Yes, that would be the way to do it. Withdraw them to the ledger (or any wallet you own the private keys to) and then register the coins. I have a Trezor but used Exodus (desktop wallet). You'll need a little ETH (for gas) in the same wallet.

Tried to register, "US-IP detected, participation not allowed". Not worth trying to get around it or forgetting to register. Just going to trade them in for more NEO, WTC, and XLM.

I've given up on doing much more research honestly. Going to sell out of my UKG heavy portfolio into some ICX and more of my other current holdings and take a 4-5 month break. I believe in the future of crypto but diagnosing every move all the time is getting old and unnecessary for the most part. I'll collect my profits in the future

Not sure what you are laughing at. Some of us don't have the time to spend hours every day on crypto. I've done my research to feel good about the future of my holdings so I'm going to let it go. Laugh all you want. Not sure why that is so funny. I've stated from the start I'm not a daytrader just an enthusiast who happens to be investing.

Yep, the US and China (I think) can't buy EOS and register at the EOS website. The EOS guys didn't want to invite any trouble with US regulations. Some are using a VPN to go around it but basically all you have to do is buy your EOS at any exchange, transfer it to a personal wallet where you own and have access to the private keys (as well as the public keys, of course) and then use myetherwallet.com as the "agent". Ledger and Trezor owners should be familiar with myetherwallet.com. Plenty of tutorials and how-tos on Google and Youtube. If you use the Exodus desktop wallet, use this:

It's not too terribly complicated and certainly not illegal....
