PLAY #223: [NEW ZEALAND PREMIER] HAWKES BAY UNITED -CANTERBURY UNITED OVER 2.5/3 [-125]
Hawkes Bay will do well to be at home where goals have come much easier for them. They were scoreless in two road games to restart the new year, but tallied two in their lone home match. At home this season, Hawkes Bay has banged home multiple goals in four straight and has scored in all five home matches. They have conceded multiple goals in four of five at home with no clean sheets. Canterbury United have conceded two goals in each of three matches to start 2011, but have scored in each. On the road, Canterbury has given up two goals in each of their four matches, while scoring nine goals in that span. In November, these two played to a scoreless draw but that might have been expected as Hawkes Bay is the worst road scoring team with just one goal while Canterbury ranks 2nd worst in home scoring. These two teams are 4th and 5th in the standings with the top four going to the playoffs, so it's a crucial tilt.

Damn. Had 3 at the half and couldn't get the 4th for a full stakes take, but any profit is profit.

Ya def frustrating that they couldn't put that 4th in but a half win is better than a loss.

                        PLAY #225: [U20 CONMEBOL] URUGUAY-COLOMBIA OVER 2.5 [-122]
They have moved to the Final Group Stage in this competition now after both Colombia & Uruguay passed from the group stages. Both teams finished third in their groups. Colombia scored seven goals and conceded eight in four matches. Uruguay scored six and conceded five. The match takes place in Peru, so there is no perceived advantage. Colombia had troubles stopping the opposition in their group as they conceded in each match, giving up three to both Brazil and Paraguay. That should leave Uruguay feeling confident of scoring today. Uruguay was blanked in their final group stage match 2-0 by the hosts from Peru, but had scored at least once in the other three matches in the group stage. Particularly notice perhaps their four goal outburst against a leaky Chilean defense. Considering Colombia gave up goals to even the weakest attack in their group, I'd expect Uruguay to score today and Colombia looks more than capable of netting a goal themselves. Edwin Cardona looks to be the scorer for Colombia while Urugay is more diverse with five different goal scorers in the group stages. Colombia should be able to maintain their free styling/aggressive offensive ways as they do not have to concern themselves with qualifying in the Top 4 here for the U20 World Cup. They are the hosts and automatically have a birth sewn up.

Chalking this up as a loss. It's 1-0 Uruguay and I've seen a ball hit off the post and a couple point blank misses, so there's no way in ten minutes that two goals get found here. Onward.

PLAY #226: [ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP] QUEENS PARK RANGERS-PORTSMOUTH OVER 2.5 [-117]
Portsmouth have conceded multiple goals in six straight in Championship matches. They have also scored in eight of their last nine overall. On the road, Portsmouth has seen at least three goals in four of their last five. QPR may struggle to find goals on the road, but at home they have no such worries. They have scored multiple goals in six of their last seven and conceded at least one goal in that same stretch. With Portsmouth struggling to keep their opponents from scoring and Queens Park in solid scoring form at home, this one looks ripe for goals.

                                    PLAY #227: [ENGLAND PREMIER] BLACKPOOL-WEST HAM OVER 2.5/3 [-120]
Blackpool are still a magnet for goals overall as their last four EPL matches in 2011 have all gone to at least three goal totals. At home, Blackpool have seen all ten of their EPL matches this season finish at at least three goals. West Ham has also seen a fair share of goals attached to their matches of late with three of their four EPL matches in 2011 finishing with at least three goals. On the road, the Hammers have conceded in all 12 matches this season with multiple strikes yielded in half of those, including seven goals given up in their last two. Blackpool hasn't kept a clean sheet at home all season, so West Ham should feel good about their chances to score. They have only been held scoreless in six of eight competitive matches in 2011. If we don't see goals here, well then I'll go punch a baby.

                                            PLAY #228: [ITALY SERIE A] BARI-INTER MILAN OVER 2.5 [-114]
Given Inter's goal scoring ways under Leonardo, this is another one that it seems tough to not see goals being scored. Bari has given up at least two goals in five straight in overall competitions. At home, they have conceded in nine straight in Serie A play. In league play, Inter has scored and conceded in nine straight. They have also scored multiple goals in five of their last six in Serie A. On the road, Inter has not kept a clean sheet in five straight. They won the first meeting at home against Bari, 4-0 and that was well before their current run of offense began.

Sporting has tallied multiple goals in five straight in league play and eight of their last nine overall. At home, clean sheets have been hard to come by as they have allowed eight goals in their last four on their home pitch. Naval's road defense has been porous to say the least as they have allowed multiple goals in six of their last eight. The opposition has put up three goals or better in five of those matches. Naval has been steadier offensively in 2011 with goals in each of their three matches. Sporting seems very likely to be able to continue their goal scoring spree of late with the possibility of doing all the work necessary by themselves. If Naval can find the back of the net, I really like this one to cash.

All eyes of course will be on Fernando Torres as he suits up in his first match for the Blues coincidentally against his old squad. Of course it will also be the chance to see Luis Suarez suit up for the Reds in what looks like a very intriguing clash. Chelsea has rounded back into form of late with three straight wins and ten goals over that stretch. At home this season, Chelsea has only conceded goals in three matches, but those three have come in their last five. On the road, Liverpool kept their first clean sheet in their last EPL match against Wolverhampton, but had conceded multiple goals in five straight roadies prior to that.

Sydney has been on a solid run since 2011 begun with a five match unbeaten streak. They have scored two goals in four of those matches and have not been held scoreless in this run. Newcastle is floundering with four straight losses and six in their last right matches. Their desperation has shown with them bringing back a half-fit Abbas to try to infuse their attack. Sydney has a solid record against Newcastle with 12 wins, 4 losses and 5 draws. That includes two wins this season over the Jets, one at home and one on the road just one month ago. Seems likely that the worst Sydney should do here is getting a draw with a win seeming like a solid shot.

Sweden under their new coach is a more attacking squad now and I think against a team in Cyprus that has given up goals, they should be able to find the back of the net.
