Damn tough break for Kilmarnock on an outright win, gave up a late header to earn a 1-1 draw but it'll be 56 years with no wins at Celtic. Bet though = chicken D. Think getting into the black for both the straight picks and draw project is a good way to end things before Christmas. With the light schedule and me travelling, I'm probably off of futbol till next week. Happy Holidays!

        PLAY #157: [NORTHERN IRELAND] PORTADOWN-GLENAVON OVER 2.5/3 [-112]
Seven of nine for Glenavon have gone to totals of three or better. They have given up multiple goals in six of nine on the road. Portadown has scored in all but two of their eight home games in the Northern Ireland Premier League, while conceding 12 goals. Five of the last six overall for Portadown have gone to at least three goals. Glenavon has scored multiple goals in five of their last six. Looks good for both to score and possibly one or both to score multiple times.

Seems too logical based on Chelsea's form. Recent history of the series shows rarely do the two sides draw. Think I am playing the total myself, will have that play up shortly. An interesting thing for both sides is what mindset do you take knowing you are playing another match on Wednesday and a third one on Saturday? Chelsea gets its next two at home, Bolton & Aston Villa. Arsenal has their next two on the road, both very winnable. Think this is a huge match for both clubs because a win catapults either team into position to be 2nd or 3rd on the table by the end of the week. I think they both want the win badly here.

                  PLAY #158: [ENGLAND PREMIER] ARSENAL-CHELSEA OVER 2.5 [+105]
Interesting numbers here for marking which way the total could go. At home, Arsenal have hit multiple goals in six of eight matches - all have hit for three or more goals. When they score one or no goals, the total has hit for two or less. On the road, Chelsea has conceded in five straight EPL road matches and seven of nine altogether. In all EPL matches, Chelsea has just one clean sheet in its last eight. Arsenal, has just one in its last six. At home, the Gunners have just two clean sheets and although it is different squads, different situations ... they have not shutout Chelsea in their last six Premier League clashes. The Blues have multiple tallies against Arsenal in five of the last six encounters and much has been made about Drogba's success against them - 13 goals in 13 matches against Arsenal. I think either team being shutout is unlikely with the potential for multiple goals there today in spite of Chelsea's recent goal scoring form.

Yeah that's why I couldn't talk myself into taking a side today. Chelsea's history against Arsenal suggested they could hang today, but recent form was pretty lame ... totals are much better to me than sides when the Big Four meet.

                            PLAY #159: [ENGLAND PREMIER] TOTTENHAM-NEWCASTLE OVER 2.5/3 [-108]
The Spurs have scored and conceded in eight straight EPL matches. At home, Tottenham has done the same in eight straight. Newcastle has had big problems stopping their opponents lately with 13 goals allowed in their last five EPL matches. Overall, five of their last seven in Premier League action have hit for at least three goals. Away from home, has given up eight goals in their last two and have conceded in six of eight. They have scored in all but one of their road tilts this season. White Hart Lane has seen plenty of goals in EPL action this season and this looks to be no different with the Spurs rarely staying clean and Newcastle having their defensive woes, this one seems ripe for both to score and the Spurs likely to add another goal or more ... although Newcastle is fully capable of doing the same. I expect to see goals in this one.

                                  STOKE CITY-FULHAM +225

Liking Blackpool to steal a point as Sunderland has to work a short turnaround from their loss to United on Sunday. Sunderland though is unbeaten at home in nine matches, so the chances of losing are slim. Blackpool have gained a result in three straight on the road and have drawn in two of their last three. Stoke draws Fulham who rarely get blown out on the road, but rarely do enough to win. Five road draws in eight matches. Stoke are in a bit of a home slump with a loss to Blackpool and a draw to City in their last two. Fulham has alternated losses and draws in eight straight with the draw due next.

Yep. I thought for sure Sunderland was going to get one and tie it, but their attacking wound up costing them a late goal. Newcastle sucks. They had 25 minutes up a player and did nothing except giving up a goal to Tottenham. Fukk it.

                                            PLAY 3160: [ENGLAND PREMIER] WEST HAM-EVERTON OVER 2.5 [+108]
Everton has tallied at least one goal in six straight on the road and conceded in five straight on the road. They have multiple goals scored in three of their last four away from home in EPL play. West Ham has given up multiple scores at home in five of nine and have just two clean sheets. They have scored in all but one of their home matches. The Hammers have seen three goals or more in four of their last five at home and in five of six overall. Everton has scored in 11 of their last 12 in the Premier League and I expect they can find at least one today and think West Ham does the same. Both teams come in with momentum and looking for consecutive wins, hopefully that means good, open futbol.

Yesterday all-around was a real kick in the dick day for me. Bottomed out one of my accounts because of the soccer losers and Missouri. Re-load and re-start. Heh.

                                                      PLAY #161: [ENGLAND PREMIER] BOLTON +1.5/+2 [-125]
Surprisingly, Bolton sits just two points behind Chelsea who have dipped to 5th place in the EPL due to their recent slump. Chelsea has not defeated a team by more than one goal since October, a string of nine straight matches. Bolton meanwhile have been a pleasant surprise and a solid road squad in terms of competitiveness. The Wanderers may have won just twice in nine road matches, but they have gone eight in a row without losing by more than a single goal. Early in the season, going against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge was a poor propositon, however, the Blues have dropped points in two straight at home and have not won by more than two goals in four straight at home. I have little doubt that Chelsea is treating the next two matches this week, Bolton & Villa @ home as must wins to recapture momentum. Still, asking them to improve their current form enough to secure a blowout win against a quality Bolton side I think is a bit much. Worst case here I think would be a Blues two goal win and a half stakes loss.

Yeah it's been a long time since I can remember Chelsea going to a stretch like this. They'll need a big regroup, but I don't think he's done just yet unless this streak prolongs for 3-4 more matches. If he can start getting wins again, he'll save himself I think for now ... Champions League may be HUGE for his career, although it'd be tough to fathom Chelsea doing a lot of damage based on current form.

On the road, Blackpool has taken points in four straight and not lost by more than one goal in five of their last six. On the year, Blackpool have only lost three out of ten by more than one goal on the road. This is City's third match this week and they have been successful in the first two. Blackpool is only playing for the second time, already scoring an impressive away win vs. Sunderland ... I think they have a real shot to stay within one goal to kick off 2011.
