UFC Fight Night: Shogun Vs Sonnen (August 17, 2013)

Sonnen
- It took so long to get me licensed because I had to get the TRT clearance
- I don't do well on the road, I like to be home, in my living room
- To live out of a hotel and train in a new environment was a shock to my system
- trained with Pat Cummins and Raphael Davis
- Historically it's not good for athletes when they change camps, especially late in their career
- Most guys when they make that change things go down, you start learning new stuff, holding your hands in a difference place, some of that stuff gets really hard
- In 6 weeks, I didn't grow alot in terms of development
- I had my first fight in 1997, it's very hard to learn new skills
- Shogun has alot of tools, you watch tape on him you're just going to get frustrated, Like Jon Jones, All I'm seeing is this guy kicking the crap out of somebody, it's not doing alot for my confidence
- I don't have the skills to find the openings, I don't throw roundhouse kicks or land the shots
- This fight is an experiment, I can beat him but he can beat me too, I don't know who is going to win
- I'm ready, I have no excuses and even if I did, I wouldn't share them with you
- If he's better than I am, god bless him
- It's a big deal to get caught in a leg lock, it's devastating, it's on my mind, he's going to go for it
- He has a couple spots where you don't want to end up with him
- I want Vitor Belfort

mmaed: main thing about faber v alcantara is that alcantara ALWAYS gasses, he's good for a round and then he starts slowing (alot) and by round 3 he's a zombie, strangely this happens for him at EVERY weightclass and he's been as high up as welterweight.

Thanks for the heads up Plekz. I will watch Arantes, omigawa, and Diaz tonight. I will see if he gasses in those fights. See if it's consistent.

heres all the plays I've made for tomorrow, some of them posted before already but...

Shouldn't really post them as no one really cares but chalky_paul_2012 and his only reason is to hope they lose, so he's not the only one making a tremendous fail in all nights. But once in a while I believe in giving the underpriviledged a glimmer of hope, so this time I'll try to give him that glimmer of hope. Lord knows the boy needs it....

His roiding has little to no relevance to do with gassing. I don't understand why people even feel the need to mention it. I'm not a doctor so it's futile to talk about it, but regardless of your opinion on his usage of particular steroids and their effects, let me ask you this:
do you think he is clean?

Besides, I wouldn't exactly go on suggesting Browne is a cardio machine either. Hey, I could be wrong tomorrow and all that, but I see big value in Overeem because Browne has little to no ways to win this one. I guess if one believes he can tire Overeem out ok, but I don't really think so.

e: of course everyone can win any fight, if the part where I say browne has little to no ways to win this one. Overeem is a superior striker, and grappler too I'd estimate

I don't view him as having a special skillset that can tire out overeem though Overeem can manage to do that himself if he comes to wrestle again like he did versus Bigfoot. I don't think Brownes striking is very good either. To answer your question I would guess OVereem is not entirely clean right now. I actually made a post about him going to train in Europe in order to avoid testing during his camp. I am going to take a look at him at the weigh ins and judge for myself + look at previous weigh in numbers to see if his weight has gone down considerably. This would be an indicator that he has lost some muscle. Lastly, I consider his gassing in his last fight to be in part to his long layoff. To be clear, I don't expect him to gas as bad as last time but I'm not considering it out of the question.

Reem weigh in at ufc 141 = 263. UfC 156 = 264. Tonight he weighed in at 255. I was thinking that was a bad thing but it might work out as a positive. In fact it could even be purposeful. His goal might be to lose some muscle so he doesn't gas as much.

I just really don't understand why people like you want to discuss roidz all the time when it comes to Overeem, to the point where it dictates to a huge degree whether he can compete or not. The guy had cardio issues 10 years ago when he was rumblecutting his way in to japan. The guy has a skillset.

The reason would be he took a huge amount of roids. Got busted for it and spent a long time being monitored for them. Then after he gassed against bigfoot he tested low for testosterone. As in low T, like a guy that's 70 years old. It probably isn't a factor but when I see someone betting on Reem I figure maybe they have some insight that I don't have. I don't ask to be a prick, I ask hoping to learn something from you. I understand he has a skillset. That's why I put him in a parlay. Right now, I am thinking about betting him straight up. Sorry, I am not trying to harass you or criticize your bets. Good Luck.

Damn Overeem pulling the time with that double biceps.. Knows how to build anticipation. Arianny just about to jump him right on stage..

Definitely taking it easier on the sauce, but looks way better then Big foot fight.
