One Early and One Late For Today

Went 2-1 last night. Today i have 2 more plays, one early and one late. Low volume that is key.

Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays

I wold like to say that Buck Farmer will be in for a long afternoon, but he very well nay hit the showers by the 3rd inning in this game. He has made 4 starts for the Tigers this year, with all 4 games being on the road and he has a 7.90 ERA in those starts. The Tigers are 0-4 in those starts and have been outscored by 6 rpg in the process. Now he takes on an offense that has scored 5.47 rpg at home and 7.5 rpg in their last 10 games overall, outscoring foes by 3.6 rpg in those last 10. Buck Farmer will get lit up in this one.

The Jays send out Drew Hutchison, who has pitched awful on the road, but at home he is 10-1 with a 2.57 ERA and the Jays have outscored their foes by 2.77 rpg in his home starts. They have won his last 6 overall starts and have beat their foes by 2 runs or more in 5 of those games. The Tigers have scored 4.4 rpg in their last 10 games, but they are hitting just .229 vs righties over that stretch and have scored just 3 rpg off of them in their last 10 games.

Buck Farmer may exit early, but overall this should be a very long afternoon for the Tigers.

Take Toronto -1.5 (-130) over Detroit

    Chicago Cubs/ Los Angeles Dodgers

Yes both starters come in with elevated ERs in their last 3 starts, but this still has the feel of a ow scoring. Lester's ERA is elevated thanks to one bad start vs the Tigers, in which he allowed 7 ERs, but overall he allowed 2 ERs or fewer in 6 of has last 7 starts. He did have a bad start vs the Dodgers this year, but this LA offense is not in good form right now, having scored just 2.8 rpg and are again without Puig. Also they have hit righties at just .175 in their last 10 games.

Mat Latos has not pitched well for the Dodgers so far, but the Cubs are struggling to score right now as they have put up just 4 total runs in their last 3 games. Mat has a 6.35 ERA at home this year, but a better 4.21 ERA in his 2 home starts at Dodger Stadium. In his career he has 8 starts in this park and is 1-6 in those starts, but with a very nice 3.55 ERA, which indicates low scoring games.

Neither offense is hitting all that well right now and the pitching is more than capable of keeping it that way, especially in this park.

Going Under 7 in this one.
