#4062Personally, I have never done it with a sportsbook, although I have a friend who did it with sportsbook.com recently for 6k. Back in college, I have had charges reversed from "professional handicappers," getting involved with them was one of the stupidest things I have ever done. But I have probably had 20-30 reversed charges in my lifetime, some legit and some shady, and never had one not go through. If you have sent in signed papers, that might give the sportsbook some ground to stand on, but it is still an illegal business and any trouble by them would almost certainly result in that CC company no longer permitting transactions to that vendor. For those of you outside the US, I imagine it could be trickier, but I have always found that CC companies are pretty easy to deal with.Comment -

I sent BOA my "documentation " a little over 3 weeks ago. I basically sent them copies of the emails I recieved where SB clearly indicated the amount of money owed, and then kept changing the time frames as to when I would get paid. First I spent an hour on the phone with them. The key issue for them was that they wanted to know "what service isn't being provided?" If it's a gambling site, then they let us gamble, so in that sense they provided us with the service. I argued, that there is no requirement to gamble. In theory you should be able to deposit money by credit card, and withdraw money the next day by check, and just collect the airline miles. I pointed out that you are able to play the casino games with "fake money" So the main service EFS is supposed to provide is the ability to withdraw money. They were willing to accept it.
But it has been 3 weeks and still no response from them. The only thing I know for sure is that they didn't simply dismiss the claim because it is gambling related.Comment -

#4064I would never tell them it was a gambling site, just tell them you paid for a service you never received. Don't ever get more detailed then you have to. The CC companies want to keep you happy. The sportsbook companies use elcetronics as the cover for charges, so that is always what I would use. Let's see sportsbook.com come up with shipping info for that new stereo they sent you. I only deposited $200 with these jokers to begin with, so I don't want to give them any further excuse for not sending me my 5K, or I would have reveresed these charges a month into this fiasco.Comment -

You have to remember that they use 4 different credit card processors. Some charges go down as telecom equipment, other as pet food, womens apparel, and a catalogue purchase. So what are you going to tell the CC company.
If your dispute is under $1000, it's easy. When you are disputing tens of thousands of dollars, they will want to see some documentation. The other thing to remember is that these banks aren't stupid, and we're not the first ones to to attempt a **********. So wehn you write that you wnat to dispute a charge against Telecart, there is a good chance they will look up Telecart and see that they had some other recent complaints agianst them.. And if they see that other people put down is was gambling related, and you wrote in that you never got your telecom equipment, they will know that you are lying.Comment -

#4067I'm about to do 20 chargebacks on one card for about $10,000 and 30 chargebacks on another card for about $20,000. They owe me $10,000. I'm thinking the credit card is going to question the multiple transactions that's been going on for months. I don't know what I should say.Comment -

#4068Why not. Also you have to go to both CC companies and at least ask for 10k from each, because there is a chance one of the banks might say no.
The one problem you hvae by requesting 20k form one bank is if they ask for supporting documentation, you will only be able to show that you are owed 10kComment -

#4069So long as if he/she receives all 30K, that he/she immediately wires 20K back to Sportsbook then I'm OK with it. Anything beyond that is theft.
Marc, you & I have been through as much of their bullshit as anyone, but it certainly appears that eventually (stress on EVENTUALLY) we will be paid in full. Maybe we deserve a token for our aggravation. Hell, CERTAINLY we deserve a token for our aggravation, but advocating theft from them is just plain wrong & you know it.
This talk of people who have been paid and are still doing chargebacks, justifying it because they have "gone through aggravation" is really starting to piss me off.....as it is exactly why we have almost entirely lost the option to deposit with credit cards in the first place.Last edited by DrunkenLullaby; 05-28-07, 04:27 PM.Comment -

#4073It is certainly true that you don't know me. However if you care to read alot of this thread you will conclude that either:
1) Marc & I (amongst many others) are the two most cunning Sportsbook moles ever planted on a bulletin board or
2) We both have been lied to ad infinitum since February and still, EVENTUALLY, received a portion of our balance with (HOPEFULLY) more to come.
I hope you get paid.Comment -

No different than mugging an old lady and taking her purse. Plain theft by a terrible gambler trying to cover for his degenerate habit. Been happening for a while now, but Ill be very suprised if this one could be pulled off due to the # of charges and amount of money involved, why would someone contiously pay for a product they did not receive.. No way this one works...
By the way, I got payed in full by 4 wires starting back in March.. I am by far not the only one... But fck heads like this guy is not going to help anyone else get payed...!!!Comment -

