Play #10: [Swiss Super League] FC Zurich vs. St.Gallen UNDER 3 (-120)
Tough times to start the season for the defending champions Zurich as they've lost their first two games, surrendering 3 goals in each. St.Gallen meanwhile has been pretty solid with a win over Basel at home (2-0) and a tie against Young Boys (1-1) who beat Zurich at Zurich, 3-2. St.Gallen also held Liverpool scoreless in a friendly match in between their 1st two Super League games, so their defense appears to be pretty solid so far. In two meetings in 2008 Super League action, these two teams played to 1 goal matches. Zurich desperately needs a win, but more so needs to tighten up their defense. St.Gallen should again be playing a well organized match on the road and will be looking to do the same as they did against Young Boys, which could yield a lower total.

Play #11: [UEFA Champions League] FK Mogren vs. FK Kopenhagen OVER 2.5/3 (-125)
Kopenhagen thumped Mogren at home in the 1st leg of this match-up by a final of 6-0. They scored three times in the first 24 minutes of the match and cruised the rest of the way. Kopenhagen might choose to rest some of their regulars, but they also may be more apt to keep that unit more intact after the Danish Champs fell surprisingly 2-0 in their Danish league opener. Even with a 2nd unit or a mix of 1st & 2nd teamers, it appears that Kopenhagen has far too much talent for Mogren who would do well to score. Mogren did play solid at home in their 1st round of qualifying in CL play, scoring 4 goals. I expect Kopenhagen will leave little doubt in this one and Mogren could take more chances, meaning more chances all-around.

Despite so-so form lately, Internacional has done one thing well all season long in league play - win at home. Internacional is 4-0-1 on their home pitch this season with 3 clean sheets. They've beaten two of the top 5 teams in Serie A at home. Their opponents, Sao Paulo, have been bad on the road this season. They are 0-4-2 away from home with 4 of their last 5 road matches ending with them being shut out. Over their last 3 road matches, they've yielded 7 goals while scoring just 1. Internacional is currently 3rd, while Sao Paulo is at #12, 9 points behind. If Sao Paulo's defensive struggles on the road continue, Internacional should continue their unbeaten run at home.

Play #13: [UEFA Europa League] Gandzasar Kapan vs. NAC Breda OVER 3 (-120)
1st leg between these two teams ended 6-0 in favor of NAC Breda on their home pitch. There's not a whole lot to this pick. In many of these Europa League & Champion's League qualifiers ... if one team pummels the other, the return leg more times than not is another blowout. The 1st leg was 1-0 at the half before Breda exploded for 5 goals in 15 minutes, so they are very capable of picking up at least 3 goals here which would yield a push. I don't expect Kapan to score, so the Eredivisie team will need to do most of the goal scoring work.

Well the theory didn't work for this one. Looked like it had a great shot to at least push with a 2-0 lead for Breda at the half, but nothing happened in the 2nd.

Play #14: [Gold Cup] Mexico vs. Costa Rica OVER 2 (-155)
Heavy juice here, but it would be shocking to me if this match didn't have at least 2 goals. I think 3 is quite possible, but feel better dishing out a little more just in case the final scoreline hits 2. Both teams' offenses have come alive late in Gold Cup play, especially Mexico. Al four of their matches in Gold Cup play have had totals of at least 2 goals & they are off their best performance, a 4-0 win over Haiti in the QFs. Costa Rica's 4 matches have seen totals hitting at least 3 goals in 3 of 4. The lone miss coming in their 1-0 win over Jamaica. Likewise, Costa Rica is off their best offensive output after demolishing Guadeloupe 5-1. Recall also that when the two teams met earlier in 2009 in a World Cup qualifier, the final was 2-0 Mexico. There should be several chances for both squads to put up multiple goals if they continue the attacking styles from the QFs.

These two clubs have met twice in 2009 with the total going to 3 goals & 4 goals. Bray has now gone 10 straight matches with the total hitting at least 2 goals. They've scored 5 goals in their last 3 home matches in Premier play. In their last 9 Premier games dating back to the last meeting with Galway, they've allowed 18 goals. Galway meanwhile have allowed 7 goals in their last 4 matches. 9 of their last 10 overall have hit at least 2 goals. With the last 3 meetings between these two hitting at least 3 goals, I think this one has a solid shot to get to that level again. At worst, hopefully this gets to 2 goals and you'd pull back half the original wager.

6 of the last 10 away matches for Tomsk have been draws. 5 of the last 7 home matches for Rostov have been draws. Tomsk has gone scoreless in 4 of their last 5 on the road, but has kept clean sheets in 3 of those. This one has a good shot at going under as well, but my price at 2/2.5 isn't great. If you can find it for under 2.5, I'd take it.

Play #17: [MLS] Houston vs. New England UNDER 2.5 (-120)
2nd meeting of the season between the Dynamo & Revolution. Houston won 2-0 @ New England in early May. Houston's 2 goals came from Ching & Holden, both of whom will miss this one as they continue play with Team USA. The Dynamo have been nearly inpenetrable at home this season, giving up 0.38 goals per home match. In 8 matches at home, they have 5 clean sheets. The Dynamo have also struggled to get their own goals, scoring 4 in their last 5 matches. Outside of a six goal outburst in two home matches back-2-back against Toronto & San Jose, Houston has scored just five other goals at home in their other 6 matches. New England has begun to play better, but they have struggled for goals all season on the road. They have tallied just 6 goals in 8 matches away from home. Their defense has stiffened up in recent weeks though as the Revs have allowed just 1 goal in their last 3 with 2 clean sheets. With the Revs still struggling on the road and Houston playing without some of its best scoring options, this one looks as if it could end up with just 1 or 2 goals.

Controversy continues to surround David Beckham, but the Galaxy have not let than stand in their way on the pitch. LA heads to Kansas City tonight with a 4 match win streak. LA will likely be without Edson Buddle who is nursing a sprained foot, but that has been eased with Alan Gordon filling in. Gordon has three goals in 10 starts. KC plays for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. The Wizards are 3-3-2 at home this season. They've only one a single match in their last 5 at home however and have been kept off the scoreboard in 3 of their last 4 overall. The Galaxy are 3-1-5 on the road & have won two in a row away from home, 3-1 @ NY & 1-0 @ Chivas. These two drew 1-1 in their only meeting this season back in late May. The Galaxy seem to be in the better groove (drew 2-2 with AC Milan this week) with Donovan now back from international duty and if Buddle were healthy, I might go for the straight up win for LA here. Still, with LA & KC's recent form in mind, a draw seems possible ... but a Galaxy win if they stay focused is highly possible here.

Djurgardens has surrendered 30 goals this season through 15 matches. When these two teams met just last week at Djurgardens, the final was 2-1 in favor of Elfsborg. Djurgardens is yielding over 3 goals per away match this season in 7 matches. Only hapless Orgryte which has scored 8 goals all season and Malmo (2 goals) which has just 12 all season have scored less than 3 goals when hosting Djurgardens this season in league play. Elfsborg may not be the most potent team in the Allsvenskan league, but they have tallied 13 goals in their last 5 home matches.
