As a result, he now holds the favored odds for winning the 2023 Tour Championship. Scheffler's entry into the Tour Championship comes with a comfortable lead of two strokes over Viktor Hovland, who clinched victory in the BMW Championship with an impressive final-round course record of 61, finishing at minus-17.

Although Scheffler achieved two wins during this PGA Tour season, his most recent triumph was at The Players Championship in mid-March. Notably absent from the Tour Championship field are Justin Thomas and Hideki Matsuyama, as they failed to secure spots within the top 30 of the season-long points race.
