with that but what happens when there would be more than one pick for the day? Cherry picking the thread isn't the best solution to increasing your roll.

Hey TA,
I haven't really spent any time in the baseball forum recently, so I just noticed the BS you've been through in the last few days. Really unfortunate. But today is a new day (and the first day of the season ) so GL today and keep your mind on the important stuff.

Good morning suicidekings,
What's been seen is about 25-33% of the garbage - apparently some people get off on that sort of thing. It's not me, nor what I've always been about, so basically screw `em, talk to yourself because I don't have time to waste on your newest set of falsehoods. Thanks for understanding. It is and today begins the new season for . Thanks for dropping in and with your wagers.

The first thread I came to look at today with baseball season upon us. Keep up all the good work from last year TA. I know you put a lot of time and effort into your picks. Got my TA legend set up and ready to make some money off the marathon of betting seasons.

Good afternoon mcbaseball10,
Thank you for looking in the thread and hope you find it helpful. While last season was enjoyable, it is 'officially' over and the focus starts on this (regular season). Spring training games and regular season games are not done the exact same way but both have found ways to make them work. As you stated yourself, this is a marathon and there will be times when overall loses for the day could extend to ten straight days (or more) - just make certain you're properly funded for the season to maintain your unit the entire season matching unit for unit and you should have a good return, some fun along the way and will contribute to the thread (when you're ready). this season to all regulars in this thread.

Good afternoon jnickell100,
Good question, I could give you the standard "the process calls for them" answer but since it's the first game of the season, won't go that route. Both teams have their #1's going tonight and while good as they are, I don't count on either going into the seventh inning at the latest (and more likely call it a night after six - if not sooner, pitch count) which then brings in the bullpen into play. Heading into tonight's game, I have the Yankees pen rated higher than the Red Soxes. Far as the clubbers go, I look for solid contact from both squads and, right now to me, they are ahead of the chuckers (pitchers). To support that statement, batters (fielders) play daily and get their looks while pitchers now-a-days don't/won't go more than 3 days in a row and that's only from the bullpen. Having a 'workout/simulated game', even if daily, is not the same as game day conditions - they need more real reps. On the base paths, I look for at least an attempted stolen base from each team and can see at least one be successful. The skipper's, since this is an American League game, don't have many tough choices and shouldn't cost their team the game by making a "dumb" call/move. While the numbers state more are on Boston, with the Yankees getting positive odds to boot, it's real hard to not place a unit on them. I just peeked at SBR's live lines and spotted a couple +107 shops that if they continue to increase, I may put in a re-tap on the first game of the season. That's the general/summary version for tonight's game - will it and/or I be correct or wrong? Only time will tell, but win or lose, it's just one game and no reason to get to overly excited or depressed, and remember, nobody won's them all or loses them all. Fade or follow the choice is your and whatever choice you make I wish you success.

Oh my,
that was embarassing, I didn't understand why my post wouldn't show up, so I kept posting it...so silly, I understand now it's not instantly added to the thread, but is reviewed first or smth. I'll do my freestyling in the showers from now on, consider me cleaned-up.
Looking forward to a productive season. I always watch w1 sidelines, but I had to put something on the very first game.
I bet to win a hundred at -116 on the BoSox. I was thinking CC still a slow starter, Beckett has more to prove at this point and those fenway-fanatics have waited as long for the season to start as we have. NYY might need couple games to catch their stride as they are now the hunted, not the challenger anymore. I also have chosen to buy into the BOS defence/run prevention focus. They are talking about Beckett a la 07 (w/ great command of the lower parts of the SZ) out of ST (alas, I don't have my own ST sources, I heard this said by orel hershiser on ESPN), so to get my feet wet on opening night I went with the Sox.
I'm on the yanks and the under. Don't see why opening day between 2 contenders should be anything but a close low-scoring tilt. Beckett and CC both looking for the first win with probably 50 million viewers or more. Can't wait. Let's get it on!

Thank you HustleGetPaid. I normally don't post write-ups because they are *ahem* very long *ahem* (easily enough for two blogs,1000+ words) and want people to realize that there is much thought and consideration put into each selection.

Thanks for getting MLBStreakbuilda. Everyone is welcome in here, until they earn the right not to be. Nice that you included your reasons, but they aren't always needed, just keep an accurate & updated record (win or lose) and enjoy the thread. this season.

I hope and you aren't tailing anothers' selections, not going to mention by name, because if you are, you're going to be a very unhappy poster based on their past posting selection history - hence a fade thread was made. For what it's worth, I lean towards the over 9 but it didn't qualify for a wager. Thanks for your input and .

Here is something new for this year's thread.
While I don't believe in giving a projected order of finish, I believe it is reasonable to list potential playoff teams and track their progress during the season. This post will be revisited at the All-Star break and/or trading deadline with fine tuning as needed.
Teams are listed in alphabetical order.
2010 Playoff Quality Teams
ALE: BOS, NYY, TAM
ALC: CWS, DET, MN
ALW: LAA, TX
NLE: ATL, PHI
NLC: CUBS, STL
NLW: CO, LAD, SF
