SBRcontests.com – Beat The Prick Info

Will attempt to update this thread as often as possible to address questions related to SBRcontests.com and Beat The Prick.

    IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Contest registration for Beat The Prick and MLB Moneyline Madness takes place only on http://www.SBRcontests.com. New sportsbook accounts must be created through the sponsor links indicated on that site. And, new sportsbook accounts must be entered on SBRcontests.com as well ... either in the Sportsbook Account Signup dialogue or via the "My Account" link appearing at the top of the page after you've successfully logged on to the site. In order to verify and confirm contestant information with the sponsoring books, it's important that all information, including sportsbook account number is entered into the SBRcontests.com system. PM-ing or emailing of account numbers will not accomplish this.

Go to http://www.SBRcontests.com, sign in with your SBR Forum username and password, then follow the signup steps. You'll see links for the sponsoring sportsbooks in the registration process on SBRcontests.com ... use those links to signup. No special codes required ... just follow the steps as laid out on the contest site.

    • Step One: sign in with SBR Forum UN & PW
    • Step Two: enter required information and email address
    • Step Three: check your email for verification link
    • Finally, go to "My Accounts" or click on BTP or MLB contest links and you should see where to click on sportsbook sponsor links and where to enter your sportsbook account number.

    • Participation in the 4 main contests currently listed on SBRcontests.com (MLB Moneyline, Beat The Prick, NBA Money, NCAA Brackets) require a new funded account created via one of the sponsor links on the SBRcontests.com site. Accounts created by any other means may not be eligible.*

    • Contestants who have properly registered, will have 4 "SBR contest credits" applied to their SBRcontests.com account, meaning that they will remain eligible for each of the 4 above listed contests with no further account or funding requirements until the 4 credits are used.

    • Please refer to the registration page and/or specific contests rules on SBRcontests.com for complete details regarding new accounts, deposit requirements, additional bonuses provided by SBR, etc.

    • SBR will attempt to verify all new contest registrations with the sponsoring books each week. Assuming that players have provided accurate information during the signup process, then they are good to go and no further confirmation will be necessary from SBR. Should any of the provided information be unverifiable with the sponsoring sportsbook(s), or, if the player has not yet funded the new account, SBR will attempt to contact the registrant to correct any errors or misinformation.

    • Once each week’s verifications are complete, SBR will instruct the sponsoring books to credit the additional bonuses listed on SBRcontests.com to the players’ accounts, as appropriate. Realize that this process can take as long as a week or more, depending on the registration date, the response time from the sponsor books, etc.

    • Please do not attempt to create multiple accounts at a given book. Closing then reopening an existing account may also violate a given sponsor’s T&C. SBR must defer to the sponsor books’ terms of service.

    • Beat The Prick 2008 begins Wednesday, September 3 once The Prick has made his selections.

    • This year's MLB Moneyline Madness Contest will open for one month beginning Monday, September 1. Note that due to the late start on the MLB contest this year, contestants will not be charged a "contest credit" for September's bases contest.

    • There is no deadline for registering with SBRcontests.com and no deadline for joining Beat The Prick. We have weekly and monthly contests running year-round and contestants may "jump in" at any time.

    * Posters who may have recently signed up at one of the SBRcontests.com sponsors for another SBR-related contest (128-man tournament or Bookmaker poker tournament) and did not yet fund one of those accounts will be permitted to fund one of those accounts in order to participate in BTP or other SBRcontests.com contests.

Sean, I don't remember if I signed up through a contest link for the 128 man thing or not. If I phoned Bet Jam or 5dimes, would they be able to tell me if I'm signed up through SBR?

Does a new account with one of those books make us eligible for ALL of these contests? (In other words, do we need to open more than one new account to participate in more than one contest?)

May have posted your question just as I was editing to add this reply:

Suppose you could try that ... although I'm hesitant to advise you to contact anyone at BetJamaica today ... they are dealing with a tropical storm at the moment. Conversely, you can enter the account number during the contest registration and we'll be able to verify for you at that time.

