Good luck Eagles. I love the Galung and Kavcic picks, Verdasco is a mess but I am hoping that his forehand can hold up today.

Just remember fellas, don't chase on the first day. If you get whipped on the 3, 4 or 5 picks you make. Take your beating and don't turn 0-3 into 0-6 or 0-7 and a massive hole from the opening day. I've taken my share of losses on Day 1 of Grand Slams and that is the best advice I can give. Outline your picks at the beginning of the night and stick to your original plays.

Sweet. Kavcic wins, so at least I can't go 0-fer! Tomic is gonna kill this parlay pretty damn quick with the way he's playing. Seems like he lost his concentration when he failed to convert a couple break points in the 1st set. About to go down 0-2.

              Adding ....

              Beck-Prodon Under 35.5 [-107]
              Monaco +150

You see the drop in the Wozi match??.Guess it has to do with her injury? Rodionova down from +1500 to +700..

Ep, the way the weather is , I think taking crazy fit players might be worth a future..Fish comes to mind for one. Dont think he will wilt at 120 on the court like others would..

I don't think it's going to be as hot the next week from the forecast i saw. Two hot days to start then temps in the 80s tops from the ten day I saw. I go on form, weather can be a factor, but it's awfully tough to know from match to match who might be effected. Why didn't we auto fade the Donkey? Dipshit is gonna lose to Cipolla. He really should consider retirement. No major shocks yet though ... although Pennetta is struggling so far.

He blew it. Up 6-5 with Verdasco at 0-40 and he couldn't put it away. He had an easy putaway at 30-40 and put it into the net.

Dolgo is now down a break in the 2nd. He's playing like ass. He just hit an easy approach shot so wide it was like he did it on purpose.

When I played NCAA tennis at SMU, Dallas, Texas in the late 70s, I once hit with Borg for about 5 minutes before the security guard saw me and asked me to leave. Borg would wear his outer socks over his warm up pants. On the court warming up for the WTC tennis finals tournament at the SMU courts were Eddie Dibbs and Arthur Ashe. That was a great time in my life: meeting Bud Collins, Panatta, Dibbs and Ashe within a few days time.

Gasquet draws Seppi who usually battles well, but just does not have the game suited to harder surfaces. He's under .500 for his career on it and is just 5-10 on the surface since January 2011. That included a loss to Gasquet in Brisbane in 2011. Gasquet was tripped up by Istomin in Sydney. Not hugely concerned with that result as Gasquet does usually play well in Melbourne, having made the 3rd round at-worst in four of his last five trips here. Zopp draws the local wildcard Duckworth and while Zopp isn't going to wow you, he's picked up wins in qualis here and generally looks more of "the part" of a guy capable of winning here than Duckworth. Duckworth has limited experience all-around and Zopp should take advantage of that here. Might drop a set, but should prevail.

                                                                      Russell +105

Chela has not played yet in 2011 while Russell has plenty of match play. Chela usually plays some preps in Australia and that hasn't helped in the past as he's lost three straight in the 1st round here. Russell has won two of his last three openers here. This will still probably be a battle, but if Russell can grind in the heat - the heat may wear down Chela more today.

                                                                      Vasselin +150
Very uncertain of Malisse's desire to play singles at this stage in his career. He had a poor 2011 season mostly and is 1-9 on hard courts since last year's Indian Wells tournament. Vasselin has proven tough on this surface on occassion when his serve stays stout - winning two Challengers last year. Malisse is the more talented, but this is a winnable match for ERV if Malisse comes with his B game.

                                                                      Rosol +200
