tomic cool under pressure, same style every point, does not freak out. like watching this guy, maybe he can be really good one day. game of inches though, if dolgopolov had hit that winner a few more inches in it would be a different tie-break result.

hey ep what do you know about medina garriques? i dont know jack about her but i think the fact that she is undefeated against na even tho it was 3 years since they last play already gives this value

She's not undefeated. Li smacked her in straights in an exhibition - Hopman Cup in December. I just think the price is ridiculous on Li Na because she's not a super dominant player and Garrigues isn't a total flake. She might get rolled, but I had Li losing somewhere in these next couple rounds personally, so I am dart boarding it here.

Shari .. what's the number of times TI users get buried when they all back the dog in a match? This looks like another one w/Dolgopolov maybe or maybe not ... and this was the kind of set I had envisioned more in this match. 6-2.

Dolgopolov's shots and slices trip me the fukk out. So cool to watch. He's the male Schiavone ... wait the female Schiavone?

Incredible that he's in his 3rd straight five set match.

The TI curse hits again. I really do just need to try fading the consensus dogs over there. Rarely seems to pan out that the dog wins.

Were people on him?? I didn't even check this time.

Didn't even have a chance to hedge tonight live betting. Kiddo decided to swan dive off of the fridge door somehow so we got home from the hospital about 30 mins ago. $300 sucked away again thanks to Mr Dolgo. Guy is going to be the end of me. Fade him and he wins. Back him and he goes pear shaped.

I think it was tipped 86 to 34 for Dolgopolov. Am I rong about consensus dogs over there? Seems like they rarely win when that whole place is on them.

You should know you only bet small when he's playing. I lost a grand total of $35.

Makes me mad. The last two sets were what we needed early for the under and what was more expected.

Wow... crazily lopsided tipping there! And yeah $35 would've been right lol

I stupidly just kept my bet sizes close to what I've been putting down this week. I really can't believe both made it through 5 sets although since I didn't watch them this time, I probably shouldn't be that shocked. I want to say I'm sticking Dolgo on the Querrery and Chardy list but I know I'll back this mofo again sometime so there's no point in even pretending.

I think the problems are two fold. #1, tons of talent and capable of winning a tournament every week if he wants to and if that blood disease/the mob isn't a factor. #2, the price. His prices rarely aren't enticing to bettors. Honestly if he was the short favorite yesterday at say -130, I bet the action would have been more like 50-50 ... not that I know what it was for sure, but seems like Dolgopolov got a lot of backing.

If Garrigues wins this next match, I may retire for this tournament.

                                      Bad luck on Dolgo guys/gals.
You leaning towards anything tomorrow EP?
At first glance liking tipsy & benneteau both as dogs at evens. Although Richie has looked in better form than tipsy coming in, may play the over instead depending on the line. May sniff kukushkin on the handicap against clownfils depending on what it is, if its 7+ I'll bite.

Hit a long shot multi today @ +26100 so may double my unit size for the rest of the tournament.

Well #1, after two days in a row of this, I should have learned sooner ... I am only going to play my original plays for the day and not add anything more. Would have done pretty well without adding more stuff the last two days.

Haven't really looked at lines yet. Will say I lean more to Gasquet than Tipsarevic, but not by much. Have not been overly impressed with Tipsarevic so far.

My take is Nishikori and tomic are the complete wildcards in this tourney, both are capable IMO of beating the higher ranked players 1-4. Would not be surprsied at all to see Kei beat tsonga if he can get by Benneteau easily..Tomic is now seeing to thrive off the crowd and has learned how to use it to his advantage.

No way Tomic is the one who ends Federer's streak of making Slam QFs. Only guys who I think could surprise would be Kohlschreiber and Almagro, but Del Potro looks to be getting better and Berdych has been solid so far.

WTA side ... I think it's time for Woz to crash out.

