday. It's the first week of the fantasy playoffs, and many of you need to have a different option at the ready in case Gronk can't play.

NO - WR Brandin Cooks suffers concussion in practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett

New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (concussion) missed practice Thursday, Dec. 10, due to a concussion. It is not yet known when the concussion took place but it makes him doubtful for Sunday, Dec. 13, versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's not great for Cooks or the Saints. Willie Snead is the most likely beneficiary and he could put up some WR4 numbers, while tight end Ben Watson looks like a potential TE2.

HOU - DE J.J. Watt has broken hand

    Source: ESPN

Updating earlier reports, Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt (hand) said he broke his left hand in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9, but he's playing Sunday, Dec. 13, against the New England Patriots.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A broken hand is a concern but if he can wear protection on it, than it might not be an issue. He could struggle to tackle people but he can create pressure with or without both hands.

NO - RB Mark Ingram requires surgery

Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune - Katherine Terrell

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (shoulder) will have surgery on his left shoulder to repair a torn rotator cuff Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

And that's that. CJ Spiller will get the nominal starting gig, but Tim Hightower will definitely be in the mix. Right now one could bust out, but it could also be a "hot hand" situation. We have both of them as an RB4 this weekend and will be hesitant with them until we get a clearer picture.

IND - QB Andrew Luck still not ready

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (abdomen, kidney) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hasselbeck will keep the starting job right now, and we don't know when Luck will return. This week, Hasselbeck should have some good success against Jacksonville and we expect QB2 numbers.

CLE - WR Travis Benjamin will be able to play

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns WR Travis Benjamin (shoulder) said he will be able to play in Week 14 against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benjamin has been hot and cold all season, and we expect him to be somewhere in the middle this week against San Francisco. Start him as a WR3/WR4 and you should be ok with his production.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski limited Thursday

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 10, and he wore a protective sleeve/brace on his right knee. Gronkowski was held out of practice all of last week and the game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if he's out this week. The Patriots are desperate for some more weapons, so getting Gronkowski back is important—but not as important as having him fully healthy for the postseason. If he plays, he has TE1 upside, but we'll have to see more from him before we fully commit, especially as the game is so late in the day.

HOU - RB Alfred Blue, RB Chris Polk practice

    Source: NFL

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue (back) and RB Chris Polk (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Polk is the guy we'd throw in our lineup if we had to, but only as an RB4. Blue is no better than an RB6. Overall this is not a great rushing attack, and the Texans' best hope of beating a recently embarrassed and angry Patriots team is to have a giant day from DeAndre Hopkins. Or hope the Patriots' bus falls into an other-dimensional hole on the way to the stadium.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders puts in full practice

    Source: DenverBroncos.com

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle, finger) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders came crashing back down to earth against San Diego last weekend, but we think he'll bounce back at least a little, to about a WR3 level of production. The Broncos are still likely to run the ball as much as they can to keep Brock Osweiler (QB3) in a position where his mistakes are limited. That, in turn, caps the passing offense's value in general and Sanders' specifically.

BAL - Matt Scaub, TE Crockett Gillmore absent

    Source: NFL

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (shoulder, knee) and TE Crockett Gillmore (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Could it be Jimmy Clausen time? If so, run—don't walk—from all of the players on this passing offense. We saw what he did to the Bears, after all. Don't let the horrible fate that befell owners of those players happen to you. If Baltimore is wise, they will run Javorius Allen as much as possible (and we expect it, as we have Allen as an RB2).

NE - WR Danny Amendola limited again

    Source: NFL

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Amendola should see plenty of work against the Houston Texans and we have him as a nice WR2 play this week.

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel a full go

    Source: NFL

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel (elbow) was a full participant in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even though he has some mobility to add rushing yards and faces a mostly shaky defense, we're still a bit leery with Manziel. There are too many issues in the offense around him and too many question marks in terms of what he is capable of to get too excited.

CLE - Three Browns receivers limited

    Source: NFL

Cleveland Browns WRs Travis Benjamin (shoulder), Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and Brian Hartline (hip) were all limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We see Benjamin as a solid WR3, while Hartline is more like a WR5 option against San Francisco this weekend.

