i checked two other sites and they both have ARI as the highest opener.
not sure what the problem is with covers, but i guess it is ARI today.

The -125 line seems to be an erroneous entry by the CRIS group of books.

Covers's data source is incorrect. aneurysm made mention of thr error with the -125 line. The correct play is ARI today althought after last night the public seems to be split on this game. The under has early action.

ok so im still new to this system but do we really go with the biggest opening early lines? I took the dabcks and now their value is way down and the Milwalkee looks like the play. Even the thing about if its a tie on who to pick the highest total points to milwalkee with 10 o/u.

The reason you go by opening lines is because the lines prior to games are influenced by the public. Opening lines are the real deal. Unless you want to follow what the public plays then wait as long as possible before the games go live. I prefer to go by the true lines.

I agree with this EXCEPT when an injury or something else that prevents a big player from the lineup that night after the line is released.

Other than that, going against squares is how we make money

According to the site I use, two other games opened at -155 and the Twins at -160.

I had the Twins @ -160 (Covers) and the Cubs @ -160 (Vegas Insider). I am going to wait for the Cubs RL to be released and go from there.

Right now here is the line on the twins on my book...

MIN G PERKINS -L -150= ML -1½ +130 = RL

Risking $92 to win $120 ( I am liking this!)

I am going to now start going by opening line on covers also. I was just going by best bet in my book when I logged on in the morning, but today, would be way to tough to pick! Lots at -150. And of course this is the way it was tested!

when i checked last night, minny had opened at -140 at the hilton, and indians/cubs had opened at -150 and were -155 or -160 in other places.

ah well. i played cleveland. and i'll just double the day up regardless of the outcome (looks good now)

Well it depends on which book you use. I think most of us decided we would use the opening line on covers.com

Just a small niggling question...

Why are the runlines and total runs odds not released till later for Cubs games? I've seen this quite a lot over the season so far. Does it have to do with the way the wind affects games at Wrigley Field?

Wow what a game last night. I went to bed in the 8th when it was 9-7 DET. Wake up to see 14-10...fantastic!

Might play today depending on the CHC line but I would hate to leave a chase open when I leave tomorrow.

I don't know how often a home team wins an extra-inning game by more than one run, but it doesn't matter HOW we do it. I went to bed long before this game was over, assuming it likely was going to be another L; that was nice news to wake up to.
