I agree with you...but they (Danny & Doc) are bringing this core group back for one last run.
I think one of the hardest things in sports is for a franchise to realize when the window of opportunity has closed and its time to blow it up and start over. And they wind up thinking with their hearts ("they won us a championship just x number of years ago"), as opposed to thinking with their heads and looking at the bigger picture long term.

You know that Shaq is not the dominating force when Jermaine Oniel will probably start over him. Altough I say that i think it was a great signing especially for how much he is costing the team. I mean Shaq making only 2 mil is crazy. He will deffenitly make a contribution but injuries are HUGE concern for the Cs. And let me tell you right now they WILL NOT win the title.

Shaq will be a role player, and at 1.4 million its a great move for the team. I still think Celtics are old, and the long grind of the NBA season will wear them out for the playoffs, I think they fade after the opening round.

Perkins will be out 2-3 months

Very interested to see how Shaq fits into the offense. Can he play with Rondo? Wallace worked last year because he was more of a perimeter player which allowed Rondo to create and kick out if he needed to. We all know how Shaq can clog things up down low...