TB - WR Vincent Jackson a full participant

    Source: NFL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson is slowly getting his feet back underneath him, and should have some good WR3 production. Rookie quarterback Jameis Winston has bonded with Mike Evans, and Jackson has found himself pushed to the side since his return from injury.

NO - Willie Snead feeling better

Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune - Christopher Dabe

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead (calf) is feeling good after returning to the practice field this week after he sat out in Week 13. 'Coach thought it would be good to take a week. I benefitted from that. I feel good right now,' Snead said. WR Brandon Coleman had four catches for 73 yards and aa touchdown in Snead's place last weekend.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brandin Cooks is dealing with a concussion, so Snead could see a bump. Until it's official that Cooks is out though, we see Snead as no more than a solid WR4 with some upside.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns listed as limited

    Source: NFL

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (back) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Hurns can play, his value should be in the WR3/WR4 range. He's been a very good help for his owners, but don't over-rely on him.

STL - QB Case Keenum, PK Greg Zuerlein practice

    Source: StLouisRams.com

St. Louis Rams QB Case Keenum (concussion) and PK Greg Zuerlein (hip) both practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keenum is a poor choice this weekend, and is no better than a QB4 this week.

NO - WR Marques Colston has full practice

    Source: NFL

New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (non-injury) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Brandin Cooks is out Willie Snead will get the biggest bump, but Marques Colston might see an upswing as well. Colston has been pretty bad for his fantasy owners and even a bump will only get him up to middling and WR5/WR6 status.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson, WR Lance Moore limited

    Source: NFL

Detroit Lions WRs Calvin Johnson (ankle) and Lance Moore (ankle) were both limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We expect Calvin Johnson to be ready to go against St. Louis on Sunday, and he and Matt Stafford have both been heating up (though last week was a down one save for a touchdown). Johnson should put up WR1 numbers this week without a problem as the Rams have nobody who can cover him.

BUF - Limited practice for TE Charles Clay

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clay is hit or miss, and a lot more miss than hit. Our expectations are fair—TE2 numbers—and we believe he'll see plenty of opportunities to meet them.

BUF - RB Karlos Williams misses practice again

Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams (shoulder) sat out of practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We don't expect Williams to play, and even if we did we expect LeSean McCoy to get all the carries. There is no love lose for McCoy when it comes to the City of Brotherly Love, and we expect him to have a revenge-fueled rampage on Sunday, likely putting up some very good RB1 numbers.

ATL - WR Julio Jones not worried about knee

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - Michael Cunningham

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (knee) said he doesn't expect to have any issues with his knee in Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers. 'The knee is great,' Jones said. 'I plan on practicing today. I don't think it's anything where I'm going to miss time.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There are enough issues around Jones to see him go from a high-end WR1 to a more modest WR1. It's not exactly like he became trash, but it does make a difference and he is facing a very tough matchup in the Carolina Panthers and Josh Norman. So start him, but know that he could have a tough time of it and you might sweat a little.

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (knee) and TE Zach Miller (ribs) were limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We aren't feeling too good about either player right now and wouldn't start either one. Miller is no more than a TE3, while Royal is not worth having in your lineup at all.

Denver Broncos TE Vernon Davis (concussion) will be ready to play against the Oakland Raiders in Week 14 after being cleared from the concussion protocol.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis hasn't contributed much so far this year and we have little expectation that is going to change on a consistent enough basis to put him in your lineup. Start him as a TE3 is you have no other choice, but we don't expect much from him.

NYJ - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick takes part in practice

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (thumb) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Shockingly, Ryan Fitzpatrick has had two straight games without a late-game, drive killing interception and is coming off a 390 yard, two-touchdown game against the New York Giants. He should be good for some big numbers again this weekend and is worth a start as a QB1. His price in daily fantasy makes him almost too good to resist as well.

NYJ - Top two Jets WRs fully practice

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (ankle, ribs) and WR Eric Decker (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Both players should be good to go on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Shockingly both of these two players could be over 1,000 yards by year's end. Marshall, who has WR1 potential this weekend, is already there and has ten touchdowns, while Decker (who we see as a solid WR2) is just 200 yards short and has eight touchdowns. We're just as shocked to type that as you are to read it.

