3 players from a team is, so far, the best I've seen, especially if you can get a 2-4 or 3-5 hitters of a team. I've played against teams that had the 1, 3, 6, and 7 hitters, and it just made no sense. I you are going to stack, you need to stack with players that can help each other

#107I have always thought about trying a stacking, especially a hot team against a struggling pitcher they have had success against. I have just never pulled the trigger only because I always think it would suck to have that pitcher throw a gem. That would be my luck, hence why I have to study this stuff so much because my luck sucks.Comment -

#109Allin, don't give up their has got to be at least one fantasy site that does not require US or Canada residents only. If not then you need to get on ball and start a fantasy website that is able to include residents outside those two countries. That could be a cash cow if you pull that off.

#112Hey no problem guys. Wait until football season I wil have some outstanding breakdowns for NFL mathcups that has led me to win my fantasy league and put me in the playoffs numerous times.
I am a big fan of trying to find guys who have success against pitchers and are hot right now. Example being Matt Holliday.Holliday has been on a tear as of late and he faces Anibal Sanchez today whom he is hitting .500 against going 7 for 14. I said i in the past I played enough baseball in my life that you know some pitchers better than others.
I am also big on Pitching for daily fantasy baseball. Example: Let's use the Nats vs Rockies lst night. Gio Gonzalez who is having an outstanding season was on the mound and if you had him on Fanduel.com you got 16 fantasy points from him last night. Now think about it, you need 2 or 3 hitters to have above average nights to get you 16 fantasy points. On fanduel you have Mike Trout, Andrew McClutchen Ryan Braun, Carlos Gonzalez all who average less than 4 fantasy points per game. Ill take the one guy who will get me 16 rather than spending big bucks on 3 guys who need to be above average. Their are plenty of hitters who are able to have big nights, thats where the research of who is hot and who has success against certain pitchers comes into play.
Just trying to give some of you rookies who are still learning little bit of info on how I have learned to do alright in fantasy baseball.Comment -

#114thanks Monitor. I like the psychological effect that batters have when facing a pitcher they know they have success against. Gives them a bit more confidence when stepping up to the plate against that pitcher especially when they are in a zone and hitting the ball well.Comment -

#125Super, I use to do both and still dable in the sports betting aspect at times but I have gotten more into fantasy sports now after the shutdown of my three books I was using.
Me personally I like to look at O/U lines also when setting a lineup. The Books won't give away free money so if you see a total line high their is a reason for that, expect some offense. If you see that total line high research the pitchers then and how how the hitters are on that team an the amount of success they have had against the pitchers. You can look at it from the ML standpoint also but you have to remember that the ML is made to draw action on both sides and what the public is going to do into that line making. You know the Public would pound the Phillies with Cliff Lee on the mound against the Pirates with James McDonald on the mound even though the Pirates have been the hotter team.So you would probably see Philly the fav even though they have struggled offensively this season an due to Lee being a big name pitcher.
Example on the O/U, I ill use the Cubs and Astros. Everyone that follows baseball knows when the wind is blowing out in Chicago you will see O/U totals in the 10.5 and even 11.5 range. The public would probably look and think that is nuts since both teams are not the Rangers or Yankees offenses while looking at playing the under. But like I said their is a reason it is that high.
Another thing is look at ballparks where alot of runs are scored, like Colorado, Texas, Philly, Chicago (when Windy). Look at stadiums where pitching is stronger like San Fransisco, San Diego, Oakland. This gives you a bit more of what kind of offense to expect.
I may be rambling but it is just a few things to look at when setting your fantasy lineup. It is pretty much the same thing as betting on a game since you have to put loads of research into it just like betting. They should make both of them legal, it's pretty much the same thing in my eyes.Comment -

#129dynamite, you are saying most of these players are very bad but that is why this forum is being brought up. Everyone here is trying to help each other with some pointers to make a better lineup when playing fantasy sports. The old saying goes "two heads are better than one" which is why people are able to give some pointers that others have not come across yet.Comment -

#130alright guys we have bee talking about numerous ways to improve our fantasy baseball picks. For Friday here is game we should be looking at. Phillies at Colorado. Cliff Lee (5.95 ERA L3) against Christian Friedrich (7.24 ERA L3). Lee has struggled as of late allowing 5 or more ER's in 3 of his last 4 starts and now has to face a Rockies lineup that is hittng .270 against lefties at home this season and average 5.88 ER per game at home against Letfies. Michael Cuddeyer has a .303 avg against Lee with 3 homeruns in his career while Carlos Gonzalez is hitting .429 in his career against Lee. Friedrich has been horrible at home this season in which he has a 9.62 ERA and has failed to get past 6 innings in a home game this season. The Over is 5-0 this season when Friedrich pitches at home. Oppnents are averaging over 1 homerun per game against Friedrich in Colorado while opponents have an OBP of .426 when he pitches at home. Philly has averaged 6.4 runs per game the last 5 games in Colorado while Colorado has averaged 4.8 runs per game their last 5 home games against Philly.
This info above has pretty much everything we have been talking about from, hitter vs pitcher info,to location, to recent games from the pitchers, to how they perform against L or R handed pitchers, to O/U info and even if you were thinking about stacking a lineup with guys from this game.
Hopefully some of this is able to help everyone when we get back to playing fantasy baseball on Friday.I am getting the itch I can't wait.Comment -
