Have you asked them for an invitation for ***? Wire transfer seems like it might not be a bad bet either. I'm still indecisive about whether I should request my sportsbetting.com withdrawal via check or wire transfer. I believe they don't offer any other method. After having a check bounce from sportsbook.com I guess it should be an easy decision, but as indicated above, I'm stupid and I enjoy punishment.

#877i have a question. When is a check officially in the clear so to say? I recieved one from sportsbook.com and it cleared about 2-3 weeks ago and the funds are available. When a check clears it means it cleared the bank on which it was drawn. So, is it still possible that it bounces? How could that even be possible if it has cleared the original bank? I just want to know how safe my funds are. I have heard of people getting the funds retracted weeks later after it has cleared but that has to be very uncommon right? Any comfort you can give me that my funds are safe?Comment -

Stewmoney: you should be clear, this is the first check that has bounced like this in about 6 i've cashed from sportsbook.. but never again. I will use the *** method to get my funds and will never play with these guys again. Funny thing is I wouldn't normally use this book but it seems as if I catch fire everytime I bet using this account..some of the runs I've made are ridiculousComment -

#879I wish I could answer your question but I'm wondering the same thing. All I can say is don't spend the money, don't take it out of your bank account, don't transfer it anywhere, just leave it where it is for 30 business days after your bank says it was officially cleared, and then I think you're totally safe.Comment -

Used to love this book, only book I used for 3-4 years! They always paid me within a 1 month with no withdrawal hassles until THE BULLSHAT above happened to me.
Withdrawal $1,187 got my check deposited it, cleared in 5 days. 23 Days later it was pulled from my account and when I got a copy of it in the mail from my bank it was noted the check bounced. Sportsbook said I was full of it and I had to fax them the bounced check. 3 weeks later they send another and it bounces instantly.
Short story: I never got the funds, they never were returned to my account and I gave up on sportsbook.com. Didn't have the heart to fight the battle and didn't know of SBR thenComment -

#884I have been thinking about this whole situation. Sportsbook used to be such a nasty site to use. You could deposit instantly with CC and cashouts would usually arrive a few days after requested. I really wonder what happened to them. Maybe it was just a ponzy scheme that is falling apart as everyone cashes out. But I also noticed something else. I don't think as many checks are bouncing as the people on here would have us suggest. I mean of the 10-20 people that have said they have had checks bounce there are thousands of checks that haven't or at least we have not heard from them. My guess is they are batting like .700+ with cashouts.Comment -

#885A 2% bounce rate is unacceptable. If it's 30% as you say, that's unfathomable. This is supposed to be a professional multi-million dollar international business operation. They should not be bouncing checks for under $2500, and they especially should not be calling back checks two weeks after they've cleared the depositors' accounts.
Things sometimes get screwy, so I'd say a 1% bounce rate would be acceptable. These instances should be extremely rare and there should be a system in place to effectively handle the fallout. This is clearly not the case. The entire parlay scandal last year tells us all we ever have to know about sportsbook. As another poster pointed out, a reputable book would correct the problem and move on, not go back a full year into everyone's account and unilaterally remove funds that they were not authorized to remove.Comment -

#886You can't just call back a check after it has cleared. Do you really think they are calling up all our banks saying they want their checks back? No they are too incompetent to even bother with that. "Yeh hi this is sportsbook.com, a gambling website, we would like to take our money back that your client deposited into your bank for no apparent reason" And if it was possible it would be very very difficult not worth the hassle. But the site sucks, agreed.Comment -

#887SB.com can't call the checks back, but evidently, a cleared check isn't really a cleared check for at least 30 business days to be totally safe. I wouldn't put it past the processor. They might be the ones who somehow called the checks back, or maybe the bank itself got wind of the source of the funds and voided the checks on its own.Comment -

#888SBR receives payout complaint from player waiting 5 months for his payout from Sportsbook.com.
I originally submitted a withdrawal on 9/26/08. The email explains the problem. I contact them about every 2 weeks for an update and they reply with "We are working with our processor, once we figure out the problem we will update you". Well it's been 5 months since my withdrawal and still no money.Comment -

feb 3 - 2,380 - received feb 18
And both have been released by my bank.
Maybe since football is over, they are catching up. Good luck to those still waiting.Comment -

#890Just wanted to throw in my experience with Sportsbook.com. My initial withdrawal request was on 01/12/09. I received a message that my request was cancelled and that I had to submit a utility bill and copy of my driver's license. I did so and received clearance to try another withdrawal.
So on 01/31/09 (was able to meet the deadline for the free withdrawal per month) I requested a check and received a confirmation on 02/10/09 that it was processed! I also received a message on 02/16/09 that my check shipped with a USPS delivery confirmation number.
I received the check today, 02/17/09, and it is dated 02/13/09. This is also the date the envelope was postmarked. The bank is a big name bank, branch located in the east coast. I am going to deposit it tomorrow and see if (hopefully) it clears.
Just to let everyone know, I'm not a big time gambler (my withdrawal was only $400). My bets are usually small, around $20-$50 per play. I don't know if this makes any difference with the payout system.
What should I look out for as far as the check clearing? Do I just give it 7-10 business days after the deposit date and I'm in the clear? Just a little bit worried after reading about the bounced checks!!! Thanks guys. I'll post an update later.
It's been a week since I deposited my check and so far the funds are still in my bank account (CROSSING FINGERS!!!). I also initiated another withdrawal on 02/22 for $600 this time- my free one for February (and might be my last, for a while, as I lost a few bets already). I received a message today, 02/25, that my withdrawal is being processed and I should receive it within 10 business days.
I'm just hoping my initial deposit stays put. The check I got was from Wachovia (I think another poster said he got a check from this bank, too). This time, instead of going to my local bank, I'm gonna try to cash it out at a Wachovia branch. I will let you know how it goes!!!
I'm sad to hear about all the horror stories on this post and that is why I'm still skeptical about my initial deposit... but hopefully all goes well for me and the rest of the guys who use Sportsbook.com!Comment -

