To Win The Tournament: Stefanos Tsitsipas, 13.00 on Bet365

Having a good look at the draw and getting a good look at him last week I saw enough to like his form to make a run and beat Nishikori and possibly Nadal who hasn't played professionally since Wimbledon. He knows he has 600 points to defend and the top half is a bit weaker then the bottom even though he could possibly play Fritz/Monfils/Bautista.
He beat Nadal at home on clay in Madrid and wasn't too far off in Rome so I think he will learn from those and make amends. He's made two Masters finals so he knows what he needs to do. Seperating himself from the pack of the nextgen with a Masters win would be a big statement to the big three and the rest of the tour.
Kyrgios had his run to collect points so he is as close to seeded as possible for the US, Tsitsipas doesn't have to worry about that. Aside from having his points to defend.
And hell, its about time we had someone new lol.Comment -

#587I'm glad you mentioned he's made two Master's finals. He'll be unfazed against any of the big-timers here. It's time for him to start submitting his application to join the new big four.
I even heard rumors that Andy Murray had a secret meeting with him (lol). I don't know what they discussed.Comment -

#594333 - 339 - 25 (45.651u)
ATP Montreal Masters 1000, Mens Singles, Final
Rafael Nadal vs Daniil Medvedev
Moneyline: Daniil Medvedev, 3.27 on Pinnacle
Stake: 2u play
Nadal has defended the majority of his points here going into Cincinnati where Djokovic will have more points to defend going forward so it's a nice bonus for him if he defends his title here.
However his opponent has had a terrific run here in Montreal not dropping a set against opponents who have shown some good form such as Khachanov, Thiem, Garin and Kyle Edmund. He bagelled Kyle Edmund who beat Washington Champion Nick Kyrgios, and Christian Garin beat John Isner in his previous match. He also wasn't too bad in that Washington Final against Nick Kyrgios, a few points in those tiebreaks here and there, and he's been serving well again.
There were some grave concerns in that Fognini game for Nadal, he was able to hit clean winners where Nadal was in a different postcode, and I think Medvedev has the serving on his side and power to compete with Nadal's shots. By the time Khachanov changes his tactics to make it a bit more uncomfortable for Medevdev (or any tall player), it was a bit too late.
Nadal's arguable biggest weakness is his first serve return so if Medvedev holds it all together mentally I think he can get himself into this game and make it difficult for the defending champion.
Think there is enough value to make it worthwhile.