DEN - RB Ronnie Hillman, RB C.J. Anderson sit out

    Source: NFL.com

Denver Broncos RBs Ronnie Hillman (foot) and C.J. Anderson (ankle) both sat out of practice Thursday, Dec. 10, but a source said both running backs are expected to practice fully Friday, Dec. 11, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see what happens, but we suspect that they will be good to go on Sunday. The two split carries, which limits their individual impact. Hillman is likely to put up RB4 numbers while Anderson will be closer to RB5 production.

KC - TE Travis Kelce has full practice

    Source: KCChiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (groin) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

San Diego's defense has been such a mess that it's easy to think Kelce will tear it up. You should be able to start him as a TE1 and see a lot of production. Kelce is a tremendous tight end—he even makes Alex Smith look great.

SD - QB Philip Rivers, TE Ladarius Green full go

    Source: Chargers.com

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers (foot) and TE Ladarius Green (ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With the injuries to his offensive line and receivers, Rivers is no more than a low-end QB2. Green normally wouldn't be worth a start but there are so few options in the offense, we expect him to see a higher than average amount of targets, which makes him an OK TE2 this week against Kansas City.

PIT - TE Heath Miller limited

    Source: Steelers.com

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (rib) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if he plays and if he does, we expect the ribs to limit him a bit making him a low-end TE2 against Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (neck) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert has been tremendous this season and has more receiving touchdowns than anyone else in the NFL. He will add to that this weekend against Pittsburgh and we expect TE1 production from him.

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, knee) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Matt Cassel throwing the ball, expect Bryant to put up WR2 numbers. The Packers defense is a bit inconsistent, but so is Matt Cassel so it evens out. Bryant is a great player but will be a bit limited because of the quarterback.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning throws some more

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) did the same routine again Thursday, Dec. 10, throwing and doing drill work. Manning felt good after Wednesday, Dec. 9, but he will not play again in Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The decision will be coming. Do the Broncos go back to Peyton Manning or does the era of Brock Osweiler continue? We don't know, but what we do know is this offense right now is limiting what Osweiler has to do. As that is the case, he is no more than a QB3 even against a shaky Oakland defense.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews back to full practice

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (concussion, groin) was back to a full practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mathews is a better fit than DeMarco Murray for the Eagles offense but he still gets only part of the carries. That limits his ceiling a bit, and we have him as a borderline RB2/RB3.

PHI - QB Sam Bradford, TE Zach Ertz fully practice

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bradford isn't a strong start against Buffalo, and we would start him as no more than a QB3. Ertz should make a strong TE2 against Buffalo though.

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis (concussion) said he expects to play in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's not a good sign for the Titans, even if Revis is only a fraction of his old self. That should be enough for the Titans passing offense, such as it is.

True, maybe why point spread has doubled from 6 1/2 to 13 at most books. He was worthless in week 3 against Seattle playing for Chicago.

    Saturday Update

DEN - RB Ronnie Hillman, RB C.J. Anderson questionable

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos RBs Ronnie Hillman (foot) and C.J. Anderson (ankle) are both questionable for Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders. Anderson did not practice Friday, Dec. 11, and Hillman was limited.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hillman is a low-end RB2 and with Anderson we're not even sure that he's going to play. We may see more from Juwan Thompson with Anderson banged up.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson questionable

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for the Week 14 game against the St. Louis Rams.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're going to consider Johnson a low-end WR1 if he plays against the Rams. We're expecting him to play on Sunday.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski questionable

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Aaron Wilson

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (knee) is questionable to face the Houston Texans in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

NFL rules say questionable means a 50/50 chance to play. However, this is the Patriots and we really have no idea what's going on with their injured players. Have Scott Chandler or someone like Austin Seferian-Jenkins ready in case Gronk can't play.

NE - WR Julian Edelman won't return this week

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Aaron Wilson

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) has been ruled out for Week 14 against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. We'll see more from Danny Amendola and Brandon LaFell this week against the Texans.

NO - WR Brandin Cooks listed as probable

    Source: NFL.com

Updating previous reports, New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (head) practiced in full Friday, Dec. 11, and is probable to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, according to head coach Sean Payton.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Well, alrighty then. Cooks didn't have a concussion, and he has cleared the concussion protocol. Start him as a WR2 with upside in Week 14.

