I can't believe my first bet of the season is on the Yanks. You know how I hate to love them. Well, I can't pass up +112. Good luck bro.

While I don't believe in giving a projected order of finish, I believe it is reasonable to list potential playoff teams and track their progress during the season. This post will be revisited at the All-Star break and/or trading deadline with fine tuning as needed.
Teams are listed in alphabetical order.
2010 Playoff Quality Teams
ALE: BOS, NYY, TAM
ALC: CWS, DET, MN
ALW: LAA, TX
NLE: ATL, PHI
NLC: CUBS, STL
NLW: CO, LAD, SF
no marlins? johnson and nolasco is a solid 1/2. one of the 5 best players in the game in ramirez......i think they'll make some noise this season.

Good evening Rixsaw,
I understand your position completely but try to look at it as a "short-term relationship", you know good enough for a date or three but not in it for the long haul. You got a great number, congrats!

Correct, I have them in the second tier - teams that should be above .500 but for various reasons won't be in serious playoff contention. Who knows what will happen, but those are my thoughts and if needed Florida could be included (playing their way in) on the next update.
Also, you have e-mail.

I could be wrong but I don't think that will be true (more runs scored). Tonight I cheer for the Yankees, next game .

After 6 innings, it's tied at 5. Congrats to those who were on the over.

I really thought Beckett would have a better start. He looked really shaky all night and never got comfortable. Tomorrow I like Phillies for about 5 units. Halladay is going to look great, and will dominate Wash.

Early season game, pitch count, sticks ahead of the ball, etc - it all adds up. As you read earlier, I didn't think either starter make it into the 7th inning (they didn't). And just like that it's tied again at 7.

0-1-0 tonight dropping 1.05 units - unless the Yankees manage to score at least twice in this half inning.
Congrats to MLBStreakbuilda for being the lone, in thread, winner tonight. Well done.

It happens and don't worry, everyone will put up a goose egg this season if they put some in play daily. Remember this when losses occur, the games are over, you can't change them and move forward.

Tough losses to start the season (0-2 for me) but I'm excited about the baseball season being here. Too bad I couldn't enjoy the game since I was distracted early on by the crawl at the bottom of the screen telling me that my football team traded for a quarterback. I spent too much time surfing the net and not enough time enjoying opening night. I will make up for it tomorrow. Looking forward to discussing the big slate of games with you guys and hearing your thoughts.

If I were to "blame" any player, it would be Park for that poor outing.

Bingo! This is why over 90% of the time, I pass on the first game of the regular season when it's prior to the rest of the league beginning. It showed how competitive both teams are and will be this season - had their been no money involved on the game I still would have watched and found it to be enjoyable.

Good morning Jive,
Win, lose or push it's always a good thing when the regular season begins. Sorry for your pair but at least you got a cube from the night. Looking forward to your input on the games as the season unfolds..

Exactly, tonight last night, since it's after midnight, this time Boston won. It happens and you won't hear me or see ranting posts about that loss nor would you had the Yankees won. You'll see a results for the day or an updated during the day post and then move ofrward. Both teams will be highly competitive all season and being public teams will have inflated lines.

Thanks jnickell100 but I'm funny, when I wager, I like to cash - like everyone else.

TodaysAction....I have a question for you:
I have a $500 bankroll..how many dollars should 1 unit be worth for my bankroll?
Also, here are some picks for tomorrow from Dexter's postings:
Monday 4/5:
(1x) rockies +110 - jiminez has 7ip and 0 er in his only career start at milw (col 1-0). gallardo has 5ip and 2 er in 1 career home start vs the rockies (hou 0-1). like the sharp opening move for colorado.
(1x) giants -130 - lincecum has given up 1er in 11inn pitcher at hou. have to take advantage of lincecum at a decent price.
(1x) mariners -130 - fading sheets here who hasnt pitched since 9/2008 vs one of the best in the game (king felix) at a decent price.

depending on your bank roll it's usually 2-3%

oda, thanks for the advice....1% seems very small, but I guess I need to be into the longevity side of things to win in this game
$5 per unit for a $500 bankroll will take some getting used to since in baskets I will play up to 20% of my bankroll on a strong play

bologne....thanks for the advice...2-3% sounds reasonable....i was actually thinking before I asked this question that for my $500 bankroll that a 1 unit play should be $10....that's a 2% play off of my bankroll

You gotta realize there are a LOT more games in baseball than basketball buddy, and an error etc can cost you your wager. BOL this season.

20% thats insane bro. you'll never find a long-term sharp that would agree with that amount. 1% standard. you can always up it a few units on strong plays (5%max)
