i was in the border patrol in laredo texas. I just got off midnight shift and was getting ready to go home. I ended up going to the goverment building downtown and playing security guard for the next 8 hours.

Driving to college class, then being like "WTF" when I finally get there and they have the entrance blocked off with a traffic cop escorting everyone away from the school. Didn't find out why until I got back home.

I was in my office on the Hudson river, Jersey side - directly across downtown. I saw the second plane hit and then everything else after.

I went home early like everyone else. It was very weird the rest of the day and night. 33 people in my town died that day. For some reason, many people were out at bars drinking that afternoon and night. I think people just didn't know what to do.

Driving to work. I had the AM channel on from the night before listening to the Phillies game. Small plane crashed into the WTC. I'm like how the hell could that happen. Really never thought it was an accident from the get go.

How often do you have nightmares about what you saw? It is one thing seeing it on TV, but seeing it with your own two eyes has to be haunting.

I was sitting in my office with my bond broker..... she got a phone call said the world trade centre was under attack and left...... later that day I was driving to downtown Toronto, it was weird not hearing planes in the sky. I got a speeding ticket that day, last one I had.... FOK!

Was in the drug program to trim a few years off the sentence, i forget the other building but was right near the drug program and comissary. Co's i dont know, i dont talk with cops bro!

I think about it all the time but not really in nightmares. My thoughts now are still all anger. I can't get over the anger. Can't stand to watch or talk or think about it. This weekend is gonna be tough.

My brother was closer - a couple of buildings away with a view right from his desk. He's a little messed up.

I remember my brother called me and told me to turn on the TV. He said the U.S is under attack. I was in bed with my then wife and I turned on the TV and saw the first building on fire. Of course we watched and witnessed as the 2nd building was struck. All I could say was 'subhanallah' then hours later I realized they already had a suspect. Osama Bin Laden. I thought to myself, the whole world is about to change in a big way.

Was in class (8th grade), principal came in, said something to the teacher, and the teacher looked shocked. The teacher wouldn't tell us what was going on. A few minutes later, we heard a scream from down the hall. Found out later that it was a girl in the grade above me... her father was the pilot of one of the planes that hit the towers. The principal pulled her out of class, told her what happened, then drove her to her house so she could be with her mother.

I was in 5th Grade really young but I remember it. I had just walked into class and a lot of talking was going on. Know one really knew what was going on except for the teachers who were trying to keep everything from us little kids. It was also my grandpas birthday and we sat their that night watching the news all night at my grandparents house

I was at work. One guy sends out an e-mail to the whole company with the news of the first crash. Then news hit of the second one and pretty soon we had the radio on in someone's office.

They let us all leave early that day. Still remember what it was like coming in the next day - everyone felt so drained from all of it.

Was in 4th or 5th grade, teachers didn't tell us what happened because they were afraid one of our parents might have died since I live in NYC. Parents started picking their kids up and it was like WTF is going on? I was one of the last kids to get picked up and then I found out. Could see smoke where I live in the Bronx which is a good 25 miles from WTC.

i was in college, in pittsburgh, heard about it but didnt put it together, hopped on a bus to go to work downtown, worked in the us steel building, tallest skyscraper in town, tried to walk in and they said no work, they evacuated downtown pittsburgh, finally caught a bus home. i didnt have a cell phone with me. i was told the dramatics while waiting downtown. my girlfriend was a flight attendant at the time. flipping out now. tried to borrow a cell phone but calls werent getting out due to traffic. it was a long couple hours til i got home. had about 100 messages when i got home. she worked for a different airline but i didnt know until later when i found out all the details.

they evacuated pittsburgh cause that plane that went down in somerset, they just kept hearing near pittsburgh.

i had some dreams about the building getting hit while i was in the elevator, think i worked on the 53rd floor.

not a good time.

1st hour Spanish class junior year. Teacher was told to turn on TV and we watched the second plane hit. Teacher was then told to turn off the TV and students with family in NY to see counselors in the office. On lockdown the entire day.