SD - Stevie Johnson, WR Dontrelle Inman out

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Tom Krasovic

San Diego Chargers WRs Stevie Johnson (groin) and Dontrelle Inman (neck) have both been ruled out for Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Avoid the Chargers offense if you can. They're not running the ball well, and even change-of-pace back Danny Woodhead has been disappointing as of late. Without Johnson and Inman, the team will turn to TE Antonio Gates and WR Malcom Floyd more than ever. We're still not excited about this offense, especially against the Chiefs in Week 14.

IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck probable

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (neck, back) practiced in full Friday, Dec. 11, and he's probable for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The old veteran didn't have a great day against the Steelers last week, but things should be quite different this week versus the Jaguars. He's a QB2 with upside.

BUF - RB Karlos Williams out for Week 14

    Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams (shoulder) is out for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Looks like Mike Gillislee will once again be the primary backup behind LeSean McCoy.

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel probable

    Source: NFL

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel (elbow) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 11, and is listed as probable for the Week 14 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're interested to see what Manziel can do now that he has another chance to be the team's starter. From a fantasy lens, Manziel could be worth starting as a low-end QB1. For the first week of the fantasy playoffs, you need to have a better option.

CLE - TE Gary Barnidge's status in question

    Source: NFL

Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 11, and is listed as questionable for the Week 14 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We've still got Barnidge as a TE1 this week. However, this ankle injury and QB Johnny Manziel make him a riskier start than he normally is.

SEA - RB Marshawn Lynch, TE Jimmy Graham rehabbing

    Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hernia) and TE Jimmy Graham (knee) were both at team headquarters this week rehabbing following their surgeries. Lynch is out again in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens, while Graham's season is over.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Head coach Pete Carroll said it's too soon to put a timetable on Lynch's return. Carroll said the team expects Graham to be back for the start of next season.

SF - WR Anquan Boldin should play

    Source: NFL

San Francisco 49ers WR Anquan Boldin (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 11, and is listed as probable for the Week 14 game against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We've got Boldin as a low-end WR2 or flex play in Week 14.

SF - TE Vance McDonald to miss game

    Source: NFL

San Francisco 49ers TE Vance McDonald (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 11, and has been ruled out for the Week 14 game against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch out for rookie Blake Bell. The converted Oklahoma quarterback was one of our favorite tight ends in this year's draft class. He's big, physical and athletic...a fine combination for the position.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders, TE Owen Daniels probable

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle, finger) and TE Owen Daniels (knee) are listed as probable for Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders. Both Daniels and Sanders were full participants in practice Friday, Dec. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We've got Sanders as a WR2 with upside. If you can flex him then even better. Daniels is a low-end TE2.

DEN - TE Vernon Davis, Andrew Caldwell questionable

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos TE Vernon Davis (concussion) and WR Andre Caldwell (quadriceps) are both questionable for Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis might be worth considering as a TE2 with upside this week against the Raiders.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper will play Sunday

    Source: NFL

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (foot) was limited in practice the last two days but is probable for Week 14 against the Denver Broncos.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper is more of a WR2/WR3 against a tough Broncos defense in Week 14.

TB - WR Vincent Jackson listed as probable

    Source: NFL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) practiced in full for the second straight day Friday, Dec. 11, and is probable to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We call the Saints the "Oprah" defense because everyone gets a touchdown! Jackson is a low-end WR2 with upside.

NO - Willie Snead, WR Marques Colston probable

    Source: NFL

New Orleans Saints WRs Willie Snead (calf) and Marques Colston (non-injury) are both listed as probable against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14. Snead was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 11, while Colston was a full participant.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Now that we know Brandin Cooks is going to play it negatively impacts the fantasy value of Snead and Colston. We've got Snead as a WR4 and Colston as a WR6 this week against the Bucs.

BUF - TE Charles Clay probable against Philly

    Source: NFL

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) was limited in practice all week but is probable for Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We've got Clay as a TE2 with upside. The offense wants to run the ball as much as possible, but there's going to be routes open up over the middle for Clay.

BAL - TE Crockett Gillmore, WR Marlon Brown doubtful

    Source: NFL.com

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore (back) and WR Marlon Brown (back) are both doubtful for Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners have better options anyway.