For once I would like the roles to be reversed. Let them beg for their money. Let them wonder if and when the funds will ever be returned. I'd love to have them call me, and I could tell them I'll get back to them in 48 hours, and 48 hours later, tell them I'll need another 48 hours.
I've been slow paid, stiffed and lied to plenty of times in the past. But I've never been lied to as often, or have been treated so poorly by a book, who has the funds to pay. It's one thing when a book is broke, and they lie to you because they don't want to admit that they are broke. But hear, they just lie to you becuase it's easier to make up a story then to take a minute or two and find out the truth.
I've always been agianst chargebacks, but these guys have just gotten under my skin. I keep thinking that if maybe enough people were to do chargebacks, the owners would realize that instructing their CS people to lie to theri customers is a bad business practiceComment -

#4079I have been reading this thread for some time now. I am a 4+ years running custy of sportsbook.com. Good Lord I miss the days of 2-3 business day bank wire withdrawals! Over my time I have withdrawn hundreds of thousands from this book without incident, even as recently as 6 weeks ago when I received over 7K via wire.
I believe in the current state of affairs the book is solvent but clearly having problems with the increased restrictions imposed on US financial institutions by our demented members of Congress. However, I am confident the book will pay. I'm currently owed in excess of $14K in bank wires, 3 weeks waiting on the longest one...they claim to have sent them out within the last week, with a 7-10 business day wait to go. I also have over $12K left in the book that I regularly bet with them.
I've found most of the posts here helpful, it's good to hear about other players perspectives. I think when it gets down to it, as long as this book can find a way to take funds in and send withdrawals to players they'll be in business. The online sportsbetting industry is extremely lucrative, and with football season just around the corner I highly doubt we will see an exit from the likes of sportsbook.com. I would imagine their casino & poker business adds to their stability as well.
In the meantime, I'm in the same boat as the rest of you, hoping to receive funds soon and waiting till things settle down a bit till I make any more deposits. Whereas I used to withdraw my full account and reload shortly thereafter, I have switched to a method of leaving 4-5K in the account to bet over the course of a couple weeks. In my opinion, this type of shift in player deposit/withdrawal methods may be the biggest negative to the whole situation (i.e. lack of large new cash inflows to the book).Comment -

I just want to add that you are right about the influx of new deposits, it will be tough on the books due to the loss of deposits from newbie gamblers who used to could drop in $1000 in a second and lose it even faster.. The same can be said about the online poker games.. They are only tighter and better now, with less "fish" in the pool... Hate to say it, but the new law is effective at least to some degree...Comment -

#4081I am so sick and tired of the way sportsbook.com has treadted this whole matter. I'm tired of them telling me to just wait one more and, and then a week later tell me to wait another week. Tired of them telling me that they are "sorry for the inconveneince."

I don't want to initiate cc chargebacks, but I certainly want it as an option if these jagoffs don't pay me every dime I've earned. I'm still waiting on over 25 K since the 3rd week of Feb. What a mess!!!!!!!!!!Comment -

#4083BananaslugWWE, if your intentions are honorable then I apologize for it was I who first accused you of theft. However all I can tell you is that many, MANY here have waited over 2 months and been lied to more than 10 times, yet still gotten paid in the end. #4088Sportsbook.com Withdrawal Problems
On February 19th I made my original withdrawal request for $6000. Throughout the past 3 months I have changed my method of withdrawal several times at the advice of the sportsbook.com representative I was talking to on the phone. On April 20th I changed my method of withdrawal to check. I just made my weekly call to them today and they are now requesting that I cancel my withdrawal and make withdrawals less then $2500 one at a time. I have taken their advice before and regretted it. My April 20th request has now been pending for over a month and I dont know whether to cancel it or continue waiting? Does anyone have any suggestions?Comment -

#4092This probably won't make any of you guys feel much better (I know it didn't work for me when I was waiting to receive my first check), but I received my 4th & 5th checks, one on Friday & one today. Both were DHL & <2500. That makes a total of 5 received since 5/16, all by DHL, all <2500. The requests for those were submitted between 5/3 and 5/11 and they were processed between 5/10 and 5/16.
Still waiting on a handful more.
I would HIGHLY recommend going the route of <2500 by courier to all as I waited for 2+ months and got zippo prior to that. Good luck to all.Comment -
