Yeah, I've had lines up for a couple of days at a few books. But I never bet early. Sometimes I lose out on getting the best price that way but other times I miss out on info that comes out by putting my money on too soon. Will be making my bets in a couple of hours once I finish doing my contest entries.

Not good. Part of me just wants to wait and bet match by match because the stop and start thing really screws up any kind of analysis you can do beforehand. But with the time difference that'd mean committing myself to staying up all night. Ugh, I'll see how I go I guess.

If the forecast holds, the first two matches on each court have good probabilities of going mostly interrupted depending on the playing time of each. Not really sure why they don't start before Noon local time.

Yeah I have no clue. I had thought they were starting at 11am. Even better for me as it gives me more time to get things sorted.

Kavcic lost Haider-Maurer, whom I watched and he really sucks on grass. He plays no winners, super one dimensional game - just tries to get ball over the net and waits for opponents mistakes.

Pironkova didn't do anything against Serena. She was the recipient of a gifted set thanks to a player returning to the court after a lengthy injury. If anything, she should've won the match. Pironkova has played one grass match this year - that one. Last year she had a good streak at Wimbledon but the week before that, she lost to Watson who was ranked in the 300's at the time. I'm just going with numbers on this one and taking the player who has come up through qualies. That's why I'm on the handicap and not the ML.

As for Benesova, take a look at Zahlavova's record lately. Two wins out of her last 11 matches - against Dekmeijere and Bastianon. One has no rank, the other is ranked 676. So to me I'm getting a good price fading a player who is in the rubbish bin right now.

I'll see how I go. If I'm in a position to hedge later on to guarantee some money, I might. If I do, I'll post it in here.

The first round is always a bit of a crapshoot. Some of these players we haven't seen in weeks so you have to hope they're motivated and healthy. But you can pick off some good odds on dogs which is always nice. The tennis forum is a good little secret on SBR - the regulars in here really know their tennis and you can tell the difference between them and the sell your house and put it on this play types who only show up for Slams.
