Good evening rev! I'm pump that a friend I play poker with on bodog referred me to your post. I'm looking to seeing if your series system works for now since I don't wager alot and just want to start out slow.

What website do you prefer to wager at? I hope it's ok that I ask.

I have a question. When you say (-1 RL) is that the same as -1.5?

No.

-1 Means you subtract 1 run from the score (so a score of 8-7 would be a tie since 8-1 = 7)

-1.5 means you subtract 1.5 runs from the score (so a score of 8-7 would be a loss since 8-1.5 = 6.5)

also, some books don't offer -1, they only offer -1.5

You will have to find a book that offers -1 (like Pinnacle for example).

Rev is putting too much time into this to keep having to answer the same stuff over and over. The least everyone new here can do is put forth a little effort and skim through a few pages rather than jumping to the last page and ask what is going on.

New to this site and thread. I want to make sure I'm doing the math right. Your saying 2% of your bankroll. So if you have a bankroll of $1000, your only betting a max of $20. Since I'm new, I want to be conservative. I'm only going to bet on series system for now. So if you had a $1000 bankroll, you would only bet $20 on these three picks. You must have a serious bankroll if I'm doing the math right. It just seems like a very small wager. Just making sure.

Sorry I'm late, I was out until now. That's exactly what I'm saying. My bankroll right now is only about $700. Two weeks ago I had it close to $1800 but I was tailing some people that hit some serious cold spells all at the same time. It sounds like a small amount, but it adds up as long as you win. The reason you don't want to go too much higher than that is because if you get to a C bet, where you have to chase what you lost in the A and B bets, it can get expensive if you've bet more than 2%. Think about it, we're on the Angels tonight, and let's assume that you want to win more, so you bet to win $50 instead of $20. They're at -200 right now, which means you would have to lay $100 just to win $50. Say they lose, and you have to place a B bet tomorrow. Right now, they're at -160 tomorrow (I'm just using the Greek, by the way, for the lines), so you'd have to wager $160 just to win the $100 you lost, plus another $80 to win your $50 wager. Thus, on a B bet you're into it for $240. If they lose the B game then you have to place a C wager. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that they're -150 in the C game. That means in order to win your first two wagers back you're laying $360, and then add into that another $75 to win the $50 for the series. Add it all up and you're into the series for $435 just to win $50. On top of it, if two series get to a C game you could be in trouble wagering 5% of your roll to start. Play it safe, as long as the system keeps winning you'll make some decent money sooner than later. Like I posted before, if you want to try increasing your roll a little faster try betting 2% of your week beginning roll and recalculating each week.

2% is a good number. There could possibly be several series going at once. Also, since it is a chase doubling up each leg with high juice could be a good chunk of change risked or lost at one time.

example (just -200 to make it easy)

A bet -200 odds to win $20 = $40

B bet -200 odds to win $60(a risk+$20 profit) = $120

C bet -200 odds to win $180 (a risk+b risk+$20 profit) = $360


If you lose that C bet you would have lost $520 which is just over half of your $1000 bank roll.


That is just one series. With several going at once you can see the problem...

I wouldn't use the one called -1rl_calculator

I use the -1rl_calculator, and it has worked for me so far. Easy to use. Haven't tried the RL Calc yet, perhaps it is better.

A Bet: Boston (ML) 2.8 Units to Win 2 Units


FAV System:

A Bet: Brewers (-1 RL) 3 Units to Win 2 Units


Individual Bets:

Marlins (-1 RL) 2.15 Units to Win 2 Units

Arizona (-1 RL) 1.65 Units to Win 2 Units

Seattle (-1 RL) 2.7 Units to Win 1 Unit


*If the Braves beat the Cardinals on Monday, I will be looking at a possible 2 game chase on the Cardinals starting on Tuesday

*We will have 2-3 possible series starting on Tuesday

*Also note that I have altered the flat betting of the previous 3 weeks and have weighted the different series

the RL CALC seems to give more details and a little better layout maybe than the other
