Play #183: [COPA DEL REY] DEPORTIVO +0.5 [-112] Almeria have been a beacon for goals in their four matches in Copa play in recent months with 13 scored and 9 conceded. Deportivo have been a bit more mild, but have scored and conceded in each of their four Copa matches recently. At home in general, Almeria have been solid offensively. Since La Liga opened, they have scored in all but two of their ten matches played on home soil while conceding in each one. Deportivo has conceded in nine of eleven matches overall in all competitions since La Liga began. Almeria have just two wins in their 10 home matches with five draws. Deportivo got off to a rough start in La Liga with three losses in their first four road tilts, but have since won two, earned three draws and lost to Santander & Atletico Madrid. Deportivo has earned two draws in Copa openers on the road and I suspect that is what they will look for here today with a win not totally out of the question if they can stifle Almeria's attack.

I bet the DRAW on this match. Hopefully Deportivo can manage a goal in the second half, while stifling Almeria.
EDIT: They accomplished one-half of my wishes. . .
Crappy that the only goal allowed was an own goal but that's the way shit rolls sometimes. Back to pounding the Asian Cup tomorrow.

Australia-South Korea should be a great match. As bad as India is defensively, I don't know that Bahrain can get four for an over although Bahrain rarely keeps clean sheets.

for AUS vs KOR, I would predict a 1-1 DRAW, but I really do not know for sure...

PLAY #184: [ASIAN CUP] SOUTH KOREA PK [+104] This match does seem potentially set for a draw that would not hurt either team. South Korea know that even a loss against the Aussies and they still have a very winnable match against India next up to lock up a QF spot. For Australia, it's a little more dicey today. Should the Aussies fail to win, they will be in a dead heat with Bahrain heading into the final match against Bahrain. South Korea was strong in their opener, winning 2-1 against Bahrain. They only yielded a goal after going down a man late in the match. Australia buried India, but was lackluster in the 2nd half of their 4-0 win. South Korea's coach has already ID'ed some flaws in the Aussie defense that he hopes to exploit with the Koreans superior speed. Australia will try to use their size in the box for headers which they believe they can beat the Koreans with. Although the sides changed, South Korea and their superior speed and pace dismantled Australia 3-1 last time the two teams met just about a year and a half ago. Australia is a bit long in the tooth and I think their age and lack of overall team speed can be exposed if South Korea chooses to do so. Think the worst case is money back here with a draw, but I don't doubt the Koreans will go out with every intention to win today and wrap up this group.

EP, I like your analysis... I also think Korea would go for the win, its just really hard to see... they are the kind of team that will calculate their chances in advance and such, they will see India as a definite beat, while realizing that a DRAW would definitely suit them... and if Korea play hard on defense, I do not see Aussies getting a lot past them... but GOOD LUCK anyways

Well Australia had to make a spectacular save in the last ten minutes to preserve the draw. South Korea really looked the better team most of the match, but they were too stubborn it seemed to take advantage of the Aussies. Kept trying to push the ball into the middle when they got near the box instead of using the flanks. PUSH.
PLAY #185: [ASIAN CUP] BAHRAIN-INDIA OVER 3/3.5 [-112] Thought long and hard about this one. Bahrain MUST win this to stay in contention for a QF spot. Bahrain has pace and strength with some Nigerian players up front who should be able to wear down an undersized India side. Their coach has said he is picking today's side with attacking futbol in mind. That will include their captain, Salim Isa who missed their opener. India's coach has said they will be missing their top striker again + will be making changes from the side that was worn down against Australia. It is difficult to overlook how many goals India has yielded with 26 in their last five matches. India is also not used to the tournament format where they play top sides just days apart. Toss in that Bahrain has just one clean sheet in their last nine matches and even this depleted Indian side might have goal scoring chances if they stay organized.

I would never advocate taking that sort of chalk. Bahrain should win easily even though they might not be the best side, but a red card somewhere against Bahrain and you never know. Better to take the lower price and go with them on the handicap if you think they are a "sure thing" today. If they don't cover, you're not losing your ass at least.

Never go UNDER on India games. South Korea total might be 4/4.5 even if the Koreans likely won't go full boar. Expect it 4 goals minimum for the total.
EP36, I believe that the match between SK and India will only have 3 goals and will end 3-0... South Koreans are modest and do want to DESTROY their opposition like say... BAHRAIN!!!

PLAY #186: [PORTUGAL PRIMEIRA] PORTIMONENSE-BRAGA OVER 2/2.5 [-113] Seven straight and eight of nine overall in league play for Portimonense have hit for at least two goals. They have scored and conceded in four straight. At home, they have scored in all but two of their eight matches and conceded in 7 of 8. Braga has given up multiple goals in six of their last seven on the road. Braga did struggle for goals at times on the road, but has scored in three straight on the road and has not been shutout in six straight overall. See both teams scoring and the potential for both sides to hit for more.

I like this play, but would watch out for potential low scoring - Portuguese matches can sometimes be solely defensive... anyways, GOOD LUCK
PLAY #187: [GERMANY BUNDESLIGA] NURNBERG-BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH OVER 3 [+115] Take it with a grain of salt after the long break in between matches here. Both played some friendly matches over the break with boring results. Nurnberg in eight home matches has scored multiple goals in five of those. They have conceded in every match. Monchengladbach has been very poor defensively on the road, allowing three goals or better in six of their right road matches. Only two of their road matches have hit for three goals. The rest, over that total. Only one of Nurnberg's eight home matches failed to hit for at least three goals.

PLAY #189: [ASIAN CUP] IRAN-NORTH KOREA OVER 2 [-107] Many will see North Korea and automatically think about a low scoring, boring defensive game. North Korea's coach and players however suggests that the match today will be different than their lackadaisical 0-0 draw with UAE. Expect North Korea to take more chances in this match after UAE dominated play, putting numerous shots on goal [23, 6 actually on goal]. That scoreless performance broke a string of seven matches straight where the Koreans had put up at least one goal. Iran by contrast looked organized and solid in attack against Iraq. This is a big match for both squads as a win by either puts them in good position to advance. A draw wouldn't be the worst case for either as Iran would retain its top spot and North Korea would still be in position to advance perhaps with as little as a draw in their finale. Still, Iran has a chance here to seize control of this group with a win, so I expect they will take their cue from UAE and blitz the Koreans with offense. North Korea should get some counter options and I think both teams have a shot to score here.
