    Thursday, April 5th

    St.Brieuc Challenger: Rochette +110
    WTA Charleston: Hercog +180

Hercog is probably a TI burial in the making, but at the price there is no reason not to try against Bartoli who up until last year was a fringe player on clay at-best who was about a 50%-er.

Hey man is it just me or does it seem like Lucie Safarova should win today. Wozniak has been struggling and Safarova has been returning serves well and holding her own. What do you think? She just really has been impressive.

Well DOO DOO played like the shite he is today..

Teixeira seems like good fodder to ad into a 2 teamer today..

And ITO on hard is a good dog play, even with the cheater's good form of late.

Another parlay works out well, so why not another ..

Parlay: Odesnik (Tallahassee) + Zvonareva (Charleston) [-123]
Like Odesnik better here against Ito. These courts have jived real well with Odesnik over the last two trips here and I think his serve is a shade better.

Melzer on clay in Spain against Almagro? No way. In Austria, maybe a puncher's chance. Leaning toward this ..

Davis Cup Tripod: Almagro + Tsonga + Nalbandian -120

Have a hard time seeing any of them losing a best of 5. Almagro the better clay courter over Melzer. Tsonga > Harrison. Clay choice there a little surprising maybe ... or maybe not since it will impact Harrison more than Isner. Nalabandian over Cilic. Don't think Cilic is quite ready to compete in a grinder against Nalbandian on dirt.

                      Also without a doubt ...

                      Isner +110
I'm amazed that all of Isner's Davis Cup rubbers have come on clay. He has acquitted himself well just about every time against some of the best of the best. Simon hasn't done shit this season and his experience in Davis Cup is actually less than Isner's.

                        Adding ...

                        St.Brieuc Challenger: Teixeira -140
Defending Champ still looking strong this week. Gojowczyk is the opponent. Playing well at the scene of his first pro title and in his home country, I think there is an edge for him.

First two legs of this home pretty easy. Almagro crushed Melzer in straights. Tsonga won in 4. Nalbandian starts around 8:30am CT. Hopefully he'll finish Cilic off in 4 or less w/little sweat.

Isner dumps Simon in straights. Team USA still very much alive. Likely comes down to Tsonga v. Isner on Sunday as long as the Bryans do their thing tomorrow.

Bryan Brothers took care of business, so Team USA with two shots to take out France. Isner v. Tsonga and Harrison v. Simon if needed. Seems to me that it's really all on Isner to finish it. Not that Simon is a sure thing, but not sure that Harrison in a pressure situation on clay is really what you want to see if you're the US. I think Isner can do it. Have to think about if I want to take a shot on it or not, but @ +140 that seems pretty fair.

                                              Davis Cup: Isner +125
Price dropped. I'm still on it. All the pressure is on Tsonga even though you could make a case that this might more or less be a win or go home match for Isner too with Harrison v. Simon the 5th and deciding rubber if Tsonga wins here. I think the win in Sweden over Federer is really something that Isner can use and should be factored in here. This figures to be a good one, but I'm going with the Big Tie Break to give the frogs the fukkin' boot!

Isner takes out the trash. USA rolls into the semifinals ... unexpected I think. You really have to question some of these home countries and their surface choice against the US. I think they don't want to give them a better chance by playing on a hard court, but they don't seem to realize that their own players are probably better suited to a certain surface. Choosing clay with Tsonga leading the way did not seem wise. Oh well, adios Frogs!

I despise Donald Young on the molecular level. Odds may be a bit wonky, but I don't see how you could have any confidence in Young with what he's shown this season. Seems like everyone keeps taking Young because they think it's going to be the match where he turns it around. I still think people are stuck on stupid with this guy. If you look at his body of work at the ATP level in the last year, he's had two-maybe three good spurts but people seem to think that he's "on the rise" or that he had a great 2011.

Interesting that he normally plays the Houston event, but chose Casablanca this year. I do agree Paire probably shouldn't be this big a favorite on clay ... but he's shown more in losing to top notch competition than Young has shown .. period.

All things being equal, I think Fognini is the better talent on clay. If he had more match play under his belt, I think the price would be close to a pick em type line. I'm expecting improvement from Fognini now that he got to shake off the rust from being out so long due to injury last week. I may be overzealous in what I expect from him, but I'm not deterred by the results for him last week in his first matches back in months.

Jeremy Chardy is the opponent, ATP's version of a Box of Chocolates because you never know what you're gonna get with that frog. Still, I think this is a decent spot to try Delbonis. The Argentine has run through qualis in Casablance with minimal effort, so his feel for the courts should give him a bit of an edge. Chardy hasn't played since the hard court swing in Miami, so he's transitioning back to dirt in this spot. His track record indicates that's not exactly a strong suit for the Frenchman. This will likely come down to serve. When Delbonis serves well, he's a difficult player on this surface. If Chardy serves well, then this will be tough. Here's to hoping he shows up in a giving mood.
