I just use my credit card; if that doesn't work you can wire transfer, Western Union, etc.

I see u always play the teasers, for the same vig as a st8 bet. Don't you think that's more profitable in the long run to chose just one team at a time and try to be up 55%?

Not for me. The books are sharp, most gamblers lose. But when you're getting 8 points you take away the house advantage. The key to hitting teasers is to have a lot of games to choose from. I had success in the WNBA even without a lot of games, but certainly being able to choose from a lot of NBA and NCAA basketball games is what works best for me.

I guess it's "to each is own"!

I also made a pretty serious amount of cash last season on first quarter bets. certain teams are 1st Q beasts: cle, bos, SA, orl, LAL in that order, really.

5 CLE players ranked in the top 7 players by 1st Q last year. cle is a 1st Q money machine. If you had bet every cleveland 1st Q last season with a spread under -5 (which would require a game spread of nearly 20), you would have hit 68%.

other teams you might not expect to be shitty 1st Q really are though, such as miami, golden state, etc. the clippers are one of the worst, winning 32% of their 1st quarters and getting outscored by an average of 4 points. tonight's best mismatch is LAC/PHO, imo. with a line of just -1, I expect the clippers on a B2B without their superstar rookie to get pummeled 1st Q by a strong suns team looking to make a statement that they don't need shaq. Nash and crew lights them up tonight.

I will continue to do so as long as roag doesn't mind. Also, these plays come from past stats and results and what i've seen so far in the season. Preseason i just write off because basing any gambling stats of preseason stats is a bad idea. It might be prudent to wait to see if I'm actually hitting these this season before you tail, or just tail lightly haha. I'm 1-0 thus far with cleveland 1st Q last night. CLE @ home is my only autobet.

i just like the suns tonight a lot. the clippers just came off a home loss...granted it was home for the lakers too. the clippers dont really have much of a fan base, and i'd expect a lot of the crowd there tonight might actually be phoenix fans. the preseason stats do not support this play tonight. but in the past, phoenix likes to score and likes to score big. the lakers game was close last night because the lakers think they're amazing and play to their opponents level, which is why i hate spreads above -4 with them. I don't think the suns will show any restraint as they play hard and fast against a tired clippers team. so this is a gut play, honestly.

2-1 yesterday. I did have to sweat 2 free throws by Paul Pierce with 5 seconds left to get the Celtics over. Good thing the line went down all day. Also, actually considered the Lakers running out of gas in the second half but if I have to start capping adrenalin levels at home with no travel on the first day of the season, then I'm in big trouble. The Wizards impressed..I've been watching them in pre-season.

Of course, on this Teaser Angels forum (not ready to crown anyone as divine yet)
couldn't help but notice that a 3 team tease would have won. I might start keeping track of that phenomenon ! But, I admit I am new to the board.

That's why I would prefer betting on the lakers -3 over a really good team than -10 over a shitty team. with the lakeshow it's all about teasing them below the -6/-4 key numbers

Love it. I said preseason PHI and WAS are going to make me some money this season. They are both for REAL. Do I think Philly wins @ ORL...no...but no doubt they stay within 20 points. Same as Indiana. I like Atlanta...but with Granger no doubt they atleast get a backdoor cover here. Boston for obvious reasons at home and SA as well in their home opener. Think the SA/NO game will be close but like SA here even though they generally are slow starters.

Agreed...they consistantly play down to their level of competition. Wouldn't touch them over 7 or 8 but against CLE, BOS, ORL and SA I will take LAL all day and will make a killing.

Teasers can be extremely dangerous. They are an easy way to throw money down the tubes, and they have to be played right to be profitable. That said, they CAN be played very well with the proper amount of thought.

with the special teasers, you can get 8pt/3team for -120, or through my book you can get 9pt/4team for -130.

The 3 teamers are the best, for sure though. I never like having more than 3 teams unless the card looks good, like tonight. The trick is to find the games you feel will be the most lopsided and only tease if you can get the favorite down to -6 or below--preferably -4 or lower. Or, find the game you think is the most mismatched (i.e. spread is too high), and tease it the other way. For instance, 3-team/8pt tonight I love san antonio -1.5, bos -2. but for the 3rd team, I'm kinda iffy between CLE, ORL, or PHI. I don't see PHI getting blown out by 18.5+, nor do I see ORL losing by more than -2.5. CLE getting any kind of points after a disheartening loss on opening night also looks golden. The key to teasers in my experience is to tease the favorite on high spreads and the dog on low spreads. Rarely would I recommend teasing a favorite past 0, because those are garbage points if you're expecting them to win in the first place. In the end I decided to go with CLE despite the garbage points, just because I'd rather waste those 2 than gamble on a less solid pick, IMO

Straight bets are definitely less complicated, but the line makers' entire job is to put our lines that appeal to the masses but won't hit. A good capper can read through these and/or buy the hook/point to get the win. I hit just around 55% of my straight bets and without my 1st Q bets I would definitely be in the hole. Teasers on the other hand I usually hit 65-70% (last season, at least). I have immense respect for people who can hit those kind of numbers on straight bets, but I'm not there yet. either way, teasers are just like any other kind of betting. Easy to lose money on if you're a square, possible to make lots on if you're not! Here's to hoping I'm not a square this season!

Wow ! Thanks Has..... Appreciate the wisdom. I have had one NBA season at close to 56% and another couple in the 53-54% range, but I have also had a couple in the 51% range which means a losing leason.
