Damn I missed today's early plays and the other bummer Dex is that I am on Utah today at -2. Well the only good thing about that is one of us is guaranteed to win. In CBB I also took USU to cover for the game, BYU to cover for the game and NM to cover the 1st half. Hopefully my college games win.

              I like it.

BTW, as a Utard, I have officially lost too much on the Spazz this year, so have given up on them till they show me something. Watching the end of the game, and the Spazz gave this game away at the end. DWill sucked at the end and the end is all that counts.

I am watching my aggies now, hopefully they don't let me down.

Hard for me to pull the trigger on LA after seeing them burn me many times... I too believe this road trip they will improve. May think about this one.. 77% on lakers right now.. do you see this line dropping?

Here was my little writeup for the game.

The problem with LA is Derrick Fisher, Ron Artest, Shannon Brown and Steve Blake. These are four key players for the Lakers who are all playing terribly this year and what's most important is that they have been playing terrible lately. Those 4 guys in January averaged 24 points on about 42% shooting (5% below the team average). Artest is a terrible offensive player and his defense is no where near what it used to be. Fisher is the worst starting PG in the NBA right now by far. He shooting the worst of all of them. He can't penetrate and doesn't create for his team. Blake and Brown started off hot this year and as of late they have been horrible. Blake has had zero double figure point games the last ten games and Brown has had one. You can't beat Boston on the road with 4 key players playing really badly.

It also doesn't help that Andrew Bynum who hasn't been playing well now has to go out there with the thoughts of being traded to Denver for Carmelo. The Nuggets would be really terrible if that trade did go down and it just sucks to go from living in LA to freezing Denver. If I were him I'd be really nervous about all that talk and it may affect his play.

If Pierce is healthy, there should be no reason for LA to win. Against the elite of the NBA, Lakers are 0-5 this year. They lost by 16 to Heat at home, lost @ Spurs by 15, lost @ Mavs by 9, lost to Boston at home by 13, and lost at home to the Spurs by 1. Kobe scored 17 vs miami, 21 @ SA, 21 @ Mavs, 16 vs SA, and even when Kobe scored 41 points in the Staples Center they still got crushed by Boston by 13.

On the other hand, Boston has done very well vs the NBA's elite. They beat Miami by 8 at home, beat Miami by 5 on the road, lost @ Dallas but covered that game as they were on b2b without Rondo, lost @ ORL by 8 but led by double digits all game and just gave it away at the end, beat SA by 2, beat Orl by 3 at home, beat LA on the road, and then lost to Dallas on the road in a game they led and blew at the end. They are 5-3 SU so far this year against the elite. In all 3 of Boston's losses, I really thought they should have won. They led by double digits vs Orlando on Christmas and had no business losing holding Howard scoreless through 3 quarters. In both Dallas games, Boston had a 4+ point lead in the 4th quarter.

Also, Ray Allen is going to break that 3 point record tomorrow. That is really going to get the Celtics going when he gets it and I think the team will turn it up to another level and I can just feel the Garden going nuts.

i've heard the same argument when i made a few winning plays on denver during all the trade talks - it didnt matter. and i also do not think the nuggets will be "really terrible" if they get bynum. they still have nene, billiups, and jr smith (who will benefit most from the melo trade).

Artest and Fisher are definitely key players, they are starters who play 30+ minutes. Blake and Brown are 50% of the bench and do play over 20+ minutes a lot of games. Players that play that big a minutes to me I consider key.

so long as kobe, gasol, odom, and bynum are healthy - thats all i care about when betting the lakers.

the other role players feed off their games. fisher does nothing but stand in the corner for open 3's when teams double the laker stars. artest is a pure waste. thats the guy la needs to part ways with.

A lot of Laker greats have displayed their displeasure with the Lakers for a whileeee now. It has only seemed to hurt them as they have yet to come up with a big win. Magic and West made their comments prior the recent SA and Boston games. If Kobe scored 41 and they still lost by double digits in the Staples Center with a halftime lead to Boston, how do they win on the road? The revenge angle is essentially just thinking your team will play with more effort and want the game more. I doubt that will be the case. Boston wants this game badly especially after losing to Charlotte and getting robbed in the Finals last year. They also don't want to let Ray down and have his career moment end up in a loss.
