Anyone think the Weidman line might go any lower than where its currently standing ? (-178) Got burned jumping on the Doane line a bit early so trying to get Weidman at the best price i can.

- Only legit thing I can say in response is - Phil is a better MMA wrestlerand bit more athletic then Weidman and that fight was at 205 and not 185.. This fight is for the title too.. Gotcha pal.
Phil is a mediocre MMA wrestler, and Weidman is top-tier. You should take up a martial art or something, it would help you understand what you're watching.

Davis wrestling is OK
He shoots from like a mile away with no setups
Munoz is the worst mma wrestler I've even seen

In terms of high-level guys whose base is wrestling, Diego is probably worse than Munoz. He used to be really good, too, which is a shame.

Frankly, it's a miracle that it's as low as it is. I would be quite surprised if it fell even further between now and tomorrow night.

Yeah i just pounded it now @ -178. Sort of baffling that there are people on here who are backing Machida. This match seems pretty cut and dry frankly.

I'd say that about 80% of the sharps that I respect are on Machida, and some of the best mushes around are on Weidman. Bad omens a-brewin'.

I've seen Nunya and Jibbby on Machida... but that's about it. It'll be a good fight, but I'm really not worried at all. I honestly have no idea why this line is so close to even and can only speculate that there's an army of spiteful Silva backers out there who's passionate hatred for Weidman is interfering with their judgement. Simply put, this fight is a valuable opportunity to make some decent money.

In other news, has anyone dug up any appealing props?
Myself, I really like a lot of the fights to start Rnd 2. Specifically, Faber/Caceres at -145, Struve/Mitrione at -110, and especially Rousey/Davis at -115. Rousey is a beast, but I think her reign of first round armbars has come to an end and she doesn't have the power to knock out Davis (especially in the 1st round). Similarly, I don't think Davis is fast enough to get the job done standing, but what she does have is durability and an excellent ground game. She's never been subbed (she's a BJJ blackbelt after all) and none of her five losses have come prior to the 3rd round. Long story short, I don't think this fight ends early. Probably at least three rounds one way or the other. I still give it to Rousey, but it's a lot closer fight than most people think and I do have a small play on Davis at 10:1 simply because that line has a lot of value. Regardless, I think the 2nd Rnd prop is a very safe bet that represents an excellent opportunity to make some cash.
I feel similarly about the other two fights, but to a lesser degree. Faber's deservedly the favorite (though, again, I've got a small value play on Bruce Leeroy), but I don't think this is going to end in the first round. Struve/Mitrione is a little shakier, simply because Mitrione is a threat standing, but I think they'll take some time to feel each other out and if Struve is smart he'll eventually take it to the ground and will likely eat up a decent amount of time looking for a sub. I think he will in fact catch it (probably winning via triangle in the 2nd or 3rd round), but the smartest play value-wise is simply starts 2nd round at -110.
Edit: Instead of betting starts Rnd 2 in the Faber/Caceres fight at -145, everyone should be betting Not Faber Rnd 1 at -145. Same bet, but even better.
Edit 2: Same thing for the Rousey/Davis fight. Instead of betting starts Rnd 2 at -115, bet Not Rousey Rnd 1 at -120.

Its true that Munoz and Phil Davis aren't nearly as good of MMA wrestlers as Weidman. What is significant is that Machida has been able to stymie the wrestling of pretty much every wrestler he has faced, many of which were at 205 pounds. Each wrestler he faced presented different challenges and had different overall MMA skillsets and he still beat them(some not officially). After his knockout loss to shogun he faced seven wrestlers in a row and faired well against all but one, that being the champ Jon Jones. Most people gave him the first round in that fight as well. Weidman is an awesome fighter but I personally have to give the advantage to Machida. Of all the fighters at 185 Weidman could possibly face, Machida is one of the toughest matchups for him. I am disappointed his line dropped from +250. I would have loved to get that.

I could see Machida giving Weidman looks which may take him a round to adjust to, but i can't really see him losing this. We all need to take advantage of Weidman money now before he gets into Jones territory. Perception on him is very skewed at the moment due to the Silva fights. Anybody who watched the weigh ins can see how much heat the guy is getting. For what? two victories over Silva which were apparently a "fluke". Far from it.

fwiw, weidman brought in stephen thompson for this camp. should be helpful with adjusting to machida's style.
