          Are you serious?

He is sleeping while you are shuffling papers at work. Guy on the couch is the winner here.

Good to see you have learned alot in life. I just show up at the office and "shuffle some papers" and thats how I make a living, I really do wish it was that easy.

Lol. Please. I love sports betting but my real job is way less stressful.
With guys like math its not like that. Its not about the 1 game or the 1 hand, or even the next 10 games or hands. Its about coming out ahead over the next 100,000 games or hands. The individual games or hands of poker are never stressful to the professional. Unless he is trying to win the WSOP and down to the last table or something. Then if he loses he still gets half a million.

But there is nothing wrong with working. If nobody worked, society would collapse.

The premise of this thread overlooks that:

                    a) Some people are fortunate enough to be making a good living working a job that they love in their dream career
                    b) Many people lack the imagination to function outside of conventional roles

I have a hard time believing that you can clump group (a) into your argument, and group (b) hardly warrants mention, as they need their routine to function at all. If you're working 9-to-5 without end in a position you hate, then you can probably do a lot better for yourself, but that doesn't mean anyone working a full time job is wrong for doing so.

Were you high when you wrote that? That's just absurd, your entire post is absurd.

If you took 20 seconds, you'd find out that Canadians actually have a longer lifespan than Americans.

Man, I hope you were high when you wrote this rant because otherwise I'm going to have to question whether or not you made it through elementary school with this display of random, incorent and moronic ideas.

Consider the average American worker. The alarm rings at 6:45 and our working man or woman is up an running. Shower. Dress in the professional uniform, suits or dresses for some, overalls for others, whites fro the medical professional, jeans and flannel shirts for construction workers. Breakfast if there is time. Grab commuter mug and briefcase or lunch box and hop into the car for the daily punishment called rush hour. On the job from nine to five. Deal with the boss. Deal with the coworker sent by the devil to rub you the wrong way. Deal with suppliers. Deal with clients/customers/patients. Act busy. Hide mistakes. Smile when handed impossible deadlines. Give a sigh of relief when the ax known as restructuring or downsizing or just plain getting laid off falls on other heads. Shoulder the added workload. Watch the clock. Argue with your conscience but agree with the boss. Smile again. Five o'clock. Back in the car and onto the freeway for the evening commute. Home. Act human with mates, kids or roommates. Eat. Watch TV. Bed. Eight hours of blessed oblivion.

And they call this living? Think about it. How many people have you seen who are more alive at the end of the work day than they were at the beginning? Aren't we killing ourselves, our health, our relationships, a sense of joy and wonder about our jobs. We are sacrificing our lives for money, but its happening so slowly that we barely notice.

Exactly, they even have to dress up in costumes. The only natural way to dress is the gambler's outfit.

Why you gotta hate on the working man? Sure I don't want to sit in a cube from 9-5 and get bitched around but some people genuinely like their jobs and use the money to raise good families. Making money is great, don't get me wrong. But winning BETS certainly doesn't make you a better human being than a construction worker or teacher or whatever. It does make you $ome dough though.
