#212Again, I don't have a dog in the fight here. On the surface, it would seem like I'd vote to leave too. Then again, my brother-in-law, who is the smartest guy I know was heavy in the "Remain" camp and had really great reasoning for it, but we were drinking when he laid it all out, so I don't remember the details. He's 40 years old FWIW.
What I can say is the remain camp had some of the worst PR campaigning I'd ever seen. Their endorsements were shit. PR Cameron (who isn't well-liked), Obama (no need for him coming in and saying what he said), and David Beckham (how desperate have they gotten?). There were others I'm forgetting, but they were all rich people, some of whom had the EU to thank for it.Comment -

#214And what's next for the EU and Germany? Strong (Netherlands, Spain), and weak (Greece, Cyprus) all want to leave, and the head of the EU, Germany, isn't going want to carry all this dead weight without benefiting from the stronger countries.
Get your popcorn out now. This movie is gonna be a long one.Comment -

#219I'm happy for Britons today because the youth of their country made a decision about the future of their country, and that doesn't happen often.
It will be interesting to see what a post brexit Britain looks like in terms of economically as well as how they plan on securing their borders if they still want to be part of the single market. But today none of this is matters because it should be a day for celebration.
But Dane, what you wrote is wrong... "Finally, almost every area where more than 30 per cent of residents were not born in the UK voted to Remain. "

#220I'm an American, Shari. And really, for me, it is all about the economy. What I see is the UK has made a decision that they feel will be good for their economy, but they are mistaken. This type of thought process, or better, lack-of-thought process is a problem here in America as well. And it is more about racism than anything else.Comment -

#221Never was a fan of the EU to begin with. Each country has their own economies and how to run them.
While it was nice to have a common currency, having poor countries drag down prosperous ones was just
a matter of time before going bust. Have to give them kudos for trying.
Not sure why the refugees are a factor in the separation. Dosen't each country still have their own laws
regarding immigration? Were they trying to run the EU like the US?
What's next for Britain? Their prime minister left them high and dry.Comment -

#243Packerd, what are the odds of a second referendum to reverse this "leave" decision? Sounds like it's gaining a little traction but I don't know if it's just American media or actually legitimate.Comment -

They were too busy furthering and pandering to the investor class without paying attention to other aspects of society.
It's not like the majority of the lower class are going to care if the stock price of the affluent will rise or fall as they've nothing to begin with...Comment