Don't see fed getting his feathers ruffled against tomic, he may steal a set but nothing more. You would think fed cruises through his service games and putting enough pressure on tomic to sneak a break here and there, tomic's ROS is obviously no where near where it could be with more time and I just don't see him breaking fed enough to make it as competitive as the Australian public wishes for. I think fed will identify one of his main weaknesses (movement) and exploit that enough to take it in 3 or 4.

God forbid the hype if it goes any longer than 4 or if he somehow miraculously pulls out the win, it would still get front page in Aus even if there was an earthquake.

If he won, it would be monumental because of Federer's streak. I'd expect something similar to their Davis Cup encounter where Fed won in 4 with maybe Tomic being a little more competitive in the sets.

                                                  Australian Open: January 20th

                                                  King-Ivanovic Over 19 [-113]
Vania King has really come into her own as a singles player and even if she doesn't pull off another upset today, I think she has enough to push Ivanovic to cash this over. Ana hasn't been troubled at all so far and her 1st serve has been amazingly reliable. King is going to challenger her better on return though and Ana's 2nd serve is absolutely beatable if she stays a little inconsistent getting the 1st serve in. That's usually a sure sign that Ana is going to have to work hard to win. King had issues with her 2nd serve vs. Pavlyuchenkova and needs improvement there to hold. If Ivanovic serves lights out for a 3rd straight match then maybe she's really turning the corner, but I think King has enough game to mix it up here and give this a chance.

                                                  Nishikori -125
Benneteau is a tough test here as he's in good form right now, but Benny nearly choked up a 2-0 lead to Simon last round and his serve did not seem to have that pop on it that it has when he's going really well. Part of that was Simon's return game and Nishikori is a decent returner too. Nishi for his part seemed to wake up when he was down 0-2, coming back to crush Ebden in the last three sets. He only spent three hours on-court over the course of that match, so fatigue shouldn't be an issue. Benny spent four hours on court and faces an opponent who is going to engage him in rallies and try to use his superior athleticism and court movement to his advantage. Getting time with the conditions [wind] should help out here as Kei said in his blog that the wind was something that took some getting used to during the last match. Nishi has shown in the past six months that he can beat anyone on this surface. Break point conversions will be huge here. Nishi is very good at taking those opportunities and if he can give out less than he gets ... he should have a shot to win.

                                                  Parlay: Raonic + Lisicki [+118]
Two big hitters here against aging veterans. Raonic gets Hewitt and I think everyone knows Hewitt is fortunate to be here due to Roddick's injury basically gifting him the 2nd round match. Roddick was still competing neck & neck with Hewitt with one bad leg which probably doesn't bode well for Hewitt here. Raonic has the big boomer going on-serve. He hasn't been perfect, leaving a few more breaks opps then usual hanging in the wind. He has done a good job protecting them though. I can see this being somewhat similar in style to his clash with Youzhny in last year's third round. He came through in four there and I see a similar result today. As long as his 1st serve is getting in a high percentage, Hewitt will have a tough time tonight. Raonic has already proven to be a solid tie break player which could be a factor tonight. Hewitt isn't as tough in breakers. Kuznetsova will challenge Lisicki with her crafty play, but Lisicki showed nice improvement in her last match over Peer and looks healthy. Sveta got pushed by teen Sloane Stephens with her serve struggling. She can't afford that against Lisicki who figures to hold the edge in that department.

                                                  Ferrer to Win 3-0 [-150]
You won't often find a straight sets win with odds in this range for a Top 10 player against someone not very adept on hard courts like Chela. I think the price is an over reaction to the five set match with Sweeting, but how many times have we seen some of the top guys have a scare in a Slam and then come back and roll again? Ferrer himself did it at Wimbledon after Harrison took him to five last summer, coming back to beat Beck in straights next match up. Chela has had the fortune of playing two schlubs so far in Andujar and Russell whom I expected would push him harder. Chela has won in straights both matches, but he's dangling break opps out with regularity and losing them - not what you want against someone like Ferrer. Four of the last five times Chela has crashed out in hard court Slams, it has come in straights. Expecting a more focused Ferrer today.

King doing a nice job battling back against Ivanovic. Went from 0-3 to 3-3. THat's the Ana I know.