BAL - QB Matt Schaub questionable

    Source: NFL.com

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (chest) did not practice Friday, Dec. 11, but is questionable for Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If a player doesn't practice on Friday, they usually don't play on Sunday. If Schaub doesn't play, QB Jimmy Clausen would be the starter.

DAL - Probable status for WR Dez Bryant

    Source: DallasCowboys.com

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, knee) practiced in full all week and is probable to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys would be wise to get Bryant involved early this week. With Matt Cassel at QB, we've dropped Bryant to the WR2 range. He does have upside if the team starts to use him more in the first half.

SD - QB Philip Rivers should play

    Source: Chargers.com

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 11, and is listed as probable for the Week 14 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Only start Rivers if you're desperate. The Chargers have given up, and Rivers will be without Stevie Johnson and Dontrelle Inman this week.

SF - RB Carlos Hyde won't travel with team

    Source: NFL.com

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (foot) will not travel with the team to face the Cleveland Browns in Week 14, according to head coach Jim Tomsula.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Why is he not on Injured Reserve? Shaun Draughn is starting again, and we've got him as a low-end RB1 in PPR leagues in Week 14.

PIT - TE Heath Miller expected to play

    Source: Steelers.com

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (rib) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 11, and is listed as probable for the Week 14 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger. However, we can only recommend Miller as a TE2 in Week 14. You likely have a better option at the position.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning throws, does drills

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) did the same drills again Friday, Dec. 11, and also threw and did light drill work. It's unclear if he will watch practice from the sidelines or be in the locker room.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If he watches from the sidelines, expect the camera to be fixated on the veteran quarterback. He's still a week or two away from actually being healthy enough to play. The Broncos will continue to monitor Brock Osweiler as they finish out the regular season. Manning may have to get comfortable with the idea that he'll be the backup to Osweiler when he's able to play.

ATL - WR Julio Jones, TE Jacob Tamme probable

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (knee) and TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) both practiced in full Friday, Dec. 11, and are probable to face the Carolina Panthers in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's week one of the fantasy playoffs in most leagues, so you're starting Jones..even in a tough matchup. Tamme is a TE2, and you likely have better options this week.

    Sunday Update

SD - QB Philip Rivers battling flu

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers (illness, foot) is battling a flu bug, but one team official said it would take more than that to keep him out Sunday, Dec. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not recommending Rivers as a starter this week against the Chiefs. He should play, but things could be tough for the veteran quarteback with both WRs Stevie Johnson and Dontrelle Inman declared out.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski travels with team

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (knee) traveled with the team to Houston Saturday, Dec. 12, but he's questionable to play in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Get ready to start Gronkowski if you own him. If he plays, then you have to get him in your lineup.

BAL - QB Matt Schaub not expected to play

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (chest) is not expected to play in the Week 14 game against the Seattle Seahawks because of his chest injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

QB Jimmy Clausen likely will start if Schaub is ruled out. Every DFS player should try and stack the Seahawks defense with Thomas Rawls in Week 14.

SF - RB Carlos Hyde's season over

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (foot) was placed on Injured Reserve Saturday, Dec. 12. TE Brian Leonhardt was promoted to the active roster.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Finally. The 49ers waited for a long time before shutting Hyde down for the season. He never matched the 168 yard performance from Week 1 against the Vikings, but Hyde was a solid starter for the 49ers when he was on the field. He'll have plenty of time to heal and should be ready to go by the time OTAs start in 2016.

MIA - WR Jarvis Landry good to go

    Source: MiamiDolphins.com

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (knee) practiced fully Saturday, Dec. 12, and he's probable for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Landry is good to go, but fantasy owners are hesitant to play him after the poor performance of the Dolphins passing attack last week. We've got Landry as a low-end WR2 in Week 14.

SD - QB Brad Sorensen promoted

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Michael Gehlken

San Diego Chargers QB Brad Sorensen was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday, Dec. 12, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Philip Rivers is dealing with an illness, and the team just needed some depth at the position. Sorensen will be the QB3 for the Chargers behind Rivers and Kellen Clemens.

