Patty, I never thought you did. My point was, why come tell us after the match is over who you played? If you're taking someone and have come up with a reason to do so, why not share it? Not only could you have saved some people cash but you may have made them some as well.

Unless you are 101% positive you become a better capper because of watching the games you bet on... you are probably better off watching as few of these matches as possible.

Nassim Taleb gives a great example of this (retired dentist watching his investment portfolio ups and downs, 40 hours a week, every week) in his book 'Fooled by Randomness'.

Someone as dedicated to sports and sportsbetting like yourself should really consider reading it. Cheers!

If you check out this thread from time to time, you'll notice that I tend to say that I want to check out certain matches in the 1st/2nd round that I wouldn't dare lay the chalk on individually. When I do this, it's because I feel those players have a strong chance to advance far in the tournament on their form leading up to this point and/or record on the surface and I want to see if anything has changed or if my leans were mistaken. This definitely does help me when it comes to backing/fading those players at latter stages in the tournament when the lines become tighter.

I've just made an observation that less than 20% of what I watch actually helps me make better betting decisions. So I cut it out.

I'm not as good as some of you sharks... so no point getting gray hair sweating a game - I'm much better off just checking out the final score

I can see how that definitely will add a few years to your life - especially in such a crazy sport like baseball.

With tennis though, it's often hard to tell from a score line if a player won a match because they were too good or if it was a case of their opponent being awful. Even sometimes the stats can be a little misleading because a player can hang in there and fight every point but also have an off day serving, appear to be nursing an undisclosed injury, etc... At least for me it helps to check out a few of the matches with the higher seeded players so I can see if they're worth backing later on in this tournament or later ones. There are definitely times like last week though where I gave up watching after the first day. The quality of tennis in all the tournaments was driving me nuts and I just couldn't stand it any more.

There isn't really one that I like enough to say it's strong only because betting big on early rounds in these tournaments is asking for an arse whooping.