              Sean,

I had a BetCris account that was transferred over to Bookmaker a couple years ago, but I have never funded my Bookmaker account. I would be open to depositing at Bookmaker, but only if it would make me eligible for the Prick contest. Is there an option for me with Bookmaker?

Not to speak for Sean, but no it'd need to be a new account opened through the signup page.

Here's a link where you can log in, and proceed to see which books are offered and join up at one through the signup links.

Weekly prize amounts will be credited twice throughout the season ... at the conclusion of NFL Week 7 and the conclusion of NFL Week 14.

So if we beat the prick in the first week of play we have to wait nearly 2 months before you credit the money? If you win in week end you have to wait until the 14th week? Will be kinda hard to rollover if the football season is over by the time all credits are given. I take it someone would keep track of the winnings then?

You still have the entire NFL playoffs to complete a small enough rollover, not to mention all the different bowl games going on etc. How often do players get bonuses credited toward playoffs? Not usually, closest you'll see is a small offer for the Super Bowl but everyone posts up then anyway so there's no need to entice more action, so I think it's actually pretty conveniently timed for those who maybe run low on funds toward the latter part of the year or those who appreciate the extra monies headed into the playoffs.

What if, and there is a chance as I believe this contest will be half of last years contest participation, someone that is good at handicapping does well and racks up 5-10k which is possible. I have seem some weeks when barely anyone bear the prick so you could rack up thousands in 7 weeks of play. Gonna be hard to rollover 25-50k for sure. Of course, I personally would not mind being in that situation but truth be told I have 0% chance of being able to rollover anything 5x.

Well, there are lots of good posts written on this subject and many capable minds in Think Tank as well who would be willing to help anyone who is not used to rolling things over. But truth be told, 5x may sound like a "lot" but it's really insignificant, many many books have 4.5-5x rollovers on their attractive bonuses, of course there are some D rated shops that have 2.6X RO's but good luck seeing your funds in that case.

5X rollover is a few bets, no big deal, you were likely going to make the plays anyway throughout the playoffs only now there's more of an incentive to it.

The main reason people come to this site is too view information about different sportsbooks and sign up for them. To have a contest that you have to have register a NEW account at one the better sportsbooks is ridiculous. You should have accounts at all the best sportsbooks already.

Please note that the sportsbook information is free, and that contest participation is optional. I am not thrilled with the contest rules either, and have been offered my entire SBR membership fee fully refunded.

A 5x rollover of contest money (not bonus money on a deposit) should be worth about 78% of the award simply rolling through it at -110. There are obviously ways to increase that.

No, you can register at any time and take advantage of the deposit offers, but would probably lose eligiblity for the year ending prizes by way of not accumulating as many points as fellow contestants.

                                  • There is no deadline for registering with SBRcontests.com and no deadline for joining Beat The Prick. We have weekly and monthly contests running year-round and contestants may "jump in" at any time.

A quick reading of the rules leaves me confused.

I'd hope a re-up would qualify, as I've used over 100 books in the past, and there aren't more than 10 I'd trust today.... more like 5, and they clearly are old accounts.

Only 2 books I think I do not have account with although half of them I have not even deposited with. I will use my free pass on the rules though and use las palmas which I opened a couple months ago but never funded.

The only one that I MAY have never used is Las Palmas, I'm certain I've played at the other 8 already, and there is a good chance that I've tried LP once in the last 8 or so years. I used to play everywhere for the bonuses in the old days.

Ok I signed up a couple of days ago but did not sign up for a sportsbook yet as I was deciding which one. I went back and logged into the contest today but the links to choose the sportsbook from are all gone. Sign I have to sign up through a link and there are no links anymore then now what?

Yes, but I believe b2bs do not receive bonuses. Different books have different rules and minimums.

I expect that your particular account will be confirmed and credited within the next 24-48 hours Bubba.