CHI - WR Marquess Wilson goes to IR
    Source: ChicagoBears.com
Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for the speedy receiver here. The Bears offense will be without a vertical threat with Wilson out for the rest of the year. Entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2016, Wilson will have to show he can stay healthy and be more consistent in the Bears passing game if he wants to stay in Chicago.

PHI - WR Jordan Matthews questionable

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) is listed as questionable for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're already down on the Eagles offense and Matthews is only a WR3 or flex option against the Bills.

BAL - Bryn Renner, WR Chris Matthews added to roster

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens QB Bryn Renner and WR Chris Matthews were promoted from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Dec. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Renner should give the team depth behind likely starter Jimmy Clausen. Matthews failed to build off the big game he had in the Super Bowl last year, and he'll give the Ravens some depth at wide receiver.

WAS - RB Pierre Thomas may play in Week 14

    Source: CSN Mid-Atlantic - Tarik El-Bashir

Washington Redskins RB Pierre Thomas could receive some playing time against the Chicago Bears in Week 14 even though he joined the team earlier this week and participated in one practice, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even if he does play, we're not expecting much from Thomas. The seasoned veteran is a good all-purpose back, but not much of a fantasy factor with his new team.

NE - WR Danny Amendola expected to play

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) is expected to play in the Week 14 game against the Houston Texans even though he is listed as questionable for the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

You just never know with Patriots players because they are quite clandestine when it comes to the injury report. We're expecting Amendola to play, and he should be relied on as a WR2 or flex play against the Texans in Week 14.

    Monday Update

CIN - QB Andy Dalton has fractured hand

    Source: ESPN.com - Coley Harvey

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (hand) said he has a fracture in his hand and is scheduled to meet with a hand specialist Monday, Dec. 14. Head coach Marvin Lewis said Dalton will not be able to play in Week 15 but would not say he will miss more time.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

AJ McCarron will be entrusted with a playoff team. They need to win again to clinch the division, but matchups against San Francisco and Baltimore should make that easier. A bye, on the other hand, could slip away if McCarron can't beat Denver in Week 16.

SEA - Thomas Rawls out for season

    Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) suffered a broken ankle during the team's Week 14 game will miss the rest of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

DuJuan Harris was bottled up easily by a good Baltimore run defense that Rawls was shredding. It is unlikely that Marshawn Lynch can return for next week's game. It appears Fred Jackson's role will remain limited no matter what happens to the other back. We might not have a Seattle back to trust next week.

CAR - QB Cam Newton rests late in blowout

    Source: The Associated Press

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (elbow) completed 15 of his 21 pass attempts for 265 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 14 game against the Atlanta Falcons. He also ran three times for just four yards. Newton was forced out for one play in the second quarter after hitting his funny bone on a helmet, but was able to return. He was lifted in the fourth quarter to rest with the game well in hand.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Newton has been masterful for most of this season. He is an elite top 5 option next week at the Giants.

CAR - WR Ted Ginn makes touches count

    Source: The Associated Press

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. had just two receptions in the Week 14 game against the Atlanta Falcons, but the catches were a 74-yard touchdown and a 46-yard score. He was targeted three times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ginn usually has to drop one touchdown for everyone he catches, but today he reeled in both of the deep shots that were put on his hands when he was wide open. He'll be worth a look as an upside flex in Week 15 at the Giants.

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman rushed 12 times for just 40 yards in the Week 14 game against the Carolina Panthers, and he had three catches for 22 yards with one fumble lost.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman looked like an elite RB1 earlier this year, but he is running out of steam. Good thing the Jags are up next week, but in the all-important Week 16, the merciless Panthers defense is up again.

ATL - Matt Ryan lifted in blowout

    Source: The Associated Press

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 22 of 34 pass attempts for 224 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the blowout loss in Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers. He also fumbled twice, losing one before being lifted in the second half for QB Sean Renfree.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ryan is still a streaming option next week despite his terrible play of late because he faces the woeful Jags pass defense. That being said, he won't be drafted in many leagues next year.

