After Jamal Murray's unforgettable clutch shot in Game 2, the Denver Nuggets (57-25) hold a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Los Angeles Lakers (47-35). Murray aims to maintain his momentum as the series heads to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday, scheduled to tip off at 10 p.m. ET on TNT from Crypto.com Arena.

Nuggets vs. Lakers prop bet predictions for Thursday

Anthony Davis Under 25.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nearly all of the bets I make are firmly rooted in quantitative research. This one, admittedly, is largely qualitative in nature.

Davis came out swinging in Game 2, scoring 24 of his 32 points by halftime before cooling off late. Then his team blew a 20-point lead that ended with Murray drilling a jumper over Davis as time expired, and the All-NBA center all but threw his team (and coach) under the bus after the game.

That sounds like a defeated man if I've ever heard one. While I think he'll be involved on Thursday, I'd be surprised if Davis - who is known for having a passive streak at times - carries the same zeal for scoring the basketball as he did entering Game 2.

Jamal Murray Over 2.5 made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Murray has made a living in the mid-range (see: Game 2), but he's one of the most dangerous 3-point shooters in the NBA - especially in the postseason.

The Nuggets guard ranks in the top 25 among active players in postseason 3-point makes (153) and 3-point percentage (40%), and he had hit at least three triples in five straight games before going 0-for-5 on Monday.

Three of our five best sportsbooks have the Over for this prop at -130 or shorter, which carries an implied percentage of at least 56.5% via our odds converter. LeBron James Over 4.5 1Q points ⭐⭐⭐

Los Angeles has started hot in both games this series, and I fully expect James to be the catalyst early in a must-win game on Thursday.

The King has trailed 0-2 in a series only nine previous times in his career, most recently in last year's Western Conference Finals against these very Nuggets. He scored five points in the first quarter of that Game 3 contest, and he'll need a similar effort to spark the Lakers on Thursday.

We've already seen an aggressive approach through two games, as James scored 12 points in the first quarter of Game 1 and added five more to open Game 2. With a 53.49% implied probability on these -115 odds, this feels like a nice way to bet the NBA's all-time scoring leader in a do-or-die spot.
