I'm filing bankruptcy - have hit total rock bottom
I had a monster hot streak at the beginning of 2022 where i won back everything I ever lost and then some. After that, I hit a cold slump and lost everything chasing huge amounts and parlays

After that, I lost everything just trying to chase back and doing stupid parlays - my 401K is down to 20K. As it stands now, I'm in about 80K between personal loans and credit card debt. I'm filing chapter 13 to where at least the interest will be eliminated

I'm unbelievably frustrated with myself for ever allowing this to go so bad. I have a beautiful life - I make about 200K selling cars, my wife makes 60K a year as a nurse. She's a beautiful 24 year old girl who loves me to death. There's no reason for me to ever get involved with this

    I'm 33

I'm not gonna make my wife suffer by living a poor man's lifestyle. Also 200K is after taxes is only like 130

Also this will save me about 10K interest per year

you should leave her, she needs a real man not another pussy

with 200k you can get a better rate than 10%, you just need to focus. 4k is a lot but you dug this hole and need to man up and sacrifice for 3 years and still live a good life.

if your wife and you can not live a good life for 3 years with 100k a year, then both of you have the priorities wrong.

You realize that filing requires approval by a bankruptcy judge. If you report the amount of income you say you make and the amount of debt you have, this may not be as easy as you think.

Bankruptcy lawyers typically finish at the bottom of their classes so you probably can find a greasy one to help you beat the system. Most unsecured debt gets tossed so it's a false narrative to say that you will pay what's owed at a lower rate. If anything, the banks will get 10 cents on the dollar.

Do some homework dude, might be easier to gut your way through the mistakes you made.

Any income level can do a chapter 13 bankruptcy, which means I make payments on my debts but it's 0% interest. The interest being gone is huge. If I pay off everything in 3 years, I will likely pay 30K or so in interest