CHI - QB Jay Cutler overcomes family tragedy

Source: The Associated Press - Andrew Seligman

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler threw for 315 yards and two touchdowns Sunday, Dec. 13, in a 24-21 loss to the Washington Redskins. Cutler practiced and played despite a family tragedy. A body believed to be Cutler's brother-in-law, Michael Cavallari, was found in Utah earlier in the week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cutler was very creative and accounted for most of the Bears offense today. He'll be worth a look for streamers against the Vikings next week.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed has 100-yard game

Source: The Associated Press - Andrew Seligman

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed had nine receptions and 120 yards to go with a touchdown in a 24-21 win over the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reed was dominant after the catch and fueled the Washington offense. He's a must start next week against the Bills defense that Zach Ertz lit up today.

CLE - TE Gary Barnidge finds end zone

    Source: The Associated Press

Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge caught five passes for 84 yards and one touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barnidge is transcending the quarterback play and even elevating it with his excellent work in the middle of the field. He's a good play next week against a Seattle defense that can have trouble defending the tight end.

CLE - RB Isaiah Crowell scores twice

    Source: The Associated Press

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crowell had the best afternoon of his career against the 49ers defense that has sometimes disappeared on the road this year. He won't be worth a start against Seattle next week and Week 16's game at Kansas City isn't promising, but he's still worth an add just in case.

IND - RB Frank Gore slowed Sunday

Source: The Associated Press - Mark Long

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 16 times for 60 yards Sunday, Dec. 13, in a 51-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gore is slowing down, but giving his all. If Andrew Luck returns next week, he could still be worth an RB2 play, but the 32-year-old needs scoring opportunities.

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel plays well

    Source: The Associated Press

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel went 21-for-31 for 270 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manziel was reasonably effective as a passer and kept the offense on time and productive. There's at least a little hope for the future in this win for Cleveland. Next week against Seattle on the road might not be so rosy.

JAX - QB Blake Bortles has four second-half scores

Source: The Associated Press - Mark Long

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles passed for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth score Sunday, Dec. 13, as the Jaguars beat the Indianapolis Colts 51-16. Bortles threw for 250 yards on 16 of 30 passing and threw TDs to WR Allen Hurns, WR Allen Robinson and TE Julius Thomas.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bortles has been one of the biggest surprises of the year in fantasy leagues. His play isn't always pretty, but his quality receivers and downfield passing prowess have created a breakout season. He's a QB1 against Atlanta next week.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz productive in Week 14

    Source: The Associated Press

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz caught five passes for 98 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz came alive as a downfield option and might be playable in Week 15 against an Arizona defense that has been giving up good days to tight ends lately.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles leads team in rushing

    Source: The Associated Press

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown on seven carries against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. RB Ryan Mathews rushed for 38 yards on 13 carries, while RB DeMarco Murray rushed for 34 yards on 11 carries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A mess, as expected. There's no play in the Eagles backfield against a tough Arizona defense next week.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins finds end zone

    Source: The Associated Press

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins caught five passes for 81 yards and one touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins reeled in a deep ball for a long score early, but otherwise was inconsistent and a lesser option than Robert Woods. He's still a boom/bust WR1/WR2 that demands a spot in your lineup against Washington next week.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy has over 100 total yards

    Source: The Associated Press

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 75 yards on 20 carries against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. He also caught four passes for 35 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy started hot, but slowed down in the second half, and the rushing touchdown this afternoon for the Bills was scored by backup Mike Gilleslee. McCoy is still a fantasy RB1 heading to Washington next week.

CAR - RB Jonathan Stewart should be fine

    Source: Panthers.com - Max Henson

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) will be fine after he suffered a foot injury during the team's Week 14 game, according to head coach Ron Rivera.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stewart will be an RB1 entering a matchup at the Giants next week. He was able to rip off a 44-yard run and score before he left the blowout.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon has knee injury

    Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (knee) suffered a sprained knee during the team's Week 14 game and his status will be updated Monday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Denard Robinson was impressive in Yeldon's absence and could get more work next week against Atlanta even if Yeldon can play.

IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck unable to finish game

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Wells

Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (ribs) left the team's Week 14 game because of injured ribs and was not able to return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Andrew Luck might be ready to return next week, and this development combined with the importance of the game with Houston could effectively change the return to play threshold.

Luck will NOT play this week. Pagano said that he expects Hasselbeck to start. If he cannot go, then it would be Jesus Christ:

    Charlie Whitehurst
