Ohio University TT over 28
After the upset in week one to 17-point dog Texas State, Solich’s Bobcats will give max effort this week. OU owned a 630-546 total yardage edge, and more importantly, a clear edge in the rushing game (250 total/4.9 ypc vs. 106/2.5). Note at outset: TSU/OU W1 being an OT game means total yards/TD stats are inflated a bit. Thirteen penalties for 141 yards helped to undo the Bobcats, and that’s not characteristic of a Frank Solich team, whose teams normally commit not even half of that. That will be Solich’s focus this week. Expect to OU get those cleaned up and it will be a knife through butter vs the Jayhawks this weekend. Speaking of Kansas, they won their first game since two Novembers ago last week (55-6 versus Rhode Island) and spaz Jayhawk fans stormed the field. Yes, they stormed the field after beating Rhode Island (School of Design, perhaps?) by 49. URI ran the ball reasonably well (170/4.3), but couldn’t pass at all (6-23/49 yards). The Bobcats ability to move the ball through the air will make all the difference (9 different players caught a pass in W1; 8.4 ypa pass). Fifth-year senior QB Greg Windham and OU’s offense should make like Barry Windham and the late 80's Four Horsemen, clawholding KU and generating close to 40 points against the feckless Jayhawk defense.
