Super, I play at Daily Joust, Fanduel and Draft Day. I have looked into some of the other ones but I seem to like these three the best. Even though they all seem to have different scoring I find to like how Draft day has their salaries in which you can grab some good talent at a cheap price. Fanduel seems to have some very good players who compete there and while Daily Joust I like the incentives they bring to the table if you are a member there.

super, I have been playing fantasy football for about 13 years now. Fantasy Basketball I just started about 2 years ago and this is my first season doing fantasy baseball full time. I use to just play a game here or there to kill time until football. Kind of weird since I played baseball for so many years, i just never put the time into it. Now I am reading up on things all the time while trying to get better. I have a pretty flexible job as a PA for a Psychologist so I have time to research stuff alot. Betting was always my first priority but now I am trying to get more involved with the fantasy aspect of the game. Don't need my four year old son to see his father always trying to bet on games with a local or online now when he asks, I am able to show him what fantasy sports its. Four year olds are like sponges you tell them something and they have it stuck in their mind. Don't need him to going to school and trying to start any NCAA brackets for the tournament or to start booking for lunh money at school.

Gummo, no problem man. Fantasy baseball is tough enough to try and figure out figured I would pass along some of the info I have come across when reading about this stuff to my fellow fantasy baseball addicts.

I'm not Jeeps, but I've been playing fantasy baseball since the early 90's.
When I first started with FB, WH/IP ratios were not en vogue then, most stat sites were still only providing the 'core' numbers, you know BA, HR, RBI, ERA, SB....

For the first three years or so, if you wanted an updated WH/IP, you had to do it yourself.
You had to take out your Texas Instrument handheld calculator and add the walks and hits allowed from a pitcher, divide that against innings pitched.
You knew you were on to something if the walks and hits were less than, or equal to the innings pitched.

I remember one Sunday in '92 my dad and I at brunch talking baseball as we are both big Yankee fans, talking about this newbie the Orioles had (Mike Mussina) he was on his way to a 18 win season, my dad said, "this kid in Baltimore is OK" I said to him, "he's more than OK, I just added up his walks and hits allowed, they equal less than his innings pitched, he allows 0.96 base runners an inning...."
We still referred to it as on base percentage against.

Even though a lot of the early sabre numbers were invented in the 1980's, those numbers weren't really available.
20 + years later, all you have to do now is go to any one of of 30 websites, all your numbers are spread out for you, today all you have to do is his click on that sort function, and all the work is done for you, lists every category from top to bottom, no need for a legal pad, pencil and a TI 60 dollar calculator.

I can break down a 15 game Saturday baseball card now in about an hour and change, 20 years ago, you needed a pot of coffee to do it in under three.

Super, LOL.....Actually when I first startd playing fantasy football alot of the sites were free to play on. Now a days alot of these sites realize that they can charge for doing all the scoring for you and people will pay for it. I still remember my 2nd year playing I played two leagues the one my buddys and had to pay to play on the site that we used back then. I started a league with guys I worked with and this was when I was in my late teens to early 20 and instead of paying for any sites I did all he scoring by hand for our league since I had played before while all the rest of the guys were newbies... Never again will I do that. Thank god for the updates in technology...lol.

Stevenash, that is some funny stuff man. It is great that technology is able to help alot us with our addictions now a days.

Well I learned a valuable lesson last night. Whenever Seattle plays Texas and Yu Darvsh is on the mound stack your lineup with Seattle. (never thought I would say that) The M's has blasted Darvish this season thus far. Darvish has a 9.00 ERA against Seattle this season.

We have a huge selection for pitchers today:

Chris Sale from the White Sox who is 5-0 on the road this season with a 2.85 ERA. Sale is even better during the day where he is 5-1 with a 1.99 ERA.

Jarrod Parker from Oakland who is 5-4 this season with a 2.86 ERA. Parker has responded well to poor outings his last time out. Parker has a 0.64 ERA this reason after allowing 5 or more runs the previous game. He allowed 5 earned his last time out, let's see if he responds well again today.

Matt Cain from the Giants. Cain is is perfect during day games this season. Cain is 6-0 in day games this season with a 2.15 ERA. Cain has a 2.10 ERA at home against Houston in his career.

Stephen Strausburg from the Nationals. Strausbrug is 5-2 on the road this season with a 2.94 ERA. The downside to Strausbrug is you have no idea is the Nats are going to start cutting his innings now so he has a healthy arm come Playoff run. It could be a gamble by spending big bucks on him in a daily leagues.

We can not forget about AJ Burnett, Cole Hamles,Jered Weaver, Ivan Nova, Matt Garza, James Shields and Homer Baily.

There are way too many pitchers to pick from today.

                                              Good luck today guys.

I played 50/50 today on fanduel majority of the guys I am playing had the same idea I had and that was stack your team with Boston, White Sox, Yankees, Toronto, Angels and Tigers players who are playing with the highest totals posted for tonight.

I have a feeling we will see alot of fantasy teams tonigt stacked with Yankee and Red Sox players considering they are both facing pithers whom he have success against and have been hittig the ball well lately. That Red Sox Lineup looks very dangerous now with Elsbury and Crawford back.

Super, alot of it depends on what webiste you are playing on. Last night the guy who took first place in the contest I played on draftday really did not have that strong of pitching. I think only got 8 and 3 points from his two starters while the rest of the team got him to 73 points to win the contest. I am starting to realize that on draftday you can get by with mediocore pitchers while stacking your lineup with guys who will hit plenty of homeruns and pull in RBI's for you. Fanduel is a bit trickier only becuase they do not take points away from pitchers for walks or hits. On fanduel you can easily get 16-20 points from a pitcher who throw 7 innings with 7 strikeouts and gets the win while allowing 2 or 3 runs. I placed in both of my 50/50 leagues the last two nights on fanduel with subpar pitchers because I stacked my lineup with guys who were playing with high O/U totals and have been hot with success against the pitcher they were facing. Example being Carl Crawford last night who went 3-4 in which he was 2-4 the only other time he faced Phillip Humber from the White Sox. There are alot of different ways to go about building your lineup which sometimes you just need luck on your side with all the different things you can do. Dailyjoust is another site that really takes pitching huge in scoring. If you get a guy on their to throw 7 innings with 7 strikeouts and gets the win with 2 or 3 ER allowed you will probably score big with him. The thing about them if you notice it is hard to grab a guy who is catching fire since they will price their guys on who is hot and and downward. Hanley Rameriz is usually priced very high in alot of leagues but over the last few days he has fallen at daily joust because he was cold for a bit, now he is starting to heat up again and watch how his price increases. You kind of need to find the guys who are going to break out of their slumps when playing on that site.

I wish they had more incentives with the points you earn from playing in games. You should be able to cash those in for things other than an entry for a game. They are working on that for the future I read.

I was not too big on alot of the pitchers for tonight so I broke down and took Kevin Millwood. Kind of surpised at myself considering I am a big Phillys fan, being from that area and all. I have gotten the first hand experiance of Watching Millwood in action and needless to say I was not always a happy phillys fan. He seems to be putting himself together in Seattle so I took the gamble hoping he is able to grab me at least 10 points. Millwood was priced pretty cheap so I was able to stack my lineup with Trout, Crawford, Michael Brantely, Hanley Rameriz, Carlos Lee, Ruben Tejada,Brandon Phillips and Matt Weiters. Hope everyone has a good night and some of ya'll get to win some cash.