#891The Wachovia checks will likely be good. The problem was with HSBC.
I called HSBC since my account is there too, and the customer service rep slipped up and admitted the bank stopped the check because they couldn't verify the source of the funds. Then she tried to backtrack and say there are several reasons why the check could have been returned, but the cat was already out of the bag. The processor did not have insufficient funds in their account (as verified by the teller on 2/17 just minutes before I actually let him go ahead with the deposit) and the processor did not request a stop payment. I'm not defending SB.com, but in this particular case, I really don't think it was their fault. They sent a check quickly, the money was there, and the ****ing bank screwed us over.
This explains why my check bounced on 2/19 and einyx19's check also bounced on the same day. They were both issued by the same processor on the same HSBC account. HSBC pulled all those checks on their own volition on the 19th. I suppose I was just lucky that I'd only deposited my check on the 17th, so mine never cleared, and I never had an illusion that the money was actually there.Last edited by BouncedCheck; 02-25-09, 10:09 PM.Comment -

#895Same deal here... it sucks ass, but technically, the processor is the one in possession of the funds right now. SB has to get the money back from them. It wasn't our error, so they should simply credit the funds back to us, but that's not how they do business. We're getting screwed in the short-term, but I'm fairly confident we'll end up getting the money back within a few weeks.Comment -

#896BetUSA downgraded from B- to C+
The sportbsook shares some of its processing with the Sportsbook.com group, which hosts BetUSA. BetUSA management has been able to make alternate arrangements for players after checks have bounced and players complain of two month wait time. Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) players report over 40 bounced checks in 2009. Other players report a five month wait for funds.Comment -

#899Now I have a problem with a check...
Took a check for 2.4K to bank for deposit... somehow they looked and told me there weren't sufficient funds to cover the check. They wouldn't even deposit it for me! Customer service at Sportsbook says it needs to go through as insufficient before they will cut another check. This stinks!!! I recommend everyone get bank wire if you are going to continue using Sportsbook. Not sure how I will get my money at this point.

#900My bank only charged $10 for the BouncedCheck fee. Deposit the check at an ATM at a different branch, get it bounced, and then you get to go through the fun process of waiting "7-10 business days" while they confirm with the processor that the check in fact bounced and you're not a thief. Bastards. If they ever credit the funds back to your betting account, request a wire transfer.Comment -

#902Same issue happened to me, requested $800 in November, received check in January (long but within time they quoted me), then it bounced - 2 times. Been waiting on response for a month. Finally gotthe right person in management as the pace of emails picked up and the money was back in my gaming account as of today. Now, it is not in my bank account - but at least visible on my gaming account.
Question I have to all that have used wire transfers? Do you consider it safe to provide them your account # and other info they require for this type of transaction? I am hesitant to provide this info, but also don't really want to request anothercheck because of the time and possibility of it bouncing.
Thanks for any infoComment -

#903Do you have an extra account that you use simply for shady transactions? I have my regular checking and money market accounts at my main bank, plus a savings account that I typically keep active with $0.01 on deposit.
I also have a separate checking account at a totally different bank where I usually keep $200.00 on deposit. I would only use one of these accounts when dealing with a shady book.
My main checking account, I'll use when sending money to deposit a wire transfer into a high-rated book, but not to withdraw. I'll either use one of the less secure accounts or request a check.Comment -

#905I've been using this book for years and they paid quickly at first, then things got really bad as the government cracked down on the payment processors about 18 months ago, but I got an invite for *** and have always been paid within 2-3 days. If you can use this withdrawal system then you will have no problems with this book.
I think I also read somewhere that their payment processor ran off with all the money, which ain't gonna help anyone, but that was over 18 months ago but it did coincide with when all the slow payments started to happen.
I feel for all you guys waiting for checks, they have always paid as far as I know, so hang in there.Comment -

#907Sportsbook.com BLOWS CHUNKS!
I requested a withdrawal for a measly $150.00 on December 29, 2008. They said it would take 4-8 weeks. Today is March 21, 2009, and I still don't have the money. On Friday, March 13, 2009, (that should have been an omen right there!) the debit card came. But guess what? THERE WAS NO MONEY ON THE CARD!
Some loser on another post, probably someone who works for sportsbook.com, mentioned that they have a "new feature" that allows you to "track" your withdrawals. Well I checked my account and it indeed shows the "card has been sent." So on the outside looking in, they look like they completed the deal. But there was no money on the card so I am stuck waiting for them to "come clean." I guess hell will freeze over before they pay me!

From the way I see it, everyone who sees these sportsbook.com threads should no longer be wagering with sportsbook.com, and I extend that to other Jazette books like sports.comComment
