#109The D-Backs have a good lineup, but they choked big time after the All Star break last year. They cannot contend with Eric Byrnes out of the lineup. He is their heart and soul.Comment -

#110why is everybody on the giants? i don't understand. yes, lincecum is the best pitcher in baseball hands down. but they have no offense whatsoever. i bet some triple-A teams have a better offense than they do. they need manny or they're not going to score enough runs for their pitchers to win any games.Comment -

#111Yeah, I don't know about that either. Lincecum had one great year last year. I admit that the guy has talent and a great arm but to try and duplicate last year's 18 win total with that anemic offense behind him will be very hard. His arm alone will keep them in games but look at Matt Cain and his run support and his record. That easily could have been Lincecum last year too or vice versa. Santana didn't start off too well in the 1st half of the season but he was basically lights out in the 2nd half after the break. What will help him this year is their improved bullpen with K-Rod and Putz behind him.Comment -

#114I have added the Spurs to the mix for tonight's action. Without Randolph, the Clips don't have a proven scorer in the paint. San Antonio gets the nod for late night play tonight.Comment -

#118Also adding Baylor+8. With 34% of betors on them they are controlling the line against the Texas Longhorns. With such a small amount of college games tonight, you already know that this is not free money from the books for Texas backers.Comment -

#121I've got to get outta here and go see a local jeweler about some watch repair services, then it's off to Starbucks' for a Whipped Tiger Chai Tea and a Cohiba. So final card time, boys and girls:
Baylor+8
Spurs-8
Heat+4
Sixers-1.5
Damn I must say it's different researching and picking just my own games for a change. The traveling road show is over, the featuring is over. The harvest is done and sold, the rent is almost all collected. I feel capital today...Comment -

#124LOLOLOL at Santana being better than Lincecum. There isnt anyone even ****ing CLOSE to Lincecum right now. Fatass CC had his cute little half a season, and he will return to being mediocre in the Big Apple. Roy Halladay? This isnt 2003. Santana? This isnt 2004-2006. These dudes were beasts a few years ago, but they're all older, worn down, and in fragile health.Comment -

#125Here's my top 10 Dexter
1. Edinson Voloquez (Just f*ckin' nasty stuff with no run support)
2. Tim Lincecum (I mean come on)
3. Cliff Lee (Unhittable slider)
4. Roy Halladay ( Will give you 9 innings with ease)
5. Jamie Moyer (Don't laugh-look at what he does as a -140 or more favorite)
6. Danny Haren (Throws a very heavy ball)
7. Carlos Zambrano (Are you nuts look at his hitting production! Incredible!)
8. Josh Beckett (Say what you want, when healthy he is one of the best under pressure)
9. Rich Harden (Cubs fans haven't seen nothin' yet)
10. John Lackey (War Horse)
CC didn't make my list because he folds under pressure in th big games. Moyer is the best big game pitcher there is. Do yourself a favor and look up what he des when the heavy money is on the Phils, and then look up his numbers versus the Marlins, which basically removes them from all possibility of a win when they face the Phils with him on the bump.
Cole Hamels is excellent too, but when the heavy money is on him, he doesn't produce like Moyer does.Comment -

Peavy is good, but the left handed loaded good hitting teams seem to tattoo his as when he is on the road. It's okay in his ballpark because it is a home run killing ark. But put him in the American League with the shorter porches and his numbers will go up.Comment -

#135Oh okay, shoe, Dexter beat me to it. Yeah he wears down late in the season, but he has terrific numbers through 3/4 of the season. But he is horrid as a -200 or so pitcher. Might as well fade him in those circumstances or take the runline for the other team which is even better. He was not so hot down the strectch in games where he was needed to pitch masterpieces.Comment -

#138Not necessarily jgbgsox, any good sinker ball pitcher will have similar results whether pitching in either league or on a farm league. Makes no difference. the onlything that will make a difference is if the umpire is in the mood to give the low strike that day. If he doesn't give the low strike on a given day then your point is true. because if a pitcher who's best effect is low pitching is taken away and he is forced to bring the ball up he will get hammered once those precious runners get on because of the umpires' indifference. I think that for example Harden, Voloquez, and obviously Danny Haren show that they can cross over leagues with their stuff. It's just that good.Comment -
