Don't think Tomic is going to get a set. He's not aggressive enough. This 2nd set, Berdych wasn't great on serve and he's going to win the set most likely with Tomic getting in trouble on serve.

Don't think the Nadal match is going over man - Nadal has a head of steam so vital for Anderson to have won the first set now the match is in hand.

Nah. I don't think he wins, but I am done for the day. Dimitrov will have to raise his level quite a bit from what he's put forth so far. Always has the tools to win, but he's been fairly sloppy from set to set outside of one match in this tournament.

I think a tremendous price considering Nishikori and Ferrer should wear each other down today and if Wawrinka plays clean against GGL and wins fairly straight forward, he could pick over the remains. I know GGL beat Stan at the French, but this is a much better surface for Stan and hopefully he has a long memory for revenge.

Pretty much the set-up you would have expected from when the draws came out. Surprised he is still + money in this situation and not a slight favorite at least. Nishikori obviously would be the tougher match-up, but the line for a QF there probably is about a pick em or Stan the small fave depending on what happens today. If Ferrer pulls the upset, you for sure get the chance to hedge if you want on Ferrer at + money against Stan.

Is there any update about Stan's elbow? A couple days ago he was icing it on every change over and his first serve was noticeably slower. Any concern that a slower serve will hurt him in his next two matches?

Have not seen any more on it, hoping it's just early season soreness. Doesn't seem to be effecting him too badly. Won 90% of his 1st serve pts against Jarrko I think it was the Copil match where he was getting the ice, so he's played one match since and it did not appear worse for the wear. Definitely something to monitor, but it looked less of a concern in R3.

Gotta say from a competitive standpoint, Day 8 might take the cake for the tournament so far. At least on paper, there are a lot of matches today that look like they will be competitive. Surprisngly, all the WTA matches are fairly intriguing (doh) and ATP, Ferrer-Nishikori is the headliner, Raonic-Lopez could be interesting. Djokovic and Wawrinka probably won't be too entertaining unless you want to watch Djokovic figure out how to return a lefty power serve as the match goes on.

I think pretty remote. Lopez will have to serve much better to have a chance. He was fortunate against Jerzy that the Pole couldn't do shit on break points because he left plenty of chances out there. Raonic's serve is on point right now, so Lopez will have pressure likely on every service game. Certainly if he can maintain an A level serve for the match, he could stay right in there, but he's been inconsistent this tournament.
