#107Alex DeBrincat has been known as a smaller player with a big game. Now he has a paycheck to match that game.
The Chicago Blackhawks announced Thursday that they have signed the 21-year-old to a three-year extension with an annual average value of $6.4 million. DeBrincat is in the final year of his entry-level contract with an AAV of $894,166.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#110that was a wild game
Winnipeg outshot them 47-36. Two times they answered a Rangers goal within seconds later. Not sure who that game tells us more about as a team. I heard a post-game interview and Winnipeg felt good about their number of shots and time of possession in the offensive zone.
Perhaps the Jets need to think about defense a bit more.Comment -

#113Sharks have been horrible so far this season. Granted the first 2 games were against Vegas who should be very good again this season but I thought they would beat Anaheim tonight. Once again their goaltending is trash whether its Jones or Dell between the pipes.Comment -

#115Ovechkin scheduled to throw out ceremonial first pitch at NLDS Game 4 on Monday in Washington when the Nationals host the Dodgers
again, this is for Monday game 4 (not Sunday game 3)
Ovechkin is no stranger to the mound at Nationals Park. He delivered the first pitch on June 9, 2018 (Washington went on to win 7-5 score vs SF Giants), two days after he won the Conn Smythe Trophy and helped the Capitals win the Stanley Cup for their first championship in 43 NHL seasons.
Aside from his pitches in Washington, Ovechkin also made guest pitching appearances before a Baltimore Orioles game against the Los Angeles Angels at Camden Yards in 2011 (Baltimore won the game 8-3 score) and a United States vs. Canada baseball game in Durham, North Carolina in 2004.Comment -

#117Anaheim just a bad team now. They started to fall apart last season.
Rough time for SoCal hockey as the Kings are going to be bad for a few years too.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#119St. Louis Blues will try to win their seventh consecutive game against the Toronto Maple Leafs when they play at Scotiabank Arena on Monday.
Three of the Blues' six wins during their run have occurred in overtime, including a 3-2 victory in Toronto on Feb. 19. The Maple Leafs last defeated the Blues on Jan. 2, 2016, a 4-1 win on home ice.
Players to watch
Blues forward Sammy Blais has three points (two goals, one assist) in his first two games. Ryan O'Reilly has three assists in his first two games.
The Maple Leafs have nine players with at least three points in their first three games.
Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews has scored five goals in his first three games. He scored in each of his first six games to begin last season (14 points; 10 goals, four assists) and is the third player in Toronto history to have multiple season-opening goal streaks of at least three gamesComment -

#134Edmonton Oilers set an NHL record with their fifth straight come-from-behind win to start a season Saturday, a 4-1 victory against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, and are 5-0-0 for the first time since 1985-86.
It's a stark contrast from the past two seasons when they were a combined 26-54-7 in games where the opponent scored first.
Can they keep it going on Monday in Chicago?Comment -
