thanks Lookingtostart.
haha very! they must of seen my pick on this forum before umpiring
anyways no 2nd half play for this game due to a genuine lack of interest in following this game and I can't back a winless North Melbourne to finish this off Port Adelaide side until they give me reason to. but mainly for the first reason.

As a port supporter, I had enough interest to keep watching. Port are the new Gold Coast. The good news is, Primus is more likely to get sacked sooner.
a tense win there with the carlton play. bet was not won until the final seconds of the game. thank god i didn't take the line which i was really considering on playing in Carlton's favour. i just had a feeling that carlton would not cover the -16.5 but i also couldn't see carlton blowing st kilda away by more than 39 points. there was just too much value in that 1-39 bet to ignore. might consider playing more margin bets in the future .

Yeah good win by Carlton considering they were gone for all money in the last few minutes. They looked spent but managed to produce when they needed to. I reckon the Saints will bounce back though. Might have to see what they're offering to make the 8 now...
A cold team playing an extremely hot team. Think Essendon wins this by 40+
Game: Sydney vs Port Adelaide
Bet: Sydney -25 WON
Sydney are not a team renowned for blowing away teams, but even still they are playing a side that is playing absolutely rubbish footy. I have a scary feeling they'll win by 32 points and blow the cover so i'm taking the -25 margin instead. But who knows, maybe Sydney could blow apart this Port Adelaide side cause on paper they should win this by 40-50+ points.
thanks amac38 sorry i didn't post my picks today was out all day.
put i did have plays on warriors M/L, richmond M/L, richmond +5.5 2nd half (on my mobile) + west coast +4.5 2nd half

AFL 21/5
Game: St Kilda vs Melbourne
Bet: St Kilda -10.5 1st half 1st quarter M/L WON
UPDATE: Decided to give 1st quarter M/L a go.
Melbourne absolutely tore North Melbourne apart in the 1st half but the only reason they did was because North Melbourne were playing close to no defence and their attack was sloppy. But once North Melbourne picked up their attack and started playing defence, they just destroyed Melbourne. The loss was made even worse for Melbourne when one of the defenders admitted giving up in the game. But on the other end, we don't exactly have a team that's firing either in St Kilda. St Kilda had a 30 point lead bat the end of the 1st quarter yet found a way to lose the game by 30!!!! That is just unforgivable so who knows which St Kilda team is going to turn up. But I feel that this is a season defining game for St Kilda and I think they'll play with a fire-up mentality knowing that if they lose here then they can kiss their season goodbye (if they lose today they can still make the finals but really if you can't beat a depleted melbourne side at home, then you don't really deserve to have a shot at finals footy). The fact that Melbourne give up if they trailing by a big margin immediately put me off on the St Kila 1-39 margin and the fact that their average losing margin is 40+ is a bit of a concern. But at the same time, Melbourne could easily surprise us as well as themselves and keep the game close combined with the fact that St Kilda haven't been able to finish anyone off this season (not even the Brown-less Lions). Verdict: St Kilda by 20 at half time.
Game: Brisbane vs North Melbourne
Bet: Brisbane M/L WON
Brown is back for Brisbane and that should be a massive lift for the Brisbane side that is still winless after 8 rounds of footy. He might not kick a bag of goals but I think his presence will lift the younger guys as well as the veterans. But they have no better chance of breaking the duck than a North Melbourne side that just stink on the road. Kangaroos are slight favorites in this game but this is only because Brisbane haven't won a game yet, so I think there's a value in backing the Lions tonight. The Brisbane side haven't been playing as poorly as their W/L record suggests. They've had patches of brilliance combined with school boy errors and their bad patches of play occur in game-defining moments. Betting a winless side is hard enough let alone thinking about the margin of victory. So I think i'll be content with playing the M/L here.
Money is coming in like crazy for geelong raising the number from -27.5 to -30.5!!! but the same thing happened for that carlton geelong game think it was -9.5 or something and carlton covered it. Think Geelong will sneak out a win (which has kept me off the gold coast m/l) here but I doubt they will do a Collingwood and kick like 10 goals in 5 minutes.
UPDATE: damn would of been better off playing the cowboys 2nd half than gold coast.
nice win to open round 12! any thoughts on todays games? im on west coast and nervous. line keeps going down and i can hedge decently by taking adelaide +7.5

AFL 11/6
Game: Adelaide vs West Coast
Bet: Adelaide +9.5 2nd half WON West Coast haven't blown out any team away from home and also have a tendency to let teams back into the game a bit. West Coast currently lead by 34 and the bookies are predicting them to win by 44?? As crap as the crows are, I still can't see that happening. Their biggest and only win on the road so far was 18 and that was against Port Adelaide! Call me crazy but I don't think Adelaide will embarrass themselves in two consecutive home games, especially when their last home game was a loss by a humiliating 40 points at home against the bottom-of-the-table Lions!
Game: Geelong vs Hawthorn
Bet: Geelong 1-39 WON
Geelong undefeated. Hawthorn in super form and have buddy back from injury. Will not bet against Geelong until they give me a reason to.
Bet 2: Geelong -7.5 2nd half LOSS
Game: Gold Coast vs North Melbourne
Bet: Gold Coast 1-39 LOSS
North Melbourne haven't won a game away from home all season and they are playing a rapidly improving Gold Coast Suns side. The fact that Gold Coast still can't play four good quarters means we'll see a tight game with gold coast prevailing at the very end. 2011 AFL Season Record: 27 - 15 - 1 (64.29%)
