and offcoarse verdaco can return for shit, its the fourth set and he's only won 18 points off almagros serve, he is toast

Wow... was anyone aware that the Bondarenko sisters (they have won a major in doubles before) play Petrova/Stosur today... and are underdogs?

Yes, I repeat... the sisters... who give a tough game to anyone... playing on their favorite surface... against Stosur who had finished her three-setter against Henin just a few hours ago.

Does anyone know what the odds were, pregame?

P.S. I really need to pay attention. I took the sisters at the end of this first set (only 6-1) at -200 and I only regret I haven't staked 10x the amount.

I can't bet on doubles with either of the books I use here other than the QFs onwards so I don't know what the odds were. Sorry.

I know. It was like watching a train wreck at times but then other times he looked half decent. He just tried to stay at the baseline too much and had way too many errors on shots that normally come easy to him. I'll be interested to hear what he says afterward although that doesn't help us get back any of our damn money at all.

wow, wtf happened :P Just bought Nadal over Almagro to an odds of +690. I only got 3,5x accepted, and then it got removed by my book instantly.. Interesting to see whats gonna happen..

- 2009 Roland Garros Final (6-1 7-6 6-4)

I'm thinking straight set win @ EVEN money??
The handicap is set at -6.5 @ 2.20 and the total is under 33.5 @ 2.50. All solid bets in my opinion but would like to hear your thoughts on it. Sorry about the Verdasco match, didn't watch it but from the comments you guys wrote, it seemed he didn't really put up much of a fight!!

I've been thinking about this match since yesterday and I'm still undecided. I wouldn't be that shocked to see it go 4 although the stats H2H don't support that, but they did get to a 2nd set tiebreak last year at the French. I guess the question is - do you think Lawnboy has improved enough in the past year to give Fed a run for his money? If not, then 3-0 is your answer! I think both the handicap and total are pretty scary in this one, either way. I'm going to keep looking at it and if I come up with anything more definitive I'll come back in here and post.

They went to a second set tie break and Fed still covered the handicap and under the total pretty comfortably last year and that was the biggest game in Soderling's life. I can't see things being different this year and I think Federer is desperate to get to the final to face Rafa so no complacency on his part IMO.

I like to whip them out when I know I'll be going against them.

I agree that last year here was the biggest game of Sod's life - and he couldn't get the job done. But this year he has the benefit of another year of experience and the fact that there won't be the pressure he had last year. He's been this far before. You're probably right - I'm just trying to look at all the angles before I make a play on this one. Make sure you come in here and post what you decide to go with.

Have decided to take the -6.5 handicap @ 2.20 (-120) (3x).
- In the 12 matches that have been completed (one match Soderling retired losing 6-4 3-0), 11 matches have involved at least 1 set needing 7 games for the winner. (16 sets out of 31 with a '7'). That's why I have passed on the under games.
- 3 of the 4 sets that Soderling has won was a tie-break. If he does win a set I believe it will be a tie break. So if Fed does lose a set, for the handicap bet, I'd rather it be in a tie break then being broken and losing it 6-3 or 6-4.
- The -6.5 handicap has been covered in all 3 matches on clay (even when Fed won 2-0 in sets).
- Federer doesn't lose in quarter finals of a grand slam.
- Soderling has improved from last year but his form on clay coming into the tournament wasn't great. He lost 4 of his 5 games coming into the tournament and he hasn't really faced any proper competition so far.
- Prediction: 7-5 7-6 6-2

I do too. The only thing that makes me hesitate from going big on him is the fact that he has been a headcase in the past. He's playing some of the best tennis of his career though so I'll back him somehow.

Wozniacki looked terrible last game... if this happens again she will have trouble winning even a set. Gonna give Schiavone a shot as well, but probably on the game handicap.

Like Schiavone today!! Wozniacki have one weapon, and thats her defence. She can stand and hit balls back, but when she meets a player like Schiavone, that use slice, lob and changing pace everytime, it will give Wozniacki big problems. I can't give Wozniacki more then 50% for the win, this means big value on the other side!

Thanks Jay!! I waited too long with Petrova too. I wanted to have a bigger play on her but my son was doing quite badly earlier so by the time I got a chance to put my bets in the price had dropped quite a bit. Too much chalk for me to go big on her. Best of luck to you too!!
