Mavericks vs. Clippers prop bet predictions for Tuesday

James Harden Under 19.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Remember when Harden went supernova in Game 1 of last year's second-round series against the Boston Celtics, scoring 45 points with then-teammate Joel Embiid on the mend? He followed that with a 12-point performance that left many wondering where, exactly, that previous version of Harden went.

That's become commonplace for Harden, who had 28 points in Game 1 but hasn't scored 20 in consecutive postseason games since 2021. He's averaging just 14.4 points following his last nine playoff games with 20-plus, never topping 17 points in the encore.

At a certain point, Father Time is the opponent no player can overcome, and that feels like the case for Harden. He may score 20-plus later in this series, but don't expect that to come Tuesday.

Kyrie Irving Over 4.5 1Q points ⭐⭐⭐

It took two quarters for Irving to heat up in his Mavericks playoff debut after scoring just six points in the first half. Once he did, he cooked the Clippers for 20 points on 8-for-8 shooting in a "too little, too late" effort in Game 1.

Even within that lousy first half on Sunday, Irving still scored four points in the first quarter, and he cleared this prop total in five of six games to close the regular season. I'm expecting him to be aggressive from the opening tip on Tuesday.

I would give this an even stronger endorsement if not for the -130 odds, which imply a 56.52% chance of this bet cashing with a $10 bet returning $17.69 in total. This is still the best price in the market and a bet worth making.

Luka Doncic to score 40+ points ⭐⭐

I'll admit, this is a speculation play bolstered by these +290 odds from FanDuel, which would pay out $39 for a $10 bet according to our odds converter.

That said, I've been an NBA fan (and bettor) long enough to know when a Doncic eruption might be coming. We've seen plenty of them over the years - including against these very Clippers, who have surrendered five of Doncic's eight 40-point games in his postseason career.
