Still up a boatload of cash on their games so no regrets on that play at all. Just the way she goes sometimes.Comment -

#3411Pretty much for sure I will be live betting the over 5.5 in the TB/WPG game. It's sitting at -150 right now at the 2nd INT so I'm gonna wait a few minutes into the 3rd and try to get a nicer price.
Here's to hoping they don't score in the first few minutes of the 3rdComment -

#3416Disappointed as a gambler as he was the only coach in the league to pull his goalie down 3 with like 4 minutes left in the 3rd
As a hockey fan I think they needed a scapegoat and he ultimately took the fall for his team. I don't really know if it's his fault though as Tampa has pretty sketchy D and goaltending this year anyways. Maybe the players quit on him though you never know what goes on behind closed doors.Comment -

#3417The Lightning really should have gotten Luongo. He would have been a great fit there playing in a non-pressure filled market. I really hope Gillis lowers his asking price and just takes what he can get for him at the deadline. There were rumors in the summer he could have gotten Kadri and Bozak from the Leafs. If he turned that down he seriously should be firedComment -

#3427Boucher needed to go, players quit responding to him. You can blame the goaltending and the defense all you want (and our veteran defensemen are average at best), but truth be told our defensive system sucks, and has sucked. We give up the blue line too easy, we chase from side to side, and with the exception of the young guys don't hit or clear the crease. Watch a game, players take multiple swipes at pucks in the crease without getting knocked on their ass. I don't care how good the goaltender is, eventually your gonna give up goals. The young guys I referred to are the so called "Syracuse seven", they broke/set numerous records in the AHL last year, and there's more coming so the future looks bright, just not so much this year. Prior to Jeff Vinik (owner) and Yzerman we had no farm system, our scouting was poor at best. The previous regime (may they burn in hell) gutted the team and got nothing in return but cash in their pockets. And before I get trolled, I say "we" as a lifelong Tampa resident not because I think I'm part of the team. I do know some of the inside guys, our announcers, and the reason we have a team, Phil Esposito, so I'm not speaking out of my ass.

#3428so do you blame boucher for the defensive problems? i thought he was preaching play better defense. he RIPPED the team after loss to bruins after blew 2-0 lead and lost in last minute because of stupid offensive gamle shorthanded. so bad they took video off web. audio clip still out there. why did playesr stop responding? because they got pride and dont like getting yelled at? im sick and tired of players not caring, and then getting bailed out by coaching job. it lets the players off the hook. tampa bay has shitty defense. How is that coaches fault? he tries to clean them up. but the players just want to go out and be superstars on offense but not play defense. look at ovechkin/capitals. teams can't win that way. Yzerman should have gone after Luongo. not stay with shitty goaltending, and then blame and fire coach.) they played that funky 1-3-1 defense with no better defensive talent than we have now. Stand them up at the blue line, make it hard to enter your zone. Now we give that sh*t away. Trust me, I've watched this team since its inception. They employed a similar system under Tortorella, the difference is they blocked a sh*tload of shots, goaltender stood on his head, and we had guys on the back line that could move the puck. Prior ownership gave Dan Boyle away, hasn't been the same since. Your welcome San Jose. Back on point, some of it's on the players, but if you don't have the players to run your system, adjust your system. Or lose. And get fired.

But it seems you're assuming a lot, without any real source or reason to what you're saying... Don't get me wrong, it seems that way to me as well...
But the thing swordsandtequila wrote seems more backed up, and it seems like he has reason to write stuff like that... So I'm not sure where you get your oppinions, and would like to hear your reason why you think it can't be coachs fault, since swordsandtequila explains pretty well, how the players are inadequate, but the system are far worse...
I heard about the "ripping of the team" after the Bruins-game, but it seems like you're assuming (again) that the players stopped caring, and didn't like getting yelled at, and so on...
Nothing against you and your oppinions, at all... But maybe there's something to it, when swordsandtequila writes like he does...
There's a difference between telling your players to play better defense and stop making ridiculous decisions in games, and to actually teach a better defensive system, which, I think, was the problem (drawing conclusion from what swordsandtequila wrote)...
Just my 5 cents...Comment
