Fever at -2.5 my book, still like them to cover? I agree with ck on picking the phillies, every game they really get up for they perform real well, and facing Johan on the road is a perfect challenge for them I think. My thinking on the TOR pick is that the Rangers has to put a BP guy out there who's been paced like a reliever/get-guys-out-NOW kinda pitcher, and it's hard to suddenly go to a situation where you're starting and you have to pace yourself. It becomes a real problem when the other team sends out a guy has pitched himself several nice games, and TOR also has that plate discipline (really among the best at not swinging wildly outside the zone) that will make it hard for Mathis to get free pitches as he's trying to change up his stuff (which, again typically you don't have to do as a one/two innings guy). BJ's slugging .457 over the last three. And need every game in the race. Rangers bats have cooled a bit, .228 batting last three. Hamilton news a big blow.Comment -

Happ has pitched very well this year (sub-3.00 ERA and sub-1.00 WHIP) and the Phillies offense is much better than the Mets offense right now.
Burnett has pitched well vs the Red Sox in his career (3.52 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, .227 BAA) and the Yankee bats have hit Beckett pretty well this year (20 hits) in two starts.
Young has pretty good stats (3.68 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, .225 BAA) vs the Dodgers in his career and the LA offense is struggling (10 runs in L5).

It didn't in the first because of two freaking errors by TAM and 2 unearned runs. I've learned to not sweat a 1st inning run at all though since I've been playing almost exclusively unders. CK has taught us that they occur more often than not anyway, not to mention that makes sense with both team's top of the order batting back to back, and in addition a team is going to have to score at least one eventually. So a first inning run doesn't bother me at all anymore when I'm on an under. Two, on the other hand.... I was a little unsettled. But after the top of the first it was a fairly easy cover. Cubbies rattled off 14+ hits tonight while Lilly held the Stros to just 2 (so far). Zambrano is coming off 2 gems with 1 ER in his last 2 starts. Rodriguez on the other hand has let up 12 ER in his last 2 starts and is due for a major correction to his 2.97 ERA. Zambrona's splits starts are looking very nice as he's holding righties to just a .212 BA. And guess what, Houston is mostly righties. Zambrano's last start in Houston yielded only 1 ER with the Cubbies pulling it out 4-2.
Add to that: Cubs are 6-0 in Zambranos last 6 starts as a road favorite of -110 to -150.
Look for the Cubbies to stay hot!!!
